She Was Sentenced to Life Imprisonment [Unlimited] - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
â—Ž Are you scared? â—Ž
This wedding was so smooth it made you suspicious.
But in the eyes of others, looking at them, there seemed to be something mixed in, and that was… desire.
Jiang Nan felt a little uncomfortable being watched by everyone, and for a moment, she couldn’t breathe.
After the necessary wedding procedures were over, she leaned against the door frame, watching the group of “harmonious” guests with a cold gaze.
The groom and bride were still dealing with the elders, and for the time being, they didn’t notice that a bridesmaid was missing.
Jiang Nan’s eyes drooped slightly, showing impatience with the noise, and a hint of indifference in her expression.
Suddenly, a pair of long legs appeared in her sight, wearing high heels, standing less than half a meter in front of her.
The elegant scent of jasmine filled the air, and a familiar aura surrounded her.
She was stunned for a moment, and slowly raised her eyes, meeting that pair of enchanting purple pupils. Although beautiful, they were also like a bottomless abyss, yet they could deeply attract and make people willingly sink into them.
“What are you doing?” Jiang Nan asked listlessly, shifting her gaze away from the other person.
“You’re slacking off,” Luo Ning said with a smile, reminding her.
Luo Ning’s face was stunning, but when she smiled, she looked like a calculating fox.
Jiang Nan looked at the other person again, staring for a moment. The smile on the other’s lips didn’t change, as if she was just kindly reminding her.
Jiang Nan’s impatience grew, and just as she was about to speak, Luo Ning opened her mouth with a look of understanding.
“You don’t like crowded places, do you?”
Jiang Nan frowned slightly, looking at her and said coldly.
“I don’t like them, so you should stay away from me too.”
“So heartless…” Luo Ning’s smile didn’t fade, and a hint of playfulness appeared in her eyes.
Jiang Nan lifted her foot, just about to leave, but suddenly remembered something and asked her in the noisy crowd.
“Is there any way to get information on other players?”
She paused, then added again.
“Photos are fine too.”
Luo Ning looked at her thoughtfully, raised her hand to rub her chin, and smiled.
“That depends on the scope you want.”
“All of them,” Jiang Nan said nonchalantly, not caring if her request was too difficult.
Because she had only seen that person’s appearance, she could only find that person if she had a photo.
Luo Ning chuckled softly, looked down at this presumptuous person, and her playfulness grew. Just as Jiang Nan was about to become impatient, she finally spoke, but didn’t give a definite answer.
“That’s difficult. Only the highest-level hosts have higher privileges.”
Jiang Nan heard this, lowered her eyes and thought for a moment, then said flatly.
“I see.”
Luo Ning reached out, as if to grab her wrist, but when Jiang Nan noticed, her eyes turned cold, she avoided the other’s hand, and turned to mercilessly enter the lively crowd.
Luo Ning’s hand stopped in mid-air, and the person in front of her had left, but she didn’t feel embarrassed because of it.
She retracted her hand as if nothing had happened, and in an angle where others couldn’t see, a hint of bloodthirsty ferocity flashed in the depths of her smiling eyes, fleetingly, and soon returned to her smiling self.
“No rush,” she said.
After Jiang Nan entered the crowd, she regretted it a little.
She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she felt as if these people’s eyes were glued to her, making her uncomfortable.
She knew very well that the look in their eyes was very similar to the way people looked at her in her original dungeon world, which made her heart pound fiercely.
Jiang Nan could only return to the bride’s side, but she didn’t see any sign of the other bridesmaid.
The bride was being egged on to drink, and she seemed unwilling. The moment she saw Jiang Nan come over, she immediately handed the wine glass in her hand to her and told her to drink.
Jiang Nan looked at the object in her hand and didn’t move. The bride then urged her impatiently to hurry up.
But Jiang Nan seemed to have not heard at all and didn’t move. In the urging of others, she raised her eyes coldly and said.
“I’m allergic to alcohol.”
The bride was obviously not satisfied with her explanation and said.
“It’s just an allergy, it’s not like you’re going to die.”
Jiang Nan’s gaze turned to her, and the chill underneath made people shudder. She spoke without mercy.
“I will die.”
The bride didn’t expect her to embarrass her, and her face instantly turned pale. The smile on her face almost cracked, and her clenched hands were frighteningly white. Her black pupils instantly became bl00d-red, and she smiled through gritted teeth, saying.
“Then I was not considerate enough.”
After her words fell, Jiang Nan handed the wine glass back to the other person, and when the bride took it, she was so strong that she almost crushed the wine glass in her hand.
The groom and bride once again smiled and dealt with the elders, and Jiang Nan just stood obediently to the side, lost in thought.
At this time, the gazes on her became more and more blatant, with a naked meaning.
A hand appeared behind her, about to land on her.
Her wrist was suddenly grabbed, and in an instant, she entered a warm embrace. The scent of jasmine gave her mind a little more peace.
