- Episode 2.4 - The Town Where My First Love Lives
Clatter clatter clatter
I’m riding the train with Shiho.
And then Shiho-san seems to be a bit more energetic and is talking to herself.
Well, he’s technically talking to me, but…
However, this person really talks a lot about both the “real world” and the “current world”…
If she just stayed quiet, she’d look really elegant and beautiful…
――――――――――――――――――――――
The third station from the nearest station to my home is the destination station.
So, it was about fifteen minutes, but I felt like it was longer because I was a bit nervous. Of course, I wasn’t really paying attention to Shiho-san’s story either…
“Aoba Kita ~We have arrived at Aoba Kita~”
Finally, I arrived at the nearest station to the town where Tsune-chan lives.
“Aoba Kita Station”… Near this station, there is also a university called “Aoba University,” and many students get on and off here. However, since today is Sunday, families with children were more noticeable among the passengers.
“I attend this university.”
“Huh? Really!? Shiho-neechan, you’re really smart, huh?”
I was really surprised to find out that the university Shiho-san attended, Aoba University, is a prestigious one, something I didn’t even know in the “real world.”
“Ryo-kun, even though you’re in first grade, do you know the level of our university? That’s amazing…”
Damn it!!
I reflected on myself for reacting to unnecessary things.
And so, thinking that if I talk too much with Shiho-san, “the truth will come out,” I decided to avoid talking to her as much as possible.
It’s a story about the “real world,” but I used to frequent this town a lot when I was in high school.
Although my friend lived in this town, the area around the station was a student district, so there were many shops that students liked, such as karaoke boxes, fast food restaurants, video rental stores, coffee shops, game centers, billiard halls, and bowling alleys.
However, something feels off… The streets I know seem somehow different.
The town doesn’t have much flashiness.
Th-that’s right. This world is from an era even before the time when I was in high school.
Perhaps even “Space Invaders” will start becoming popular around next year?
“Sigh…”
I found myself in a complicated state of mind and couldn’t help but sigh…
“What’s wrong, Tak-kun? Sighing like that. Are you maybe feeling nervous?”
“Huh? Well, I guess that’s about right…”
――――――――――――――――――――――
About two weeks ago, I took out a piece of paper with my home address that Tsune-chan had written, from the drawer of the chest where my mom always keeps her important things, praying, “Please, let mom not find out.”
And now, while looking at the paper with the address written on it, Shiho-san and I are heading to Tsune-chan’s apartment.
“Ah!! Could this be the place!? Yes, it must be this apartment!!”
“Ah!?”
I was surprised to see the apartment where Tsune-chan is thought to live.
Surprisingly, that apartment was the one where my high school friend used to live…
Could it be that back then, without even realizing it, I kept going to the town where Tsune-chan lived, and even entered the apartment where Tsune-chan lived over and over again…?
Ugh, what is this pain in my chest…?
“Fuuuu…”
“Hehehe. Takashi-kun, are you at the peak of your nerves now? Taking deep breaths and all… Come on, stop dawdling and let’s go already!! Professor Tokoya’s room is on the third floor, Room 303!!”
Ding dong, ding dong
Shiho-san presses the intercom.
Thump… thump… thump…
I can feel my heart racing with tension. And…
“Yeees, who is it?”
You’re here!! You stayed home!!
And as always, what a gentle voice it is!!
It’s only been a few months since we were separated from Tsune-chan, but I find her gentle voice to be very nostalgic…
