Ruan Zhengzhong was a Beta, 33 years old this year. He was distantly related to Ruan Jing; though five degrees removed, he still had to call the 12-year-younger Ruan Jing “Little Aunt.”

Compared to Ruan Jing, whose family was dirt poor, Ruan Zhengzhong’s family was much better off. This wasn’t just because he had many brothers, but also because Ruan Zhigao was his paternal uncle.
