She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 68
“Ah Lan… Ah Lan!!” In her sleep, Qi Xiyao was still immersed in the sadness and hurt that Fu Yilan had brought her. Suddenly, she woke up, her face already covered in tear tracks.
Mrs. Qi, who had fallen asleep on the sofa, was jolted awake by Qi Xiyao’s scream. She looked toward the hospital bed where Qi Xiyao was lying, staring at the ceiling, silently crying. Her heart ached.
Mrs. Qi walked over and sat on the chair by the bed, gently wiping the tears from Qi Xiyao’s face.
“Mom… why? Why did Ah Lan leave me? Am I not good enough? Am I not worthy of Ah Lan?” Qi Xiyao cried out in sadness, her voice heavy with pain. The atmosphere in the entire hospital room became suffocating.
Mrs. Qi felt her daughter’s pain but couldn’t blame Fu Yilan. When it came to love, no one could predict the outcome. She just hoped that her daughter would move on soon.
“Xiyao is perfect. To your father and me, you’ll always be the best. You have to understand that not every love can be returned. If every love was returned, then this world wouldn’t have any regrets. You’re so wonderful, Xiyao, and when you grow up, you’ll meet someone who will love you with all their heart.” Mrs. Qi spoke softly, comforting her.
But Qi Xiyao kept shaking her head.
“I don’t want anyone else, only Ah Lan. Only Ah Lan. Mom, can you talk to Ah Lan for me? Tell her not to leave me… Actually, I understand everything, but I just can’t do it. I can’t live without Ah Lan, Mom, I really can’t!”
Seeing her daughter pleading so humbly, Mrs. Qi’s heart broke. She remembered how, just before her daughter fell asleep, she had received a message from Fu Yilan. It said that Fu Yilan would stay away from Qi Xiyao and hoped that Mrs. Qi could help her daughter forget Fu Yilan.
Two weeks after Qi Xiyao was hospitalized, she had recovered enough to be discharged.
The next day, Qi Xiyao went straight to Class 7 to find Fu Yilan, but Fu Yilan was nowhere to be found.
“Excuse me, has Ah Lan not come to school?” Qi Xiyao asked, stopping Zhao Beiyi, who was on her way back to class.
Zhao Beiyi looked at Qi Xiyao with a puzzled expression and replied, “Ah Xiyao, Ah Lan went abroad two weeks ago. Didn’t you know?”
“She went abroad two weeks ago… Two weeks ago… Abroad…” Those words thundered in Qi Xiyao’s mind, as if a bolt of lightning had struck her.
Qi Xiyao, like someone who had lost her soul, let go of Zhao Beiyi and slowly turned to walk toward Class 1.
Ah Lan really did leave her. Ah Lan truly left her. They couldn’t be together, but they could still be friends, right?
She could love from afar. She didn’t need to be with Ah Lan. Why did Ah Lan have to leave her?
Did Ah Lan find her feelings disgusting? She had been so careful, never daring to openly express her feelings. But her love had been so obvious that Ah Lan had noticed.
It was her fault. She scared Ah Lan away. She lost Ah Lan. It was all her fault… She had brought this upon herself.
But… she couldn’t help it. She really couldn’t. She had tried so hard. She just wanted to be with Ah Lan openly. She just wanted a clear identity between her and Ah Lan. She just…
