She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 72
“Whatever! It’s not like it matters to me,” Fu Yilan shrugged and said nonchalantly.
Qi Xiyao was momentarily speechless.
“Alright, you’ve said your greetings. You should go now, or my cousin might start panicking looking for you,” Fu Yilan said, not wanting to make things difficult for her, and she gently gave her the hint to leave.
Qi Xiyao remained silent and didn’t move. She lowered her head, wrestling with her emotions for a moment. Then, she gathered the courage, took a deep breath, and looked up at Fu Yilan. With firm resolve, she raised her hand and slapped Fu Yilan across the face.
Fu Yilan had already noticed what Qi Xiyao was about to do. She didn’t dodge; instead, she accepted the slap head-on.
“This slap is for the one you left without a word two years ago, leaving me to suffer the heart-wrenching pain alone! It’s also to repay the hurt you caused me back then and the injustices I endured,” Qi Xiyao said, her voice shaking with emotion.
“Fu Yilan! You clearly care about me, but you won’t admit it. You chose to run away, to leave me behind. I don’t know if you’re afraid of what others might think or if there’s some other reason, but I know one thing: you still have me in your heart! Otherwise, you wouldn’t still be wearing the bracelet I gave you!”
“Even so, I still have my dignity and pride. When I tore away the pride of the eldest daughter of the Qi family, begging you humbly, it was because I loved you. I loved you so much that I gave up my pride, my dignity. But now, I’m telling you—I won’t revolve around you anymore, and I won’t forgive you.”
Qi Xiyao said everything in one breath, then turned and left with firm determination in her steps.
Back in the banquet hall, Qi Xiyao let out a sigh of relief. For a moment, she was tempted to cry—she really loved Ah Lan so much! But she couldn’t lose the dignity she had just regained.
Fu Yilan watched Qi Xiyao’s retreating figure. She touched the spot where she had been slapped and chuckled softly. It had been two years, and Qi Xiyao’s courage had only grown.
A short while later, Fu Yinxuan came out and walked toward Fu Yilan. When he saw the faint imprint of a slap on her face, it was easy to guess who had done it.
“Oh? What’s this? Got slapped? Did you do something bad and get your revenge? Come on, tell me who did it. I’ll go find her and ask her to bring me along next time,” Fu Yinxuan teased with a mischievous grin.
Fu Yilan glanced at him and rolled her eyes. This guy had been relentless two years ago, investigating her case so thoroughly. After not seeing him for two years, what was wrong with him now? Had he lost his mind?
“Brother, I think you’re about twenty-eight now, right? Maybe it’s time to remind Grandpa, Grandma, and Dad. People your age usually already have kids in preschool,” Fu Yilan said with a casual tone.
Fu Yinxuan’s expression froze. She had just hit him with a direct shot? No sportsmanship!
“What are you saying! I was just joking! Does your face hurt? Let me take you to the hospital,” Fu Yinxuan quickly shifted to a more flattering tone.
Fu Yilan gave him a disdainful glance before walking away toward the restroom. She needed to fix her makeup; it wouldn’t be good for others to notice her face like this.
After freshening up, Fu Yilan returned to the banquet hall. She greeted the necessary people, but throughout the evening, she completely ignored Qi Xiyao, acting as if she didn’t exist, as if she didn’t even know her.
