She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 13
Shen Yilan watched the international news broadcast on TV. Hearing the anchor’s report, she blinked in surprise. Huh? Did I just indirectly make the news?
Fu Yinxuan, realizing that Fu Jingsheng had been on a business trip to Japan, felt a twinge of worry. He pulled out his phone and sent a WeChat message.
Fu Yinxuan: Dad, did you see the news from abroad? Please be careful.
Fu Jingsheng: I know. I’ll be careful. Look after your little sister. She’s still new at school and unfamiliar with everything. Don’t let her get bullied.
Fu Yinxuan: Got it.
After sending the message, Fu Yinxuan glanced at Shen Yilan, who was intently watching the news. He thought about the note and snacks she received at school yesterday. Her, getting bullied? Honestly, I’d believe it more if some little rascal tricked her into running off.
“Brother, it’s 7:45. We need to head to school!” Shen Yilan, unfazed by Fu Yinxuan’s gaze, cheerfully grabbed her small backpack and smiled.
Fu Yinxuan nodded, picked up his own bag, and led Shen Yilan out the door. The driver was already waiting for them outside.
When they arrived at school, Fu Yinxuan, as usual, dropped Shen Yilan off at the first-grade classroom before heading to the high school section himself.
Sitting at her desk, Shen Yilan reached into her backpack to take out her textbook but felt something cold and metallic. Her eyes flickered.
Ah, I must’ve accidentally brought that small knife from last night. Should I mail it to the police as evidence? She chuckled to herself. Nah, it’s handy. I’ll just keep it. Let’s call it a welcome gift from those assassins.
They gave me a gift, and I returned the favor. Sent them straight to meet the legendary King of Hell. Such good manners on my part!
Satisfied with her reasoning, Shen Yilan tucked the knife away.
As usual, she gazed absentmindedly out the window. In her previous life, she wouldn’t even dare step on a cockroach. But in this life, she had killed without so much as batting an eye. Am I wrong? Maybe… But this world was cruel to me first.
On Friday, after school, Shen Yilan returned home to find Fu Jingsheng sitting in the living room, watching the news.
“Dad…”
“Uncle…”
Shen Yilan and Fu Yinxuan spoke at the same time.
Hearing their voices, Fu Jingsheng turned his head slightly. He gave Fu Yinxuan a nod before smiling and waving at Shen Yilan.
“Come here. Let Uncle see if you’ve been eating well and putting on some weight.”
Shen Yilan obediently walked over. Fu Jingsheng scooped her up and settled her on his lap.
“Hmm, you’re heavier now. Looks like someone’s been eating properly. Good girl,” Fu Jingsheng said with a smile.
Fu Yinxuan looked at them with a hint of annoyance. This is blatant favoritism. Double standards!
Shen Yilan’s eyes sparkled as she grinned at Fu Jingsheng. “And has Uncle been eating properly too?”
“Of course! Uncle must set a good example for his little one,” Fu Jingsheng replied, laughing.
Turning to Fu Yinxuan, he added, “Yinxuan, go pack your things. We’re heading to your grandparents’ place for dinner later. Bring the little one along so she can meet them.”
Fu Yinxuan nodded and carried his school bag upstairs.
“Uncle, do I need to pack anything?” Shen Yilan tilted her head, her large eyes filled with curiosity.
Looking at her adorable expression, Fu Jingsheng felt his heart melt. All the stress and negativity of the past few days seemed to vanish.
“No need. My little one looks good no matter what she wears,” Fu Jingsheng said, gently patting her head.
