Chapter 27: I’ve Liked You for a Long Time
Yang Yuyang didn’t have time to be shocked. He first dragged the two guilty cats out for a lecture: “You two little brats! Do you know you’ve caused huge trouble! How many times have I told you not to enter the study? Disobedient, disobedient! I’ll teach you to be disobedient!”
Fanfan and Zhouzhou huddled together, trembling. They had smelled Yang Yuyang’s scent when passing the study. After entering, they saw the room full of Yang Yuyang-related items, which was why they dared to be mischievous.
Yang Yuyang poked their little heads with his finger. Seeing their pitiful state, his heart softened: “I won’t hit you, but I’m confiscating your treats for three days! Go reflect in the litter box!”
After speaking, he locked the small room, preventing them from running out and stealing snacks.
He slowly made his way to the study door. You Wenchen was still inside, trying to save his photos.
Yang Yuyang waited outside for more than half an hour before You Wenchen walked out.
His expression had been somewhat grim, but it softened immediately upon seeing Yang Yuyang.
“Why didn’t you come in?”
“You said before that I couldn’t enter this room. I’m sorry. I didn’t keep them under control.” Yang Yuyang meekly lowered his head, admitting his mistake.
You Wenchen couldn’t bear to blame him. He opened his arms and embraced him: “I didn’t let you in before because your things were hidden inside.”
Yang Yuyang was just about to ask about this: “Why… are all my things inside?”
During the past half hour, he had recalled the mentions of a secret crush by Si Li and Wang Dahai, and a bold idea had formed in his mind. Yet, he thought it unlikely. With You Wenchen’s status, why would he need a secret crush?
You Wenchen no longer hid the truth: “Because I liked you a long time ago. A very, very long time ago.”
He anxiously waited for Yang Yuyang’s reaction, afraid Yang Yuyang would think he was a pervert or a stalker.
Yang Yuyang’s reaction was unexpected: “Then why didn’t you find me sooner! If you had been more proactive, we might be celebrating our third anniversary now.”
He had desperately wanted to date during college but could never find the right person.
You Wenchen confessed truthfully: “My emotions were unstable before. I was afraid of scaring you.”
Yang Yuyang was enjoying his wonderful college life then. You Wenchen didn’t want to become a burden to him.
Yang Yuyang hugged him tightly: “No matter how stable or unstable you are, I still like you.”
You Wenchen’s bad mood vanished because of his words: “I like you too.”
“Can I go inside and look?” He wanted to see exactly how much You Wenchen had collected.
You Wenchen hesitated but eventually agreed.
Yang Yuyang walked into the small room. It looked like a small ten-square-meter room from the outside, but once inside, he realized it was much larger than expected.
Yang Yuyang looked at the item on the desk and exclaimed: “You, you, you were my top fan?!”
On the desk was an ugly-cute doll. Yang Yuyang had posted on Weibo complaining about how ugly the doll was after making it. Fans strongly demanded he give it away. He randomly picked one person to send it to, and that person was the top fan.
You Wenchen didn’t deny it.
Yang Yuyang’s jaw dropped. Looking at it this way, the amount of money You Wenchen spent on him was even more immeasurable.
“My clothes?” Yang Yuyang also found clothes he had wanted to throw away a few days ago. Why were they here?
You Wenchen’s calm, handsome face was slightly flushed: “I couldn’t bear to throw them away.”
He couldn’t bear to throw away anything belonging to Yang Yuyang. Everything that could be saved was secretly preserved.
Seeing Yang Yuyang remain silent, You Wenchen felt anxious, afraid he thought he was too much of a pervert.
After a long time, Yang Yuyang suddenly laughed, wrapping his arms around You Wenchen’s waist: “I thought you weren’t interested in me.”
“Why would you think that?” His interest in Yang Yuyang was practically written on his face.
“When I confessed successfully yesterday, you didn’t even kiss me. I thought you wanted a Platonic relationship.”
“I was too excited.” He simply couldn’t think. His mind was filled with the ecstasy of being confessed to.
Yang Yuyang leaned closer to him: “Are you still excited now?”
You Wenchen froze for a moment, understanding his meaning.
…The next day.
“What’s gotten into you now?” Mu Junyu woke up to a barrage of ninety-nine of Yang Yuyang’s emojis, which made his phone freeze.
Yang Yuyang called him to confront him: “You knew You Wenchen had a crush on me, and you didn’t tell me!”
Mu Junyu yawned: “If I told you at the beginning, I was afraid you’d run away.”
“How is that possible! My goodness, You Wenchen! If you had told me from the start, I would have been overjoyed.” Who wouldn’t be excited about such a high-quality handsome guy having a crush on them?
“You’re too shallow about looks.” Mu Junyu condemned him.
“Yes, I’m shallow. I was going to tell you who your Second Brother is dating, but now, forget it.” After saying that, Yang Yuyang hung up and turned on airplane mode, effectively torturing Mu Junyu.
