She's Crazy, I Love Her - Chapter 32
Chi Yue rarely cried.
But now, the “regression” phenomenon that adults experience in intimate relationships had turned her into a child.
She wasn’t sure if she would have reacted the same way if someone else had embraced her—not Qi You, but someone else.
Chi Yue couldn’t imagine it.
She had never thought she would fall for a woman, even though she had engaged in “couple-baiting” with her teammates. Those gestures—holding hands, brushing shoulders, wrapping arms around waists—were all superficial, like her left hand touching her right.
Chi Yue had always believed she was like most people: her aversion to men was just a temporary stereotype from her formative years. She assumed that if she ever met her destined partner, she would naturally overcome those feelings of repulsion and resistance.
But then she met Qi You first.
Tracing the root of her feelings, Chi Yue blamed that drugged glass of red wine.
She vaguely thought that if she hadn’t drunk it, her body would never have accepted Qi You so quickly, let alone developed such longing.
The doctor had warned her about potential aftereffects, that she might develop some psychological trauma.
It turned out to be true.
In her hazy consciousness, a jumble of chaotic thoughts stretched endlessly, yet in the real world, it was merely the second her eyes flickered before fully waking.
Chi Yue slowly came to.
For a moment, she thought she was back in the first hotel room.
But she quickly regained her senses, pulled back the covers, and found herself still wearing only her underwear, just as she had before falling asleep.
The duvet and sheets were incredibly comfortable, a soft ivory white, made of smooth mulberry silk that felt cool against her skin. The room was dimly lit, making her want to stay in bed forever.
She didn’t want to get up, but she remembered Qi You’s promise to take her out that evening.
She still wanted to go out with Qi You. Before this trip, their meetings had been strictly formal—dinner followed by sleep.
Qi You was on the phone.
Zhou Wei asked if she absolutely had to compete today.
“Yes,” Qi You replied.
Zhou Wei sounded troubled, unable to understand, but didn’t try to dissuade her.
“Then I’ll get some of the girls to cheer you on. We can’t help with anything else, but we’ll make sure you have a killer cheerleading squad.”
Qi You shrugged, glancing at her reflection in the glass window. “I’ll hang up now.”
She put down her phone and turned around.
Chi Yue emerged from the bedroom, where the walk-in closet contained only a few temporary outfits, mostly simple, practical basics.
She had slipped into a white shirt from the closet, her legs bare, standing on tiptoe.
Qi You watched the embarrassment gradually creep across Chi Yue’s face, unable to tell if it was intentional.
Chi Yue froze under her gaze. After a long moment, she pointed to the suitcase she had opened earlier but hadn’t brought into the bedroom. “I… I need to get some clothes.”
The shirt was long enough to barely cover the tops of her thighs. Her pale skin stood out like the only bright spot in the dimly lit room.
Qi You walked over. “Did you sleep well?”
Chi Yue hummed in response.
Qi You cupped her face and naturally lowered her head to kiss her lips, her tongue tasting the refreshing mint.
“Did you brush your teeth?”
Chi Yue murmured another soft affirmative.
Qi You massaged her neck and leaned in to gently suck on it.
They sank onto the sofa, Chi Yue straddling her lap with her legs parted, barely sitting on her.
Qi You loved this position.
Qi You stroked Chi Yue’s leg, her hand gliding upward to grasp her waist—a slender, boneless curve, smooth and supple, with a texture that was almost addictive to the touch.
Chi Yue’s hand rested on Qi You’s shoulder, her full lips tinted pink and glistening with moisture, soft and tender when bitten.
Qi You brushed Chi Yue’s stray strands of hair behind her ear, peppering her with intermittent kisses as she gazed into her eyes.
Because of their position, Chi Yue was slightly taller, her head tilted down as she shyly met Qi You’s gaze.
Qi You’s fingers gradually tightened, leaving faint imprints on Chi Yue’s pale skin. “Let’s do it once?”
Chi Yue’s pupils trembled slightly. Her hand, still resting on Qi You’s shoulder, unconsciously traced a line down her neck.
It was evening, the sky overcast. Though the living room lights were off, the fading daylight filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows still illuminated the room enough to see.
Chi Yue’s eyes grew moist as Qi You’s hands slipped beneath her shirt. When the touches were gentle, Chi Yue wrapped her arms around Qi You’s neck and hummed softly. When the pressure increased, she arched her back.
