She Was Sentenced to Life Imprisonment [Unlimited] - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: Beauty Porcelain (9)
Why So Careless
The night was desolate. The biting wind carried endless coldness that invaded their skin, seeping into their limbs and bones, a cold that went to the bone.
“What a ghostly weather.”
The people in thin clothes were soaked by the rain. Every step they took, they shivered.
Li Feng looked at the woman walking leisurely ahead of them, his teeth chattering as he cursed.
“Crazy woman.”
“What’s that sound?” Yi Fei was also shaking uncontrollably. His thin body looked like it was about to be blown away by the wind at any moment.
Yi Fei looked around and saw all the porcelainized houses and objects. His expression immediately changed.
A “crackle” sound came from the distance. It was the sound of a fire burning wood.
The dense crowd in front of them gradually appeared. They had their backs to them, watching the blazing fire on the altar.
The rain was still falling, and it chilled them to the bone. But the fire in front of them was clearly burning in the rain. Not only did it not go out, but it also burned more and more fiercely. Such a bizarre scene was terrifying and creepy.
The townspeople under the altar were shouting angrily, as if they wanted to see the person in the fire die in front of them.
“What are they saying? Who stole what?” Yi Fei could only make out a few words from the chaotic shouts.
Li Feng shivered, his teeth clenched as he said.
“This is an evil place. Let’s go. That big guy is about to catch up to that crazy woman.”
This suddenly appearing altar was the only way to the Lin Manor. The big guy Li Feng was talking about was Shi Hui.
Shi Hui had been silent the whole way, following them unhurriedly. For some reason, he was suddenly stimulated. He quickly passed them and went in Luo Ning’s direction.
Luo Ning had already walked to the altar. Beside her were the continuously shouting townspeople.
She stopped and slightly tilted her head. Under the light of the fire, the depths of her bewitching eyes held a bloodthirsty and terrifying smile, like an abyss that lured people in and made them unable to extricate themselves.
Shi Hui, who had come charging over without a care, saw the mockery on her face and went mad. With bloodshot eyes, he was like a huge, clumsy rock trying to knock her down.
Luo Ning saw his intention but had no intention of avoiding him. She glanced at something beside her and then kicked a person to block his charge.
Shi Hui didn’t have time to stop. His foot stepped on a townsperson who had turned into a porcelain person. He stepped through their chest. The sound of cracking porcelain was accompanied by his fall.
Luo Ning held her umbrella and walked over to the fallen person with her heels on the ground. She laughed softly.
“Why so careless.”
The man’s hands were on the ground. The moment he looked up, his eyes were filled with hatred. His stiff face couldn’t show a more angry expression. He could only say through gritted teeth.
“You damned woman.”
He had been fooled by a woman twice. No matter what, Luo Ning was at the top of his death list.
Luo Ning slightly raised her eyebrows. A look of malevolence flashed in her eyes.
“I, cannot die. You will only be wasting your energy.”
Her calm tone was just stating a fact, but his words were a provocation in Shi Hui’s ears.
“Are you okay?”
Yi Fei finally came to his senses after seeing the crushed townsperson. He immediately went to help Shi Hui up, but his eyes were always on the porcelain person with half a chest crushed. The dark, hollow chest and the scattered porcelain pieces looked like a regular porcelain piece that had shattered.
Before Yi Fei could get there, Shi Hui let out a low growl.
“Scram.”
Yi Fei’s footsteps paused. A sinister look flashed in his eyes. He didn’t go over with a hot face to a cold butt.
Li Feng walked over, holding the porcelain Buddha, and spat.
“What’s with the attitude?! Ignore him! Let’s go!”
He was clearly in a hurry, but it was a pity that he didn’t have an extra hand to drag Yi Fei away.
They didn’t see the tiny cracks on Shi Hui’s body, which made him even more terrified. He didn’t dare to let anyone else see his change.
Luo Ning, however, saw it clearly. The smile on her face deepened. Under the rumbling thunder, she was like a King of Hell from hell coming to collect a life. Her lips parted, and her voice carried a smile.
“Oh, you’re badly injured. You have to be more careful next time you walk.”
The anger in Shi Hui’s eyes seemed to want to slice her into a thousand pieces, but this was nothing to Luo Ning. She let out a laugh and left with her umbrella.
Yi Fei watched as Shi Hui stood up and frantically tidied himself up. He squinted his eyes, but he couldn’t see very clearly through the rain. He only knew that the other person looked at them with a fierce look. But his face was like a paralysis, without any expression, which made that look seem especially weird.
“Hurry up, that crazy woman is getting far away.”
Li Feng urged Yi Fei, who was standing still and thinking. Seeing that he wasn’t moving, he anxiously hugged the porcelain Buddha and chased after her. When he saw the bizarre fire on the altar, the figure inside flashed before his eyes, and his scalp tingled. He sped up his pace even more.
He wasn’t looking at the road and bumped into a townsperson. The cold, hard body hit him, and he yelped in pain.
“Which blind idiot is that?!”
He looked up and was met with a smooth face that reflected a strange light. The empty, protruding eyes were staring straight at him.
