She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 67
When Fu Yilan returned home, she seemed rather gloomy.
Fu Yinxuan, noticing her mood, raised an eyebrow and said, “What’s wrong with you? You look like someone just lost their father.”
Fu Jingsheng, hearing this, smacked Fu Yinxuan on the head and said, “No, she looks like someone just lost their brother!”
Fu Yinxuan rubbed his head, his lips twitching. Alright, if it’s about losing a brother, fine!
“By the way, what’s going on with you? I heard that girl from the Qi family got injured and is in the hospital. Did you go see her?” Fu Jingsheng asked. He didn’t know that Qi Xiyao had gotten hurt because of Fu Yilan. Fu Yilan had avoided the people Fu Jingsheng had secretly sent to protect her in order to go save her. If others found out that she had abilities, it would be trouble.
“Yeah, she’s probably sleeping by now,” Fu Yilan replied, sounding a bit distracted.
Fu Jingsheng blinked and then stopped asking, seeing that his daughter wasn’t in a good mood. He decided it was better not to push the issue.
Fu Jingsheng exchanged a glance with Fu Yinxuan, signaling him to ask Fu Yilan what was bothering her.
Fu Yinxuan: ?? Why should I ask? So, you don’t want to push her, but I should? Am I just here to do your dirty work?
Unable to withstand Fu Jingsheng’s pressure, Fu Yinxuan turned to Fu Yilan and asked, “Hey, Xiao Lan, what’s going on? Talk to us, maybe we can help.”
Fu Yilan looked up at her father and brother who were both staring at her.
“It’s nothing,” she said. “I was just thinking that my brother hasn’t written a self-reflection in a while. I kind of miss it.”
Fu Yinxuan: Go away!
“The department still has some work I need to handle. I’ll be going back. Don’t bother me unless it’s something important,” Fu Yinxuan said, grabbing his coat from the sofa and rushing out without looking back.
Fu Jingsheng clearly didn’t believe Fu Yilan’s dismissive response, but he could tell that her bad mood was because of Qi Xiyao. Honestly, these two kids…
Mr. and Mrs. Qi could tell, so how could the Fu family not? Everyone just knew not to say it outright.
“Sometimes, people come into your life for a reason. Some feelings, if you don’t cherish them, you might lose them in the next moment. No relationship can be maintained by one person alone—it has to be mutual.
I know you’re mature, and you think about things thoroughly, but have you considered that some things don’t need to be overthought? Some feelings just need that impulsive leap. You only have one youth, and once it’s gone, it’s really gone.”
Fu Jingsheng’s tone seemed like he was trying to console Fu Yilan, but it also seemed like he was talking to himself.
Fu Jingsheng had also been in love before, during his college years. But at that time, he didn’t have the courage and wasn’t confident in himself.
So, he missed his chance with that person. When he met them again, they were already married with kids… Later, he heard that the whole family had gone missing, with no trace of them.
Fu Yilan’s lashes fluttered slightly, but she knew this was her second shot at youth. The first time, she gambled everything and ended up with betrayal from everyone, dying at the age of eighteen—the age when she was most hopeful for adulthood. In front of everyone, no one cared about her.
She couldn’t afford to gamble again. She knew that this life was different, that the people she met and the paths she walked were different. The nature of the gamble was different too. She couldn’t gamble with the lives of her family, and she couldn’t gamble with Qi Xiyao’s life.
Just wait a little longer. Wait until she completely eliminates that mysterious organization from the world.
