Sister, Choose Me, I'm Super Sweet [Esports] - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: New Fire vs RG
The enemy mid-laner had already discovered that Tong Yi and Qu Feng were stealing their red buff. However, their jungler was still clearing his blue buff.
The RG team had not anticipated New Fire’s jungle invasion at all. The jungler hero Qu Feng had chosen was not strong in the early game and didn’t have jungle invasion capabilities. But who would have thought that Tong Yi would completely abandon the first wave of mid-lane minions and go invade the jungle with the jungler?
At this point, RG’s jungler and support, who had received a signal from their mid-laner, rushed over. But the jungler had to finish his blue buff first, and the support was coming from the bottom lane, so it would take them a while to get there.
“Are you serious? They dare to invade with this hero,” RG’s jungler, A Heng, said with annoyance.
Tong Yi, however, calmly continued to command. “Little Feng, kite the red buff and attack it. Little Yue, don’t get tangled up with the enemy mid-laner. Finish your wave and go straight to the bottom lane. Sister Xia, don’t let the top laner enter our jungle.”
The players who were called out quickly responded and acted according to Tong Yi’s commands.
Xu Yue’s marksman hero was very strong in the early game and had great lane-clearing abilities. Because of this, RG’s mid-laner was pushed under her tower and didn’t dare to come out to farm minions. She could only wait for the minions to enter the tower.
RG’s mid-laner saw that the jungler and marksman couldn’t get there right away and wanted to go to the jungle alone to stop Tong Yi and Qu Feng from stealing the red buff, but she didn’t want to lose this wave of minions. So everyone saw RG’s mid-laner moving back and forth under the defense tower on the big screen, which was quite funny.
Commentator A was amused. “Haha, New Fire’s move was really something…”
Commentator B was also holding back a laugh. “It’s making RG’s mid-laner so conflicted, making her jump back and forth.”
The audience’s cursing in the live stream was not as heavy anymore.
I hope New Fire can take advantage of this and not get hammered again.
Even though winning or losing this game won’t change the outcome for you, at least you won’t be completely humiliated.
While RG’s mid-laner was still hesitating, moon had quickly finished clearing the minion wave, taking a little bit of the enemy mid-laner’s health, and then went to the bottom lane to continue farming without hesitation.
RG’s mid-laner had no other choice. There were only two minions left. She quickly cleared them and then went to the jungle to stop Tong Yi. But she was too late. The red buff had already been cleared by Qu Feng.
“Damn it, the red buff is gone,” RG’s mid-laner said, a little angry. She felt that her play was a bit embarrassing.
At the same time, a circular ring of ice formed under RG’s mid-laner’s feet, freezing her hero in place.
The hero Tong Yi had chosen, LeafyHero, was a “support-focused” mid-laner who specialized in crowd control. Her overall appearance was that of a Daoist nun in white robes, holding a horsetail whisk, which gave her a cold and detached feel.
LeafyHero’s W skill summons a circular ice ring in a designated area. After a short delay, it can freeze enemies within the ring for 2.5 seconds and deal a certain amount of magic damage. This hero has hard crowd control and area-of-effect crowd control, but the area-of-effect crowd control is difficult to land and requires triggering her passive, which is related to her E skill.
Any enemy hit by LeafyHero’s skills or enhanced basic attacks will gain a layer of Ice Mark, which lasts for 8 seconds. Three layers will be stacked. LeafyHero’s E skill has two forms. In its normal state, it releases a snow crane in a designated area, dealing magic damage to enemies and slowing their movement and attack speed.
If at this time, an enemy has been stacked with three layers of Ice Marks by LeafyHero, the E skill will switch to a special state. The snow crane will turn into a white ribbon that binds the enemy with three marks in place for 2 seconds. This special state’s binding is a hard crowd control and cannot be cleansed.
However, if multiple enemies are stacked with marks at the same time, and the special-state E skill is used before the marks disappear, the ribbon will bind all marked enemies together. The duration will increase by 0.5 seconds for each additional enemy. At this point, LeafyHero’s blizzard ultimate is the perfect follow-up.
This hero’s crowd control sounds explosive, but it’s difficult to execute in practice because teams that play against LeafyHero will always spread out to avoid having multiple heroes stacked with Ice Marks.
Since LeafyHero’s skills require prediction, a mid-laner with poor game sense will generally not use LeafyHero in a match. So far, in the entire PPL league, Tong Yi’s LeafyHero has successfully stacked marks on the most enemies at the same time, with a maximum of four. She directly bound the four enemies in place for 3.5 seconds, which resulted in a team wipe.
LeafyHero’s weaknesses are also obvious. She has low health, no mobility, poor self-preservation, and insufficient damage, so she basically needs teammates to deal the damage. The most crucial part is that it’s very difficult to pull off the move of simultaneously stacking marks on multiple people.
