She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 66
“We’re not suited for each other, no matter how you look at it.” Fu Yilan clenched her hands in her school uniform pockets, trying hard to hold back. She feared that if she didn’t control herself, she would go over and hold Qi Xiyao, wiping away her tears.
“What do you mean, ‘not suited’? Where are we not suited? You’re a martial arts champion, I’m a pianist. You’re good at academics, and I’m not bad at it either. You’re the daughter of the Fu family, and I’m the daughter of the Qi family. You’re sixteen, I’m fifteen. Tell me, where are we not suited?”
Qi Xiyao couldn’t hold back any longer. She cried out, her heart torn apart. She had endured for so long, hidden her feelings for so long, and just when she was about to confess, she was cruelly rejected. How could she stay calm?
“It’s unnecessary. You’re just dependent on me. When you meet someone who truly comes for you, you’ll understand what real love is,” Fu Yilan turned her gaze away, trying not to look at Qi Xiyao. She feared she couldn’t stay calm.
“Eight years! Eight whole years! Don’t I know my feelings better than anyone? Do you think I learned the piano for no reason? Do you think I entered so many competitions and performances for no reason?
Because you learned judo, learned taekwondo, things I couldn’t do because of my health. So, I learned the piano, just so I could walk alongside you!”
“Do you think I’m really a genius because of my grades? No, it’s because you always get full marks, so every day I work hard, not just practicing the piano, but also studying.
I push myself so hard just to be good enough for someone as outstanding as you, just so I could stand by your side! It’s all because I love you!”
“Why, why are you being so cruel to me? Ah Lan, please, share just a little of your love with me, please? Just a little, please? Ah Lan, just a little…please?”
“Please! Please! Tell me, why?!”
Qi Xiyao’s heart-wrenching cries grew louder and more desperate as she fell apart. She couldn’t accept losing her only light. She couldn’t accept Fu Yilan’s rejection. She didn’t want to be so humble, but she truly didn’t want to lose Fu Yilan.
Fu Yilan clenched her fists, her heart pierced by Qi Xiyao’s cries, her humility. It felt like sharp needles stabbing her heart.
In her mind, Qi Xiyao had always been the confident young lady from the Qi family. Even in front of Old Lady Qi, Qi Xiyao would bow her head, but she would never go against her own will to fulfill Old Lady Qi’s requests because of her strong sense of pride.
But now, this proud Qi Xiyao was showing such humility before her.
“Ah Lan, please! Say something! Please! Don’t leave me! Ah Lan, please! Just a little, just a little love, please?” Qi Xiyao begged, seeing Fu Yilan’s cold indifference. Fu Yilan ignored her completely, and Qi Xiyao became more anxious, pleading desperately.
Fu Yilan stood up without looking at Qi Xiyao and walked towards the door.
“Ah Lan! Don’t go! Please, don’t leave! Fu Yilan!! Please! Don’t leave me!”
Qi Xiyao cried out in pain as she watched Fu Yilan’s figure leave, but Fu Yilan showed no sign of stopping and left the hospital room.
Fu Yilan closed the door behind her and sat down on a nearby bench, her face showing exhaustion.
Mr. and Mrs. Qi came back with food and saw Fu Yilan sitting outside while Qi Xiyao’s heart-wrenching cries echoed from inside. They immediately understood what had happened, but said nothing.
Mr. and Mrs. Qi opened the door and entered the room.
Fu Yilan listened as Qi Xiyao’s cries gradually quieted, accompanied by the soft comforting voices of Mr. and Mrs. Qi, before standing up and leaving the hospital.
