- Chapter 1.2 - Getting On The Bridal Sedan By Mistake
Yan Yiyi’s eyes widened in shock. She was full of anger. She had completely underestimated this gentle-looking Miss Mu!
The bride gave her a big grin. “Miss Yan, I’m just paying you back. You don’t need to return any favors now.”
She quickly took off her wedding dress and phoenix crown, ignoring Yan Yiyi’s warning look, and then slowly put them on Yan Yiyi.
“This wedding was only for show anyway. Don’t worry. We won’t actually complete the ceremony. I’ll leave now, and you can handle the rest.”
She finished dressing Yan Yiyi and placed the red veil over her head. Then she looked outside and shouted, “Stop the sedan! It’s shaking too much, I feel dizzy!”
The sedan stopped quickly.
She looked at the large side window of the sedan. Today’s sedan was specially made with wide windows, just in case the door couldn’t open. It was the perfect escape route.
She pulled out a small smoke bomb from her sleeve and flicked it outside into the crowd.
“Lift the sedan! ” she shouted as the smoke filled the air.
With that, the bride jumped out of the sedan and disappeared into the trees.
Outside, people were confused by the smoke. Someone lifted the curtain and saw that the bride was still “sitting” inside. They let out a sigh and ordered, “Lift the sedan!”
Yan Yiyi couldn’t move or speak. Her pressure points were still blocked. She was full of regret and anger. She had always fooled others, but today she had been tricked!
She didn’t even know how to get out of this situation, so how could she have the time to think about revenge? The sedan shook as it was carried forward. She didn’t even notice when it stopped again.
Suddenly, she heard music, shouting, and lots of noise. They had reached the Chu family in the capital.
She began to panic. Her hands were sweating. The Mu girl said they wouldn’t finish the ceremony, but who knew if that was true? What if they really made her kneel and enter the bridal room?
Footsteps approached the sedan, and the curtain was lifted. A hand reached inside—it was a long, fair, and elegant one clearly belonging to a rich man.
Yan Yiyi didn’t move.
The man paused, then gently took her hand. His fingers were warm and dry. He seemed surprised for a moment, then flipped her wrist slightly and looked at her closely. But he didn’t lift the red veil. Instead, he held her hand tighter and led her out of the sedan.
She was still under the pressure spell and couldn’t move or speak. The veil covered her face, so she couldn’t even make eye contact.
The man laughed softly.
“So that’s how it is,” he said lazily.
Before she understood what was happening, he wrapped his arm around her waist and lifted her into his arms. The crowd gasped. Yan Yiyi’s face turned bright red.
A faint scent of clean tea gently surrounded the man. This smell?
Yan Yiyi frowned. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t remember where she had smelled it before.
“The groom and bride are here. Get ready for the wedding ceremony!”
As Yan Yiyi was lost in thought because of the tea scent, a child’s happy voice entered her ears. At the same time, her body, which had been hanging in the air, was slowly placed down. However, the pressure points on her body were still not released.
She had been brought to the wedding hall for no reason. Yan Yiyi felt very nervous and didn’t know what to do. She tried her best to break free from the sealed pressure points. The energy in her body stirred, but she still couldn’t find the right way to escape.
Her stiff hand was pushed into a red ribbon, but it slipped off because she couldn’t hold it well. That clean, fair hand picked up the red ribbon again and gently wrapped it around her hand. It went around twice and, in the end, even tied a neat knot.
