She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 33
After dinner, everyone sat in the living room, chatting casually.
“Xiao Lan, have you thought about which university you want to go to for high school?” Fu Qin asked, looking at Fu Yilan, who was sitting nearby playing on her phone.
“No, I just started high school, why rush?” Fu Yilan replied, still playing her game.
“Why not? You need to think about these things early. Having a direction will help you avoid feeling lost later on,” Fu Qin said, not agreeing with Fu Yilan’s attitude. She remembered when she was like that, not thinking ahead, and by the time she was in her senior year, she had no idea what to do. In the end, it was Fu Yinxuan who suggested she apply to medical school.
Fu Jingsheng also thought Fu Qin’s advice made sense.
“Xiao Lan, your cousin is right. These things need to be considered in advance so you can have a clear goal and direction,” Fu Jingsheng added.
Fu Yilan fell silent. In her past life, she died during the first semester of her senior year, before the college entrance exams. She had never thought about these things, never considered what university she wanted to attend.
Looking back now, she didn’t have a particular major she liked, no clear dream of who she wanted to become, or what career she wanted to pursue. If she had to choose a profession… would being a killer count? If that was considered a career, then she already had one.
“Xiao Lan, you’re amazing at gaming! You’re definitely cut out to be a professional player. If you join our team, the world championship is ours!” Zhou Yahuan said excitedly. He had always dreamed of Fu Yilan joining their esports team.
“Are you serious? I think Xiao Lan would be perfect for our medical school! She’ll definitely be an outstanding doctor!” Fu Qin shot Zhou Yahuan a look of disdain.
“Hey, you don’t believe me? You also play ‘Glory,’ right? Check out Xiao Lan’s rank and compare it to yours. Look at her win rates with all her heroes, then look at yours,” Zhou Yahuan insisted, not backing down.
Fu Qin ignored him. She knew Xiao Lan was good at gaming—after all, it was Xiao Lan who helped her level up. She had been showing off to her classmates about it for a while.
Suddenly, Fu Qin thought of something and looked at Fu Yinxuan. “Xiao Lan, don’t tell me you want to become a police officer like your second brother?”
It made sense that she would think that, considering Fu Yilan had asked to learn Taekwondo, Judo, and Karate when she was eight. Now at sixteen, Fu Yilan was already a black belt in all three and had even won three international championships.
Fu Yinxuan glanced at Fu Yilan and said in a low voice, “She’s not suited for that. She wouldn’t want to go to the police academy.”
Fu Yilan’s gaze flickered for a moment, but she didn’t look up, continuing to play her game on her phone.
“How do you know? Has Xiao Lan told you something?” Fu Jingsheng asked, surprised that Xiao Lan would confide in Fu Yinxuan but not in him, her father. “I guess love really does fade.”
“No, I can tell.” Fu Yinxuan said, his attention still on Fu Yilan’s reaction.
“Tch!” Fu Jingsheng, Zhou Yahuan, and Fu Qin all scoffed at the same time.
Early Monday morning, Fu Yilan got into the driver’s car and headed back to school.
The bell rang for class, and the homeroom teacher walked in holding a book, followed by a girl who wasn’t in uniform.
“Class, quiet down. This is our new transfer student. Please welcome her,” the homeroom teacher said, tapping the podium.
The students glanced at the girl on stage and gave a half-hearted clap.
The homeroom teacher didn’t seem surprised by the lack of enthusiasm.
“Go ahead and introduce yourself,” the teacher said, looking at the girl in the white dress.
The girl smiled and nodded, not minding the students’ half-hearted response. She spoke politely and graciously, “Hello, everyone. My name is Shen Ziyan, and I’m transferring here from City G. I’m your new classmate, and I hope we can all be good friends.”
Sitting in the back row by the window, Fu Yilan had been resting her head on the desk, but when she heard the name “Shen Ziyan,” her eyes snapped open. She slowly lifted her head and looked at the girl standing at the podium. It was her.
So, even though her life’s trajectory had changed, the connections and relationships that were meant to happen in her past life would still come to pass, wouldn’t they?
