She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 60
Fu Jingsheng looked at Fu Yinxuan with a gaze full of disdain, saying, “You’ve been watching too many sci-fi and fantasy dramas, haven’t you? I’ve told you to stop watching those and pay more attention to the news. You’re thinking about things that aren’t practical. If someone really had the ability to teleport, once discovered, they’d be captured by some research institute for experiments, wouldn’t they? You should trust science. You’re a police officer, and yet you ask such a ridiculous question.”
After speaking, Fu Jingsheng suddenly seemed to remember something. He froze for a moment and glanced at Fu Yilan, who was eating in the dining room. When Fu Yilan was six, she had once mentioned that she had escaped from a research institute… Huh! How could anyone actually have such an outlandish ability? He must’ve been influenced by this brat and lost focus!
Fu Yinxuan also remembered that ten years ago, Fu Yilan had said she had escaped from that research institute which had exploded. The thought lingered in his mind, growing heavier. What could a six-year-old Fu Yilan have that would make those lunatics want to experiment on her?
What if Fu Yilan was different from others? What if she had special abilities like in the movies and TV shows? What if…
That would explain why those crazy researchers wanted to study a six-year-old girl. It would also make sense of the dozen or so unrelated cases that seemed to have been caused by Fu Yilan…
Fu Yilan had heard it all. She knew Fu Yinxuan was doing this on purpose to test her reaction. Unfortunately, he would be disappointed. Until she had gotten her revenge, she would never allow him to gather any evidence against her.
Life passed by in an ordinary blur, and before long, it was Christmas Eve.
During the past month, Zheng Mingjin transferred to their school, but he ended up in the third year of middle school since the first-year high school class was full. Every day after school, he would run to the first-year class to find Fu Yilan, tagging along with her and Qi Xiyao to the cafeteria. Even though Qi Xiyao didn’t like him at all, he still shamelessly followed them.
Shen Ziyan didn’t dare to provoke Fu Yilan anymore. She stayed as quiet as possible in class, almost like a transparent person.
It became obvious to everyone that the third-year transfer student, Zheng Mingjin, liked Fu Yilan and was pursuing her. He followed her around every day. Plus, Zheng Mingjin was good-looking and about the same height as Fu Yilan, so many people shipped them as a couple, except for Qi Xiyao.
Fu Yilan also noticed she was being watched. Every day, someone was following her—some were from Fu Jingsheng’s side, assigned to protect her, while others were either from the Shen family or from the mysterious organization. Fu Yilan didn’t take any action and let them follow her.
What had changed this month was that Qi Xiyao no longer took Fu Yilan’s car home. Instead, she started riding with Qi Yuzhi, who picked her up every afternoon after school. Qi Xiyao wasn’t happy about it, but there was nothing she could do. In the Qi family, Qi Yuzhi’s word carried more weight than even Qi Old Madam’s.
However, Fu Yilan always felt that Qi Yuzhi wasn’t just the fourth master of the Qi family. There was something about him that felt mysterious, and whenever she ran into him, she could sense that his gaze toward her wasn’t quite right.
Qi Yuzhi seemed to have an animosity toward her, but at the same time, there was an air of inevitability, as if he was determined to have her.
Since her rebirth, Fu Yilan had known she was no ordinary person, and she remained wary and suspicious of everyone she met.
Now, she suspected that Qi Yuzhi might be connected to that mysterious organization, but she had no evidence to prove it.
Even when she had someone investigate Qi Yuzhi, all the information showed that his relationships and past were clean and normal.
In fact, everything about him was too normal and too clean, which made Fu Yilan even more suspicious that Qi Yuzhi wasn’t as simple as he seemed.
