She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 58
After leaving the Qi family’s old mansion, Fu Yilan walked ahead while Qi Xiyao followed behind her on the quiet night road.
In the stillness of the night, Fu Yilan heard soft sobs coming from behind.
With a sigh, Fu Yilan turned around and saw Qi Xiyao walking with her head lowered, silently crying. It seemed like Qi Xiyao noticed Fu Yilan had stopped, and she too stopped walking, still too afraid to look up.
Fu Yilan reached out, pulling Qi Xiyao into her embrace, letting her rest on her shoulder.
Qi Xiyao froze for a moment, feeling Fu Yilan’s warmth and silent comfort. Unable to hold back, she cried louder, her face pressed against Fu Yilan’s shoulder, tears soaking Fu Yilan’s school jacket.
Fu Yilan simply held her, quietly listening to her cries, letting her release her emotions.
After a long while, Qi Xiyao seemed to have cried out all her sorrow. She gently pushed Fu Yilan away, her red eyes meeting Fu Yilan’s gaze.
Fu Yilan felt a bit uncomfortable under her intense stare.
Without realizing it, Fu Yilan’s ears turned slightly red.
“Do you feel better now? Let’s go, I’ll walk you home,” Fu Yilan said, avoiding Qi Xiyao’s gaze, turning around to walk ahead.
“Alright—” Qi Xiyao wiped away the tears on her face, forcing a smile, and followed Fu Yilan.
As Qi Xiyao looked up at the sky, the moon hung high, surrounded by countless stars.
“Alian, the sky tonight is really beautiful,” she said softly.
Fu Yilan glanced at the sky but said nothing. Wasn’t the sky the same last night and the night before?
“Alian, I’ve never seen a meteor shower. If we get the chance, could we watch one together? I’m going to make a wish on the meteor shower and let it hear my wish. They say wishes made on meteor showers come true!” Qi Xiyao said, her eyes full of hope as she gazed at the sky.
Fu Yilan turned her head slightly to glance at Qi Xiyao, who was looking up at the stars, and responded in a calm voice, “Meteor showers are usually formed from debris left behind by comets. These meteor groups are pulled by Earth’s gravity and enter our atmosphere, where they burn up due to friction, creating the shower effect. The idea that they can grant wishes is pure nonsense.”
Qi Xiyao’s smile froze. She should never have expected Fu Yilan to understand romance!
“Alian… I really want to see it! I heard there’s going to be a meteor shower early next year. Can we go see it together? Please? Please, please, can we?!”
Qi Xiyao looked at Fu Yilan, holding her hand and shaking it, acting cute to try to persuade her.
Fu Yilan watched Qi Xiyao’s antics, feeling her cheeks heat up slightly. Since it was dark on the night road, Qi Xiyao didn’t see Fu Yilan’s face turn red.
“Shut up, no more acting cute! It’s ugly.”
Fu Yilan looked away, pulling her hand free as she walked ahead. She didn’t even realize that the corner of her mouth had lifted in a small smile, and her mood felt lighter than usual.
Qi Xiyao quickened her pace to catch up. Was she ugly? Back at her old school, she was known as the school beauty! Her fans even said she was more beautiful than the stars! How could she be ugly?
“Alian… please?! Let’s go see the meteor shower next year!”
…
Under the moonlight and streetlights, the two girls’ shadows walked side by side, growing farther and farther away in the night.