Qi You had her in her grasp.
On the cool living room wall, two intimately entwined figures were projected, accompanied by hushed whispers and stolen breaths.
The shadows deepened.
Afterward, they lay entangled on the sofa, locked in a lingering embrace.
Chi Yue buried her face in the hollow of Qi You’s neck, their bodies pressed together in intimate contact, their breaths hot and hearts pounding as they poured their trembling energy into each other.
After a long embrace, Qi You gently patted Chi Yue’s back. “Go wash up.”
Chi Yue’s fingers hooked around the collar of Qi You’s shirt at the back of her neck. She paused before releasing her grip and standing up, her body swaying slightly.
Qi You reached out to steady her by the waist.
Finally, they returned to the bedroom together.
Qi You didn’t go to the bathroom. She washed her hands and changed her clothes; Chi Yue had bitten through the shoulder of her shirt, soaking it, and her pants were also stained.
Chi Yue had only brought two outfits: a dress and a pantsuit. She asked Qi You, “Where are we going later? Which should I wear?”
“We’re going to the club to drive. Wear—” Qi You paused, glancing at the black T-shirt and long pants. “Wear this. It’s more practical.”
There weren’t many accessories here, so Qi You gave Chi Yue the South Sea pearl earrings she had worn earlier that day.
Chi Yue obediently put them on, then ran back to ask, “Should I tie my hair up or leave it down?”
“Tie it up,” Qi You replied.
Chi Yue returned to the mirror and tied her hair up.
Finally, they left the apartment.
“Are we picking up a new car?” Chi Yue asked, leaning back in the passenger seat and turning to face Qi You.
“It’s for racing,” Qi You said. “Just for fun with friends.”
Chi Yue exclaimed in surprise, “Racing? You participate too?”
Qi You nodded. “Mm-hmm.”
Chi Yue, unfamiliar with racing, could only marvel, “You’re a race car driver?”
“I guess so,” Qi You replied. “I just got my license a few days ago.”
“That’s amazing!” Chi Yue praised without reservation. “I don’t even have a driver’s license yet.”
Qi You turned to look at her. “After filming wraps, I’ll give you time to learn.”
Chi Yue’s eyes curved into crescents. “Okay,” she agreed.
The club was located in the suburbs, and traffic was heavy during rush hour, so Qi You drove slowly.
Chi Yue couldn’t believe someone who drove so steadily on the road could also race cars. But then she thought, if it was just for fun, it would be quite an interesting experience.
She traced patterns on her seatbelt with her finger and asked, “Are all the people going today your friends?”
“Some of them,” Qi You replied.
“Oh,” Chi Yue said.
“Zhou Wei will be there too,” Qi You added. “Remember her?”
Chi Yue paused for a moment. “The short-haired girl I met at the Pei Family gathering?”
Qi You nodded. “Pei Yi will be there too.”
Chi Yue paused again, then let out a soft “Oh,” and glanced up at him, a hint of hidden observation in her eyes.
Qi You turned to meet her gaze.
After a long moment, he looked back at the road ahead.
Today was a plot point. Everyone would be there, and Chi Yue—of course—had to be there too.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, she would either hear that warning again tonight or die outright.
Who will die?
Qi You tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, her eyes flickering with hidden thoughts.
The club was members-only, with no public admission. The front section housed a recreational clubhouse, while the racetrack lay behind.
Having arrived early, Qi You took Chi Yue upstairs for a meal first.
Chi Yue noticed that Qi You barely ate anything, yet she sat at the table for every meal, drank water, and moved her chopsticks as if—as if deliberately trying to appear like an ordinary person.
A message from Zhou Wei on her phone announced their arrival and that they were heading straight to the grandstand.
Qi You replied with a curt “Okay” and looked up.
Chi Yue quickly lowered her head.
Qi You pocketed her phone and asked, “Finished eating?”
Chi Yue set down her soup bowl. “Yes.”
After the meal, they skipped the grandstand and went straight down to warm up their cars.
As soon as they stepped out of the car, Zhou Wei and her group rushed over to join them. All were strikingly attractive young people, their restlessness easily stirred by the roar of engines on the track, drawing sidelong glances from other racers.
“If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have remembered this place in a million years,” Zhou Wei said, approaching.
Today’s main event featured Pei Yi and Guan Zhaobin, both six or seven years older than Qi You and her group—practically different generations in the world of leisure and entertainment.
