She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 27
Fu Yinxuan had been observing Shen Yilan’s reactions but found nothing. She seemed completely indifferent, like a child who quietly eats breakfast without involving herself in the adult conversation.
At this point, Fu Yinxuan even started to doubt his own instincts.
Shen Yilan quietly ate her breakfast, a hint of a smile flashing in her eyes. Fu Yinxuan was indeed clever, but unfortunately, no matter how clever he was, he wouldn’t find a single clue.
Time passed quickly, and Shen Yilan was now eight years old. On this day, it was the anniversary of her grandmother’s death in a car accident in her previous life.
The day before, Shen Yilan had expressed her wish to visit G City, thinking about the small village she had seen in a painting in Fu Jingsheng’s office.
Fu Jingsheng then remembered that he had promised to take her to the place in the painting, but due to his busy work, Shen Yilan never mentioned it again, and he had forgotten.
Fu Yinxuan, sitting in the car, looked at Shen Yilan, who was leaning against the window, looking out at the scenery. He was confused—why had she suddenly wanted to go to such a far-off place?
He was even more curious about what secret Shen Yilan was hiding. In her previous life, she had been just a pure, kind-hearted young lady from the Shen family, but in this life, she seemed to exude an air of mystery.
When they reached the small town near Juyao Village in G City, it was already noon. Fu Jingsheng had booked a suite in a decent hotel, planning to visit the flower fields in the painting later in the afternoon. The sunset and evening glow there would be much more beautiful.
Fu Jingsheng took out his laptop and sat at the desk, handling some work.
Fu Yinxuan grabbed a book and sat on the sofa. With the college entrance exam coming up in a month, Fu Yinxuan knew it all, but he still needed to make an effort in front of Fu Jingsheng to avoid another lecture. He didn’t want to write another self-reflection paper.
Over the past two years, since Shen Yilan had joined their family, he had written at least ten self-reflections a year. He was tired.
Shen Yilan, however, lay on the bed, counting the time. There was still one hour and seventeen minutes left before her grandmother’s car accident would occur.
“Xiao Lan, don’t lie in bed all the time. Get up, watch some TV, and move around a bit,” Fu Jingsheng said while working.
“Okay~” Shen Yilan responded, getting up from the bed. She walked out to the living room, turned on the TV, and started watching an entertainment interview.
When she saw the two people on TV, Shen Yilan wasn’t surprised. A year and a half ago, the Shen family had announced that they had found their long-lost biological daughter. They also clarified that Shen Yilan wasn’t actually a member of the Shen family, claiming that the hospital had mixed up the two babies when they were born.
When Shen Yilan had first seen this news, she almost laughed out loud. The Shen family could really make up anything!
But she hadn’t expected that in her previous life, her best friend turned out to be the Shen family’s real biological daughter. No wonder!
She remembered how she had fallen from the building… It was Mrs. Shen, the mother who loved her most, who had pushed her. It happened because she saw her fiancé, Chu Ying, passionately kissing Jiang Ziyan. Shen Yilan had confronted them, and when Mr. and Mrs. Shen saw her, they thought she was there to support them. She was furious and slapped Jiang Ziyan.
But her beloved mother had shoved her away with force. At that moment, she had been standing near the railing, and Mrs. Shen had pushed her hard enough.
She almost hadn’t fallen. She had grabbed the railing, but then her father—her own father—had grabbed her hand and pried it off the railing.
The once-pampered young lady of the Shen family, the praised socialite, had fallen to her death just like that. Everyone around her was indifferent, only worrying about whether they would be implicated. Her parents, along with Jiang Ziyan and her fiancé Chu Ying, looked at her body with cold, mocking, and even gleeful smiles, as if they were happy to see her fall.
