She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 44
After school in the afternoon, Fu Yilan walked out of the school gate. The driver’s car was parked on the opposite side of the street. Just as she was about to cross, she suddenly heard a familiar voice.
“Alian—”
Fu Yilan sighed and turned around to see Qi Xiyao jogging towards her in a white dress.
“Why are you here?” Fu Yilan asked.
Qi Xiyao pouted when she heard the question and said, “If I hadn’t seen you last night at the ‘Palace Banquet,’ I wouldn’t have known when I could see you next. You never reply to my messages, never call me… you never take the initiative to reach out. I missed you, so I came to find you!”
Fu Yilan: …
“Don’t you have a performance today?” Fu Yilan looked her up and down and asked.
Qi Xiyao was the youngest international piano performer, winning numerous awards since she was ten years old, and now at fifteen, she was quite famous.
However, not many people in the country were interested in piano performances, so few knew Qi Xiyao.
“I haven’t had any performances recently, Alian… It’s been so long since you’ve gone shopping or had a meal with me…” Qi Xiyao’s voice had a hint of grievance.
Fu Yilan glanced at the driver waiting on the opposite side of the road and then softened her voice. “Wait here, I’ll give my bag to the driver.”
Qi Xiyao’s beautiful eyes, clear like the autumn sky, brightened immediately. The earlier hint of grievance disappeared, replaced by pure joy.
Fu Yilan walked across the street, opened the car door, tossed her bag inside, greeted the driver, then closed the door and turned back towards Qi Xiyao.
“Woohoo! Yi Sister is here to meet us for a date?” Li Peng and a few classmates who had just left the school gate saw Fu Yilan and Qi Xiyao. They whistled and teased them.
“Shut up! What are you calling?” Fu Yilan gave them a cold look.
She then led the way to the right, and Qi Xiyao waved at Li Peng and the others as a greeting before quickly catching up with Fu Yilan. She linked her arm with Fu Yilan’s. Fu Yilan tried to pull her arm away, but Qi Xiyao tightened her grip, so Fu Yilan gave up and let her hold on.
Shen Ziyan, who was following behind Li Peng and the others, looked at the retreating figures of Fu Yilan and Qi Xiyao. A flash of envy crossed her eyes, and she couldn’t help but feel as though something she once had had been taken away. Shen Ziyan was confused; why did she feel this way?
“Alian, I want to eat ice cream!” As they walked through the busy market, Qi Xiyao looked at the food stalls on either side of the street and said.
Fu Yilan furrowed her brows and replied, “It’s already October, the weather is getting cooler, and your health isn’t great. Eating ice cream will give you a cold.”
Qi Xiyao pouted, her eyes looking at Fu Yilan with a pleading expression, as if saying, “If you don’t let me have it, I’ll cry.”
Fu Yilan sighed helplessly and said, “I’ll go with you on the weekend, but no ice cream.”
Qi Xiyao immediately dropped her pitiful look, her eyes shining like stars, filled with sweetness.
“Okay… Alian has to keep her word,” Qi Xiyao smiled sweetly.
Fu Yilan nodded.
“Wow! These woven bracelets are so pretty. Alian, let’s buy a pair of these!”
As they passed a street vendor selling woven bracelets, Qi Xiyao was drawn to a pair of exquisite ones.
Fu Yilan took a quick glance but wasn’t interested in these kinds of things.