“Yangyang, why are you up so early today?”
Yang Yuyang ran to him, stood on his toes, and gave him a kiss: “I wake up early so I can see you sooner.”
He once had a friend who woke up at five in the morning just to spend more time with her boyfriend. He had mocked her for being “love-brained.”
Now, questioning love-brained, understanding love-brained, surpassing love-brained.
You Wenchen loved his little lover’s spontaneous kisses, and his eyes grew even softer: “Shall we go on a date today?”
“Yes!” Yang Yuyang was very much looking forward to their first date.
You Wenchen had already planned a series of dates, ensuring that their dating locations wouldn’t repeat for the next year.
Today, they went to a private ice rink. Yang Yuyang didn’t know how to ice skate, so You Wenchen could teach him hand-in-hand.
In a cheesy twist of fate, they ran into Si Li and Mu Xun as soon as they arrived.
“Brother Wen… Wenchen.” Si Li greeted him awkwardly. Oh no.
You Wenchen didn’t seem surprised. He greeted Mu Xun warmly and politely: “Hello, Second Brother.”
Mu Xun nodded. He stretched out his long arm, catching Si Li, who was trying to escape: “They’ve seen us. Is running away now useful?”
Si Li shrank his neck, looking pitifully at You Wenchen: “Brother Wenchen, please don’t tell my brother. I beg you.”
“Alright, I won’t say anything.” He wasn’t particularly nosy. If Si Li didn’t want to say anything, he wouldn’t.
Mu Xun’s expression seemed a little unhappy. Si Li followed him, trying to coax him: “Didn’t we agree to announce it after three months of dating? You’re throwing a tantrum again. This time, you have to be the one to comfort me!”
Yang Yuyang shook his head, half-amused, half-bewildered. It was a miracle these two were dating.
“Did you know they were together?” You Wenchen crouched down to help Yang Yuyang put on his skates.
Yang Yuyang stopped him: “Your hand isn’t healed yet. I’ll do it myself. I found out by accident at home.”
“Then why aren’t they saying anything?” It’s not something shameful.
Yang Yuyang shrugged: “I don’t know. Both of their thought processes are a bit abnormal. Hopefully, two negatives make a positive.”
You Wenchen raised an eyebrow. Si Li’s thought process was indeed different from the average person. As for Mu Xun… If he’s dating Si Li, they’re probably cut from the same cloth.
“Forget about them. Let’s play!” Yang Yuyang didn’t want anyone disrupting their first date.
You Wenchen helped him stand up: “Get used to it first. It might be a little slippery on the ice, but I won’t let you fall.”
Yang Yuyang took two steps, felt mostly comfortable, and slowly entered the ice surface while holding the railing.
Just as he found his balance, a ghostly figure zipped past him. Si Li was skating around the entire rink in an unusual posture.
“…What are you doing? Where’s Second Brother?” Yang Yuyang couldn’t help but ask when he skated past again. It was clear Si Li was a good skater, but why was his posture so strange?
Si Li gave him an eccentric smile: “You’ve watched Empresses in the Palace, right? That An Xiaoniao won back the Emperor’s favor that way. I’m using the same method to win back your Second Brother’s heart.”
Yang Yuyang looked up with a complicated expression and saw Mu Xun watching Si Li with a smile: “…”
These two really are not normal.
To prevent him and You Wenchen from catching their weirdness, Yang Yuyang chose a distant spot to skate.
Even though You Wenchen was injured, one hand was enough to support Yang Yuyang, slowly guiding him across the ice.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
Yang Yuyang wasn’t afraid. Holding his hand and moving slowly on the ice, he quickly got the hang of it.
“Yangyang is so smart.” You Wenchen praised him.
Yang Yuyang took the opportunity to ask for a reward: “Then what’s my reward?”
“What do you want?”
“What do you think?” The words “kiss” were almost written on his face.
You Wenchen gently lowered his head. Yang Yuyang shyly closed his eyes.
Just as they were about to have a beautiful kiss on the ice, Si Li suddenly cut between them, pulling Yang Yuyang away.
“What are you doing!” Yang Yuyang was startled.
“My brother is here! Help!” Si Li was on the verge of tears. What terrible luck! His brother had to show up too.
“Then what should we do? Why don’t you just tell him? There’s no harm in it.”
“No way! It’s not time yet!”
“What do you mean?” Yang Yuyang was confused. Did they need to pick an auspicious date to announce it?
Si Li was serious: “They kept it secret from me for so long. Now it’s my turn!”
“…” So he’s holding a grudge from back then and insists on doing this now.
“Hey, Second Brother, you’re here too!” Mu Junyu skated over to Mu Xun to greet him.
“Mhm. Just looking for inspiration.”
Si Miu looked at Si Li nearby: “What are you doing here?”
“I’m also looking for inspiration! Ah, I love this feeling of freedom!” Si Li spun around on the ice.
Si Miu couldn’t bear to watch. Why did their family have such an attention seeker?