At this moment, RG’s mid-laner had been frozen by Tong Yi’s W skill. Qu Feng wanted to go up to deal damage, but she heard Tong Yi say calmly, “Go.” So Qu Feng immediately gave up on the idea of fighting and quickly left, heading toward her own blue side.
As soon as the freeze effect on RG’s mid-laner disappeared, their jungler and support had also arrived, but Tong Yi and Qu Feng had already left. They could only clear the remaining small camps.
Did I see that right? Was the jungler just about to fight?
Good thing they didn’t, otherwise the enemy jungler and support would have arrived. A 2v3 would have been impossible to win, and Captain Tong had no skills left.
maple is always like this, with very poor game sense. It’s a good thing she left this time, otherwise she would have died again.
After stealing RG’s red buff, Qu Feng quickly returned to her own blue side to continue farming. Tong Yi, on the other hand, returned to the mid-lane. The marksman, moon, had successfully cleared all the minions in her lane. At this point, moon, who had eaten two waves of minions alone, had a gold lead over the RG marksman.
Additionally, the hero moon had chosen was very strong in the early game. She quickly lowered the enemy marksman’s health, forcing them to go home to heal. Wen Xia, on the other hand, had already gone to their red side to start clearing the red buff when moon arrived at the bottom lane.
After seeing the RG marksman go home, moon went straight to the red side and took the red buff that the support had helped her clear.
Commentator A: “New Fire has had a very smooth start. The jungler has two buffs, and the marksman has cleared two lanes of minions and also has a red buff.”
Commentator B: “They’ve had such a great start in the early game. I hope New Fire can seize this opportunity and win this match.”
Commentator A: “To be honest, New Fire’s performance this season has been very disappointing. They’ve been losing more than winning, but New Fire still has a solid foundation.”
Alright, you two commentators don’t have to make excuses for New Fire.
High emotional intelligence: disappointing. Low emotional intelligence: trash beyond belief.
What do you mean they have a solid foundation? If they did, they wouldn’t have been playing so poorly for two consecutive years. After they changed both their jungler and marksman carries, New Fire is completely finished. Captain Tong is just as bad!
Don’t talk about Little Yi. She’s doing her best as a mid-laner, always carrying the team. At least her skill level has always been consistent.
Even like this, Tong Yi’s fans are still defending her. If she were so good, another team would have bought her. She chose to re-sign with New Fire this year because no other team wanted her, right?
The match continued. So far, everything was going smoothly. There were no team fights or kills. Tong Yi was basically giving her gold to the jungler. The mid-lane minions were either shared between her and Qu Feng or given entirely to Qu Feng. Tong Yi, on the other hand, was roaming the entire map, helping her teammates gain an advantage.
From the start, Tong Yi chose the LeafyHero hero to give more gold to the jungler and marksman because she could be a pure “support player” and didn’t rely on equipment as much.
After all, the resources in a game are limited, so how they are allocated is very important. Usually, you only choose to “fatten up” two carries. Only in a game that’s going very well will the mid, jungle, and marksman’s gold be roughly equal.
At the five-minute mark, the first small dragon spawned in the dragon pit. A small team fight broke out in the dragon pit, and the dragon was kited out of the pit several times.
Commentator A: “The situation is a bit tense. You can tell both teams are playing very cautiously. Cloud has gone in to initiate a team fight, and Captain Tong has followed up with a W skill, freezing two people!”
After a back-and-forth, RG’s jungler was the first to be killed by Qu Feng.
—First Bl00d!
—NewFire.maple [AzureMaiden] has defeated RG.A Heng [Abyssal]。
At the same time, Tong Yi also fell, taking the RG jungler with her.
—RG.A Heng Abyssal has defeated NewFire.LittleYi LeafyHero!
Commentator B: “A Heng still managed to get Captain Tong’s kill a second before she fell. Captain Tong has no mobility and very low gold, so it’s normal for her to be the first one killed. But she used her crowd control to help maple send A Heng home. Now this small dragon should belong to New Fire.”
Commentator A: “Of course, since only maple has Smite now.”
“Take the dragon,” Tong Yi said to Qu Feng, looking at the gray screen in front of her.
“Okay, Captain,” Qu Feng replied quickly. Her voice was strained, and you could tell she was very nervous.
At this point, RG’s mid-laner and top laner were still on the field. New Fire’s jungler and top laner were constantly fighting and kiting them, and both teams’ marksman and support were on their way to provide backup. No matter how you looked at it, with the jungler on New Fire’s side, they would definitely get this small dragon.
Commentator A: “It looks like this dragon will definitely go to New Fire.”
Commentator B: “Yes, and it wasn’t for nothing that Captain Tong sacrificed herself to take down the enemy jungler… maple has used Smite! Wait! What the hell happened?”
Qu Feng used Smite at the wrong time. After Smite was used, the dragon was left with a sliver of health. Just then, RG’s mid-laner’s skill flew over and took the dragon. As the announcement bar appeared, it was clear that the heroes near the dragon pit were all stunned. Even RG’s mid-laner was visibly dazed.
