She's Crazy, I Love Her - Chapter 4
After the housekeeping service replaced the entire set of bedding and took away the clothes for washing, they closed the door.
Qi You hung up the phone with her family doctor, rubbing her temples. The brief calm had dissipated, and the sensation of insects gnawing at her body returned.
This wasn’t just from being drunk.
She was absolutely certain she had been fully conscious the entire time. In fact, her mind was so clear that she remembered every detail of what had happened on the bed with perfect clarity.
Entanglement, kisses, invasion, grinding.
It wasn’t just physical pleasure; there was a psychological thrill as well.
Is it because I’m the female lead? Qi You wondered. Is that why it felt so… good?
She raised her hand, examining it under the light.
Even she had to admit it was a beautiful hand—slender fingers, distinct knuckles, and nails kept short due to her bad habit, their surfaces a natural pink that turned pale when she gripped something tightly.
It was this hand that Chi Yue had gasped into, her watery eyes gazing up at Qi You with helplessness, urgency, pleading, and suppressed sobs.
That tormented yet restrained allure… Qi You couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret. Perhaps she should have done this sooner.
As she thought this, she couldn’t help but smile softly.
The floor-to-ceiling window reflected her face, expressionless.
Chi Yue stayed in the bathroom for so long that Qi You eventually knocked on the door.
The door opened to reveal Chi Yue wrapped in a bathrobe, her hair still dripping wet.
“Dry your hair,” Qi You said.
The dry-cleaned clothes were returned in less than an hour. When Chi Yue emerged from the bathroom, her hair dry, Qi You was wearing only her underwear.
Flustered, Chi Yue’s eyes darted across Qi You’s body, catching only a blurred outline before she hastily looked away.
After a few seconds, she cautiously raised her gaze. “Are you… leaving?”
Qi You was reaching for a shirt when she realized a button was missing. She glanced at Chi Yue.
Chi Yue, unnerved by the look, quickly said, “I was just asking. I need to go back too.”
“I’ve called a doctor,” Qi You replied. “She’ll be here around eight. Wait for her to examine you before you leave.”
“A doctor?” Chi Yue blinked in surprise. “That’s not necessary. I can go to the hospital myself.”
Qi You’s voice was flat. “You can’t call the police, but you can go to the hospital and tell a doctor you were drugged?”
Chi Yue pressed her lips together tightly.
“I called our family doctor,” Qi You said. “She’s bound by a confidentiality agreement. I want her to check you over to make sure there are no lingering effects from the drug.”
It was a perfectly reasonable, even considerate, request.
Chi Yue moved her lips, and after a long moment, her voice barely audible, she whispered, “Thank you.”
Qi You said nothing, simply paused what she was doing and turned to meet her gaze.
Her eyes possessed an unnerving intensity, radiating a subtle pressure that made Chi Yue instinctively want to look away. But she forced herself to hold her ground, refusing to appear overly timid.
After a pause, Qi You said, “It’s still early. You could sleep a bit longer.”
Chi Yue shook her head.
“Not tired?” Qi You asked.
How could she not be tired?
She was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. Her back ached, her stomach cramped, her head throbbed, and her mind felt like mush. Every inch of her body throbbed with discomfort.
Qi You watched her with leisurely interest, and Chi Yue could barely withstand the weight of her gaze.
Just as she was about to turn away, Qi You beckoned her over. “Come here.”
Chi Yue didn’t move.
“A button came loose,” Qi You said, tugging at her shirt collar. “Help me with it.”
Only then did Chi Yue approach.
Qi You was only wearing a shirt, her bare legs exposed. The shirt hung loosely, fastened by just the bottom two buttons. The fabric draped beautifully, the hem falling perfectly to the base of her thighs.
Her legs were long, her skin not the milky white of Chi Yue’s, but a textured, peach-toned hue—smooth, clean, with just the right amount of muscle definition along the outer thighs.
