She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 48
Fu Yilan arrived at the school convenience store, bought a bottle of fruit tea, and sat at the table outside.
She gazed at the sunny sky, her thoughts drifting back to Qi Xiyao’s smile from last night. How could someone as angelic as her want to be friends with her?
At that banquet years ago, Fu Yilan had kept a neutral expression the whole time. Aside from smiling at the Fu family, she had been cold toward everyone else.
Qi Xiyao was such a bright, cheerful girl. Why did she focus on her, out of all the people there?
Fu Yilan glanced at the black bracelet on her left wrist. She was someone who lived in the dark, covered in hostility and bl00d. She carried deep grudges. Qi Xiyao being close to her was dangerous.
Moreover… Fu Yilan thought, her eyes flashing with coldness. That organization behind it all had probably already seen the trending search online and was now keeping an eye on her. She couldn’t let Qi Xiyao get involved. The further Qi Xiyao stayed away from her, the safer she’d be.
Her phone’s WeChat notification pinged. Fu Yilan pulled out her phone and opened the message.
[“A Lan, are you in class? I’m flying abroad this afternoon for a fashion show and will be back tomorrow. Don’t miss me too much!”] The message was from Qi Xiyao.
Fu Yilan didn’t reply. She closed the screen and put her phone back in her pocket, then picked up the fruit tea, opening the bottle and taking a sip.
After school in the afternoon, Fu Yilan got into the driver’s car and was on her way back to the Fu house.
Suddenly, Fu Yilan, ever alert, sensed something. She said, “Take a detour to the southeast suburb and drop me off. You can leave after that; I have something to take care of.”
The driver didn’t understand but didn’t ask questions either. After all, he was just a worker, and who was he to question the person paying him?
The driver began the detour, and about an hour and a half later, they arrived at the entrance of an abandoned factory in the southeast suburb.
Before getting out of the car, Fu Yilan said, “If my dad and brother ask, tell them you didn’t pick me up and that I went shopping.”
The driver nodded. “Got it, Miss.” He didn’t understand why she was acting so strangely, but he knew better than to ask.
Once Fu Yilan got out of the car, she watched as the driver drove off. After the car disappeared from sight, she walked into the abandoned factory. Soon, she heard the sound of another car approaching, followed by the rustling of footsteps.
Inside the factory, Fu Yilan looked toward the entrance and waited quietly.
She saw a few people in black tight-fitting clothes walk in—two men and two women. They were neat and organized, each holding a weapon.
Fu Yilan was slightly surprised. She could sense something familiar about these four.
Although it wasn’t exactly a supernatural ability, there was something almost supernatural about them. She thought of the research institute. These might be experimental subjects created by the organization, similar to her.
“Shen Yilan, come with us!” One of the women, holding an iron whip, called out.
Fu Yilan took the small knife she always carried from her pocket, played with it in her hand, and gave them a faint smile, her expression playful.
“Come with you? Where are we going? Are you inviting me to blow up your base?”
The woman’s gaze darkened as she understood the meaning behind Fu Yilan’s words. The explosion at the research institute branch ten years ago—it was done by Fu Yilan! She had underestimated her. But ten years ago, Fu Yilan had only been six years old!
