She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 54
At lunchtime, as Fu Yilan, Zhao Beiyi, and Guo Junya were heading to the cafeteria, they saw Qi Xiyao walking toward them.
Without hesitation, Qi Xiyao walked up and linked arms with Fu Yilan. Zhao Beiyi and the others, understanding the situation, quickly made their way to the cafeteria, casting a teasing glance at Fu Yilan and Qi Xiyao before they left.
“Alian, let’s go to the cafeteria together!” Qi Xiyao smiled at Fu Yilan.
Fu Yilan didn’t respond, pulling her arm away and heading straight for the stairs.
Qi Xiyao’s smile froze, and she looked down at her hand, feeling a sense of loss and confusion. Why was Fu Yilan suddenly so cold toward her? It almost felt like she was pushing her away. Had she done something wrong?
Shaking her head, Qi Xiyao quickly picked herself up. It was fine. When she first met Fu Yilan, she acted the same way!
In the end, didn’t Fu Yilan eventually accept her closeness? She believed in Fu Yilan, and she believed in herself. One day, she would become the most important person in Fu Yilan’s heart!
After a quick internal pep talk, Qi Xiyao hurried to catch up with Fu Yilan, silently following behind her.
In the vibrant campus, there was a path lined with trees. With the changing seasons, yellowed leaves drifted down onto the walkway. Two stunning girls walked one after the other. The one in front, a bit taller, looked slightly aloof, while the one behind her, a bit shorter, radiated warmth, like bright sunshine.
The scenery was beautiful, but the people in it added a mesmerizing touch.
In the midst of these ordinary days, November arrived with winter, and so did the midterm exams for the first semester of their first year.
Two weeks after the exams, the results were finally out.
However, the results left everyone shocked. Fu Yilan, who had always been the top student, scoring full marks in all subjects, unexpectedly ranked second in the grade. She lost two points in English for getting one multiple-choice question wrong.
The student who came first in the grade was none other than the newly transferred Qi Xiyao, who had lost one point on the Chinese essay.
The students in Class 7 of Year 1 couldn’t stop staring at Fu Yilan, who was sitting at her desk playing games on her phone. Was this the kind of love shared between academic geniuses?
But how did Fu Yilan know that Qi Xiyao’s essay would lose points? How did she know it would only be one point?
Could Fu Yilan not know? Qi Xiyao had always lost points on her Chinese essays because of her handwriting. Qi Xiyao was smart, with a high IQ, and worked hard in her studies. Even when she went abroad for performances, she never neglected her schoolwork.
The reason Qi Xiyao lost points on her Chinese essays was simple. She would start writing quickly and impatiently, and the more she wrote, the worse her handwriting became. The earlier sections looked good, but by the end, it became sloppy.
The deduction in points was entirely due to the ugly handwriting at the end.
Meanwhile, Qi Xiyao, sitting in Class 1, looked at her own papers and couldn’t stop smiling. She knew it! Fu Yilan definitely had her in her heart! Otherwise, how would she have purposely chosen the wrong answer and accepted second place so willingly?
“Xiyao, why are you laughing so strangely?” Qi Xiyao’s deskmate asked, puzzled, looking at her.
Qi Xiyao shook her head and replied, “It’s nothing. You wouldn’t understand if I told you.”
Her deskmate rolled her eyes, glanced at the papers in Qi Xiyao’s hands, then looked at her own. “Alright, the world of a genius… I really don’t get it.”