Qi You handed her the shirt’s cufflinks, which the dry cleaner had removed before cleaning. The emerald-cut gems were framed by intricate gold filigree, studded with tiny diamonds.
Chi Yue silently accepted them.
Qi You leaned against the nearby table, the soft shirt gaping open to reveal the curve of her chest and a glimpse of a seamless black bra.
Chi Yue didn’t remember breaking the shirt’s button, but she couldn’t help holding her breath, her eyes frozen in place.
How strange. Just moments ago, they had been so close they seemed about to merge into one. Now, a single glance felt like an unbearable breach of boundaries.
Or perhaps that’s just how I feel, Chi Yue thought.
Holding the cufflinks in one hand, Chi Yue reached out to adjust Qi You’s collar. The smooth fabric slipped through her fingers.
Suddenly, Qi You shifted her weight, leaning back against the table’s edge and stretching her legs out.
Chi Yue glanced up, her eyes darting quickly to Qi You.
Qi You was staring intently at her.
The realization made Chi Yue’s fingers tremble slightly.
Qi You was indeed studying her with focused intensity, observing her demurely lowered gaze and the particularly docile expression in her eyes.
Chi Yue was still young, lacking the polished “star” aura honed by years of red-carpet appearances. Instead of the striking, glamorous beauty she would possess in a few years, she resembled an unpolished jade, glistening with moisture—pure, translucent, and exquisitely beautiful. Qi You felt an almost irresistible urge to hold her in his hands and play with her.
Or perhaps, having just played with her, he was now savoring the lingering aftertaste.
They were standing close enough for Qi You to catch the faint herbal scent of the hotel’s shampoo clinging to her hair. Though he used the same product, it smelled subtly different on her.
Chi Yue’s hair was well-maintained—thick, soft, and smooth, falling smoothly over her shoulders without excessive volume after being blow-dried.
She wore a bathrobe, its overlapping lapels revealing little skin. Yet from Qi You’s angle, he could still glimpse her flushed neck and a sliver of her collarbone—pale, slender, and straight, with the delicate curve of her collarbone subtly protruding.
A clear bite mark was visible on her skin.
Qi You thought Chi Yue looked beautiful without clothes, but even dressed like this, she was undeniably alluring.
Qi You shifted slightly, her leg brushing against Chi Yue’s, a small patch of skin touching.
Chi Yue’s lips tightened instantly.
Qi You’s gaze fell to her lips. “Have you made up your mind?” she asked.
Chi Yue’s eyelashes fluttered. She relaxed her lips, and color rushed back into them.
“Wh-what?” she stammered.
Qi You raised a hand and touched the bite mark on Chi Yue’s collarbone. She hadn’t realized she’d bitten so hard at the time, only that Chi Yue’s cries had sounded particularly sweet.
Chi Yue flinched, glancing at Qi You in a panic, her voice strained. “I haven’t made up my mind.”
Qi You said nothing more.
Chi Yue lowered her head again, carefully threading the cufflink through the buttonhole. Her slender fingers curled inward, as if afraid to brush against Qi You’s skin.
After a moment, Chi Yue released her hand, stepped back, and said, “It’s done.”
Qi You glanced down, tugged at her collar, and, finding nothing amiss, gave a curt nod.
But Chi Yue called out, “President Qi.”
Qi You looked up.
Chi Yue said, “I… I’m really grateful you didn’t just hand me over to the hotel last night.”
Qi You’s lips twitched slightly.
Chi Yue took a deep breath and continued, “But now that things have gone this far, whether I was willing or not, at least from your perspective, everything that happened today was consensual. I didn’t force you into anything.”
“So, about being your lover… I won’t consider it, and I can’t do it.”
“President Qi, let’s just treat this as a one-night stand, a 419. Okay?”
Her voice trailed off at the end, her tone carrying a hint of pleading.
Qi You’s expression remained unchanged. After she finished speaking, she simply lowered her eyes and fell silent.