When Jiang Nan saw that it was Luo Ning, her face instantly turned cold. Just as she was about to ask what she was doing, she saw Luo Ning looking coldly at a man, with a rare coldness, and even a hint of barely perceptible killing intent.
Seeing this, Jiang Nan also looked at the middle-aged man who was being watched by Luo Ning. The man seemed to be afraid of Luo Ning, so he avoided her gaze and pretended to be okay, chatting with others.
Jiang Nan’s expression was grim, because they were still secretly glancing at her, but they were afraid of the person beside her.
She also knew that Luo Ning had probably helped her just now, and she said in a low voice.
“Thank you.” It was barely audible, and even more inaudible in the noisy crowd. However, Luo Ning heard it clearly. The corner of her mouth lifted slightly, and she leaned over to her ear, chuckled softly, and said.
“So polite.” If there was no malice in her eyes, she would really look like a pervert teasing a young girl.
Her sudden closeness made Jiang Nan’s body stiffen suddenly. After hearing the other person’s words, her expression turned even darker. She immediately broke free from the hand that was holding her and was about to leave.
However, she hadn’t taken a step yet, but her wrist was grabbed again, and in the next moment, she heard the other person’s voice, with a hint of seriousness.
“Don’t move.”
Hearing this, a hint of confusion flashed in Jiang Nan’s eyes. She turned her head to look at Luo Ning, but saw that the other person put her index finger to her mouth, telling her not to speak, then tilted her head to the side and gestured for her to look over.
Jiang Nan understood and followed the direction she pointed. The scene reflected in her eyes made a hint of coldness flash in her eyes.
The other bridesmaid was surrounded by several male relatives, who were laughing and telling her to drink. She clearly refused, but they brought up the topic of not giving them face, forcing her to accept.
This scene made a deep-seated memory of Jiang Nan’s suddenly surface. In a trance, she seemed to see her helpless and panicked self.
Later, she didn’t even know how she was pulled over by Luo Ning. She just knew that after she came back to her senses, she saw the figure blocking her in front, which not only helped the bridesmaid but also seemed to block all the danger for her.
“Don’t be afraid,” Luo Ning said to her.
At this moment, Luo Ning’s figure seemed to overlap with that person, making Jiang Nan almost think she saw that person.
Jiang Nan shook her head, telling herself that Luo Ning was not that person, but she didn’t notice her own disappointment.
Then she saw that the bridesmaid was already scared out of her wits, so she forced a gentle smile at her and said, in a somewhat unpracticed way of comforting.
“It’s okay.”
The bridesmaid lowered her head. Her long hair, which had been tied up, also fell in a few strands on her forehead during the shoving, making her look disheveled.
The drooping hair covered her eyes, making it impossible to see the surging black energy in her eyes, which was resentment.
But when Luo Ning brought Jiang Nan over to block those people for her without hesitation, and heard Jiang Nan’s word of comfort, she was stunned. The clarity returned to her eyes, and she looked up to see the two of them being condemned by all.
The relatives were unhappy that their fun was ruined by their actions, but Jiang Nan and Luo Ning’s looks were stunning, which made some of the slightly drunk ones stare blankly, and the greed in their eyes was undisguised.
“Come on, come on, on a happy day, let’s all have a few drinks with us.” The person wanted to hand over the wine glass, reaching out to take advantage of the opportunity to touch them.
The others immediately started to jeer and laugh, while the newlyweds had already gone to the bridal chamber, and the elders watched on with cold eyes.
Luo Ning was not a pushover. She immediately knocked the wine glass away and scoffed, saying.
“A few big guys bullying a few young girls, don’t say you’re not giving us face, do you really have such a thing as face?”
Luo Ning’s curse was direct, making those troublemakers blush, but some still tried to talk tough.
“How can a young girl talk like that? Be careful you won’t get a man later.”
After he finished speaking, several people immediately agreed, and some elders also began to scold them.
“On a happy day, you’re not even willing to have a drink with us? How disappointing.”
Their words were righteous and aggressive, but they couldn’t control their gazes, which were blatantly sizing them up, making people sick.
Luo Ning didn’t tolerate them and said coldly.
“Do I need to make your little thoughts public?”
She was already tall, and wearing high heels made her even taller than some men. She was intimidating, looking down at them condescendingly.
Some people, seeing that they couldn’t win an argument with Luo Ning, began to try and drive them away.
“Go, go, go, why are you meddling in other people’s business?”
“Don’t ruin our mood…”
They thought that Luo Ning was not to be messed with, but the one behind her was a soft persimmon that they could easily handle.
As the hosts of the wedding, they also watched the relatives’ commotion with cold eyes.
The bridesmaid looked at the people who wanted to get closer again, and the naked malice in their eyes made her shiver in fear. She lowered her head and didn’t dare to speak.
But Jiang Nan suddenly knocked away a hand that was trying to touch the other person and said coldly.
“She’s not drinking.”
After saying that, she pulled the person and strode away, rushing out of the crowd, saving her past self.
Luo Ning looked at Jiang Nan’s back, smiled, and the emotions in her eyes were incomprehensible.