Here, people were categorized not by age or talent, but by family background.
Soon, Guan Zhaobin made a point of approaching them, his tone warm and friendly. “Miss Qi, today’s just a casual run among friends. No need to get competitive, alright? If anything happens—a scratch or a bump—I couldn’t bear the responsibility.”
Qi You had already changed into her black racing suit. Her long legs, narrow waist, and straight back accentuated her striking figure. With her hair pulled back, her profile was cool, almost severe.
She nodded slightly. “Naturally.”
Zhou Wei, who had been studying Chi Yue from behind, smiled warmly. “Miss Chi, you came with Qi You?”
Chi Yue hummed in agreement, returning the polite smile. “Just call me Chi Yue.”
“Chi Yue,” Zhou Wei said smoothly, even looping her arm through Chi Yue’s. “How rare! Qi You hardly ever brings anyone out to play. You’re the first in years.”
Chi Yue couldn’t tell if Zhou Wei was being genuine, but her immediate reaction was discomfort.
Too intimate.
Chi Yue pretended to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, subtly withdrawing her arm. “Is that so? I didn’t know.”
Sensing her resistance, Zhou Wei’s tone remained unchanged. “Yes, it is.”
She even glanced at Chi Yue’s ear.
Chi Yue suddenly wanted to let her hair down again, but she refrained, standing sideways with an air of composure.
Zhou Wei stepped back, smiling. “Miss Chi, you really are from the entertainment industry. Your sense of style is amazing—you can make even simple clothes look so unique. You’ll have to teach me someday.”
It wasn’t entirely sarcastic. Chi Yue’s all-black outfit, paired with only a strand of Australian South Sea white pearls, struck a perfect balance of sweetness, coolness, and sophistication.
Chi Yue smiled faintly. “Miss Zhou, you’re naturally beautiful. You don’t need to put in much effort.”
Zhou Wei covered her mouth, laughing. “Miss Chi, you’re so good with words.”
Qi You turned to look at them and waved.
Chi Yue walked over.
Zhou Wei followed.
Qi You took off her wristwatch and handed it to Chi Yue.
Zhou Wei clicked her tongue loudly. Just as she was about to speak, she caught Pei Yi approaching from the corner of her eye.
Zhou Wei nudged Qi You’s shoulder and whispered, “Did you know Pei and Guan are going to fight tonight?”
Qi You replied casually, “I know.”
“You knew that too?” Zhou Wei’s initial surprise turned to confusion. “If you knew, why did you come to join the chaos?”
Qi You remained silent.
Pei Yi glanced over and frowned slightly at the sight of Chi Yue.
Qi You noticed him looking at Chi Yue.
She tilted her head, her expression unchanged.
After a moment, Pei Yi approached to greet them.
Standing nearby, Zhou Wei whispered to Chi Yue, “Do you know why Qi You came to the race?”
Chi Yue shook her head.
Chi Yue paused and whispered to Zhou Wei, “Why are Pei and Guan fighting?”
Zhou Wei glanced at her, his voice dropping even lower. “They have a long-standing feud. Pei was abroad all this time, but now that he’s back, he’s finally settling scores.”
“What kind of feud?” Chi Yue asked.
Zhou Wei hesitated, then countered, “What’s your relationship with Qi You?”
Chi Yue pursed her lips. “I’m her employee.”
Zhou Wei scoffed. “An employee she keeps giving pearls to?”
Chi Yue fell silent.
Zhou Wei snorted coldly.
“I signed a contract…” Chi Yue mumbled.
Zhou Wei crossed his arms and stared her down.
Feeling guilty, Chi Yue averted her gaze.
After a tense two-second stare, Zhou Wei leaned closer and finished the gossip: “The feud started when those two were street racing. Someone got hurt—I heard it was Pei Yi’s girlfriend. Pei left the country afterward and didn’t come back for nearly ten years.”
Nearby, racers began dismounting their vehicles.
Qi You walked toward Chi Yue against the flow of the crowd.
Chi Yue watched her approach.
For a moment, the world seemed to blur, all surrounding sounds fading into a distant, hollow echo.
Qi You cupped Chi Yue’s face, leaned in, and sucked on her lips, her eyes glowing crimson with an inexplicable excitement.
She seemed… strange.
Her words were strange too.
She said, “Protagonist, grant me some good luck, please?”