“Okay?” Chi Yue asked again.
Qi You turned away, picked up the necklace she had removed earlier from the desk. It was gold, with a delicate chain and an intricately carved snake’s head pendant, its emerald eyes gleaming with an eerie intensity.
Qi You said, “I’m giving this to you.”
Chi Yue was taken aback.
Qi You continued, “Miss Chi hasn’t thought this through clearly yet.”
Chi Yue’s eyes widened slightly, and she stammered, “I…”
“Once you’ve made up your mind,” Qi You said, her fingers gently swaying, causing the necklace in her hand to sway with her movement, “you can return it to me.”
“I don’t want it,” Chi Yue replied.
Qi You didn’t argue. She placed the necklace back on the table.
“President Qi!” Chi Yue exclaimed urgently.
Qi You glanced at her, then slowly and deliberately fastened the wristwatch on the table to her wrist, the clasp clicking shut with a faint click.
Chi Yue remained silent.
Qi You didn’t lose her temper. Instead, she asked, “Miss Chi, do you even know my name?”
Chi Yue froze, paused, and finally admitted, “I’ve forgotten.”
Liu Yifang had introduced her to Qi You both before and after the dinner, but Chi Yue only remembered the surname, addressing her as everyone else did.
Before this encounter, she had never even met President Qi in person.
Unfazed, Qi You rummaged through the scattered items on the table, retrieved a business card holder, extracted a card, and slid it to the edge of the table with two fingers.
Chi Yue walked over, picked it up, and examined it.
The thin card featured the Wenhui Media logo on the front and personal information on the back.
— Qi You.
Qi You left quickly, and the vast hotel suite fell silent.
Chi Yue stared at the small golden lump on the black marble table. Her dry eyes began to ache, but she refused to cry, slowly sinking onto the sofa.
She had a high pain tolerance, but now that she was alone, the strange sensations in her body could no longer be suppressed. The discomfort grew relentless.
Chi Yue pressed her abdomen. Her lower abdomen was bloated and painful, her lower back ached, and the foreign sensation deep within her body persisted. Only curling up seemed to offer any relief.
Qi You had told her to consider it.
Chi Yue wasn’t sure what consequences her refusal would bring.
But she had no choice but to wait for the family doctor Qi You had mentioned. She was terrified by the loss of control over her body after taking the drug last night. She didn’t know what she had ingested—she feared it was poison, or something else, something addictive.
She couldn’t understand why Liu Yifang, with whom she had collaborated harmoniously for two years, would do this to her.
Was Zhao Ming really dead? Would he seek revenge? But he was the one who had been disgusting and vile.
Qi You—
Her body felt utterly exhausted, as if she had been run over. It was impossible to sleep peacefully. The moment the room phone rang, she jolted awake.
The doctor Qi You had summoned arrived promptly and proved to be highly professional. Upon meeting Chi Yue, she immediately showed her medical license and refrained from asking too many questions about the marks on her body. After carefully examining Chi Yue’s eyes and tongue, measuring several vital signs, and drawing bl00d, the doctor reassured her, “It’s just for testing. We need to analyze your bl00d for any drug residues.”
Reluctantly, Chi Yue allowed the doctor to draw two vials of bl00d, which were placed in the medical kit.
The doctor prescribed antipyretics and sedatives, instructing Chi Yue to drink plenty of water and rest well. She also provided an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving ointment.
“I’ll use the medicine when I get home,” Chi Yue murmured.
The doctor patiently asked, “Do you want to go home now? Miss Qi instructed me to take you back. Is there someone at home to care for you? This room has been paid for for two more days, so you can rest here if you prefer.”
“I’ll go home now,” Chi Yue insisted.
The doctor nodded and began packing her medical kit.
Before leaving, she checked the room and picked up the necklace from the table, handing it to Chi Yue. “You forgot this.”
Chi Yue stared blankly for a moment before reaching out to take it.
