She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 56
After school, Qi Xiyao came to Class 7 again to ask Fu Yilan to walk with her.
Suddenly, Qi Xiyao’s phone rang. As she answered the call, her expression quickly turned sour.
Fu Yilan, with her sharp hearing, knew that it was Madam Qi calling, telling Qi Xiyao to go straight to the old mansion. It seemed that today was the day Qi Xiyao’s fourth uncle, Qi Yuzhi—who was also Madam Qi’s most beloved youngest son—was returning from abroad.
After hanging up, Qi Xiyao clearly seemed upset, clearly reluctant to go to the Qi family’s old mansion.
Fu Yilan said nothing and kept walking. As they reached the school gate, just as Fu Yilan was about to get into the car, Qi Xiyao spoke up.
“Alian, can you come with me to the Qi family’s old mansion?”
Fu Yilan turned her head, glanced at Qi Xiyao, and reluctantly nodded, her tone distant. “Get in the car.”
Qi Xiyao’s eyes brightened, and she quickly followed Fu Yilan into the car.
“To the Qi family’s old mansion,” Fu Yilan said.
“Yes, Miss,” the driver replied.
After Fu Yilan and Qi Xiyao got out of the car, they walked into the Qi family’s villa. In the living room, they saw Madam Qi, Mr. Qi, Mrs. Qi, as well as Qi Xiyao’s uncles and aunts, her aunt and uncle-in-law, two older cousins, and Zheng Mingji. There was also a young man in a light grey suit with a handsome appearance.
“Grandmother, aunt, uncle, dad, mom, little uncle,” Qi Xiyao greeted them one by one.
“Xiyao’s here? Come, sit down. Uh, who’s this?” Qi Ershan, Qi Xiyao’s second aunt, saw the girl standing beside her and felt like she had seen her before, but couldn’t quite place where.
“Second aunt, this is Fu Yilan, the daughter of Master Fu San,” Qi Xiyao said as she pulled Fu Yilan’s hand and sat down.
“Ah, so she’s Master Fu San’s daughter. No wonder she looks so familiar! I must’ve seen her at a few parties. My memory’s really bad!” Qi Ershan laughed.
Zheng Mingji’s gaze had been following Fu Yilan ever since she appeared.
Qi Xiyao’s little uncle, the main guest today, Qi Yuzhi, sized up Fu Yilan. His eyes lingered on the hand that Qi Xiyao and Fu Yilan were holding, noticing that both of them wore matching bracelets.
Qi Yuzhi’s gaze darkened as he looked at Fu Yilan.
Fu Yilan sensed the intense gaze from two people in the room, but she didn’t care. If they wanted to look, let them—what business was it of hers?
“Yuzhi, you’ve been abroad for so many years, and now that you’re finally back, you should spend some time with me, your mother. This is your big brother’s son, Mingji.”
“When you left for abroad, he was only eight years old. Now, he’s fifteen. He’s changed a lot over the years. Now that you’re back, you must teach him a few things!” Madam Qi said, not even glancing at Qi Xiyao as she pulled Zheng Mingji toward Qi Yuzhi.
Qi Yuzhi casually glanced at Zheng Mingji and smiled. “Mom, I’m very busy. I don’t have time for that. I’ve just returned; there’s a lot to do. We can talk about this later when I have time.”
Madam Qi didn’t insist and said, “Alright then, when you have time, spend more time with Mingji. This kid is smart and obedient; you’ll definitely be pleased with him!”
Madam Qi’s affection for Zheng Mingji was just as strong as for her youngest son, Qi Yuzhi.
Mr. Qi, Mrs. Qi, and Master Fu Three, the others present, simply sat there quietly, acting as background figures. They didn’t understand—why was it that even though they were all born from the same mother, Madam Qi only seemed to care about Qi Yuzhi?
And it wasn’t just that—ever since Zheng Mingji appeared, Madam Qi’s affection for him had surpassed that of her own children.