Li Feng was so scared that he took a step back and yelled.
“What a ghostly thing.”
Yi Fei immediately came over and said apologetically.
“Sorry…”
He didn’t finish his words. When he saw the townsperson’s face, he froze for a moment. Unconsciously, he looked at the person Shi Hui had crushed. The coldness from his feet rushed throughout his body.
The townspeople here were not even human…
It seemed that the commotion here had been heard. The townspeople who had been shouting enthusiastically just a moment ago all turned their heads and looked at them with stiff, empty eyes. Their dragging footsteps slowly moved toward them.
Seeing this, Li Feng’s body shivered. He didn’t care about the others anymore. He hugged the porcelain Buddha tightly and closed his eyes, charging out of here without a care.
Yi Fei wanted to call out to him, but he found that everyone else had left. If he didn’t leave quickly, he might not be able to leave when the townspeople all surrounded them.
Before leaving, he glanced at the figure on the altar covered by the high flames, and a thought came to his mind.
Li Feng ran very fast, but when he got to the Lin Manor, the floating white silk immediately stopped him. He didn’t dare to move forward.
The old faded red gate that had been closed was blown open by a gust of wind the moment he stopped. The “creak” sound made his scalp tingle.
Inside, the lights flickered. The black, rotting coffin was placed in the courtyard, making him feel a chilling wind.
Li Feng, who was out of breath from exhaustion, didn’t notice that a person had appeared behind him at some point. The tall figure cast a shadow over him. The lifeless eyes were staring at the person in front of them.
The wide, calloused hand was holding something. It was about to fall the next second but was interrupted by a voice.
“Why are you walking so fast?”
Yi Fei had caught up. His already thin body was now swaying precariously. He bent over slightly and panted heavily.
Shi Hui subtly pulled back his hand and said coldly.
“You’re the one who’s slow.”
Yi Fei looked at his sturdy figure. He forcefully suppressed the emotions in his heart and smiled fawningly, looking harmless and naive.
Shi Hui glanced at the manor. He completely ignored the others and walked in on his own.
“Hey, you…”
Yi Fei pretended to reach out to stop him but was stopped by Li Feng, who couldn’t stand Shi Hui. He said disdainfully.
“Let him be arrogant! He’s just a damn bodybuilder with a bunch of muscles, and he still got taken down by that crazy woman. You’re the only one who’s a good student, and he treats you like a pushover.”
As he complained, he hoped that Yi Fei would continue to help him.
But the person inside heard him. A strange look flashed in his eyes. He then expressionlessly pulled out the dried corpse from the coffin, one by one, as if he wanted to die with them.
Seeing his actions, their expressions instantly changed. Li Feng was already on edge because of this place. When he saw his actions, he became even more furious. He pointed at him and said.
“What are you doing? Do you want us to die with you?!”
Yi Fei also panicked. This was not part of his plan. But Li Feng’s words just now reminded him of a person. He looked around and didn’t see anyone. Only then did he stop the enraged Li Feng and ask.
“Where did that person go?”
Luo Ning had left faster than any of them, but now she was nowhere to be seen.
Li Feng naturally didn’t know where Luo Ning had gone. He could only shake his head and say.
“I don’t know.”
They couldn’t find Luo Ning for the time being. Yi Fei looked at the crazy Shi Hui inside and then at the porcelain Buddha in Li Feng’s hand. He said.
“Let’s go in and stop him first.”
But it was easier said than done. The two of them combined were not even a match for one Shi Hui. How could they stop him?
By the time they went in, the place had already been trashed by Shi Hui. The coffins were kicked over, and the remains of dried corpses were all over the place.
There was nothing left to smash. Shi Hui smiled sinisterly at them and opened his mouth.
“Let’s all die together.”
Li Feng rolled his eyes and said impatiently.
“Psycho.”
Yi Fei didn’t have time to deal with Shi Hui’s madness. He asked Li Feng, who was by his side.
“Where did you get this thing?”
Li Feng also remembered the “hot potato” in his hand. He said hurriedly.
“The main hall.”
When they pushed open the door to that room, the person who had been standing inside for a long time smiled at them and said with a hint of disdain.
“You’re so slow.”
A thunderbolt streaked across the sky. The pale light shone on her beautiful face, as if she were a ghost climbing out of an abyss.
Li Feng, who had just stepped into the doorway, screamed, his voice echoing throughout the courtyard. When he fell to the ground, the thing in his hand also fell.
The fragile porcelain shattered into pieces in an instant. The mess was so bad that it couldn’t even be put back together.
Li Feng looked at the woman who was slowly walking out. His face was flushed with anger. He pointed at her and said furiously.
“What are you doing? Do you want me to die, too?!”
Now, not only had he not found the ashes to make the porcelain, but the porcelain that had dragged him into this abyss was also shattered. How could he not be angry?
Luo Ning slowly walked up to him. She glanced at the fragments on the ground and said with a cold sneer.
“A pile of junk, and you treasure it so much.”
No one noticed that the moment her words fell, a fierce wind suddenly blew through the courtyard, rolling up the remains. The howling of the wind sounded exactly like the wails of ghosts.
