Stealing Moonlight (Lily ABO) - Chapter 20
“College student, what’s with that expression? What’s wrong? Are you really falling for me? If you insist on marrying me, it’s not impossible, but the bride price…”
Her eyes gleamed with mercenary greed. She pinched her fingers together, making a money gesture towards Ruan Jing. “It’ll have to go up a bit.”
A look of disgust immediately crossed Ruan Jing’s face. Li Ling’er saw it and couldn’t help but burst out laughing. She playfully nudged Ruan Jing with her shoulder. “Oh, don’t be scared, aunt won’t swindle you. My word is my bond.”
“I know.”
“Do you really know, or are you just pretending? Don’t try to fool me. I’m your aunt; I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve eaten white flour. I know exactly what’s going on with you, it’s as clear as day in my mind.” Li Ling’er said, barely concealing her smugness.
“You’re only three years older than me.”
“So what? Not convinced? Never mind three years, even if I was just three days or three hours older than you, I’d still be your aunt.”
When Li Ling’er smiled, her eyes curved downwards, like the moon hanging in the sky that night. Ruan Jing momentarily lost herself in the sight. When she smelled that familiar musky odor, the pretty floral handkerchief was already close to her face.
Ruan Jing quickly dodged backward. Her movement was so large that the back of her head hit the dirty window with a thud, which made Li Ling’er chuckle.
“Oh, you’re disgusted by your own stuff!” Li Ling’er taunted, hinting at something else. “This won’t do for you. When you mark an Omega later, you might even piss yourself!”
Ruan Jing’s expression remained unchanged, appearing as though she had weathered many storms. Li Ling’er thought she had matured, but less than two seconds later, a blush spread from her forehead all the way down to her neck, redder than the spring couplet paper at home during New Year’s.
“…This side is clean. Wipe your sweat; don’t catch a cold later.”
Li Ling’er didn’t mock her this time. She simply put the folded handkerchief into Ruan Jing’s hand. Ruan Jing cautiously sniffed it several times before daring to press it to her face.
“Tired, are you? Just sleep for a bit. I’ll wake you when we get there.”
Ruan Jing finished wiping her sweat and was about to return the handkerchief to Li Ling’er. Li Ling’er didn’t take it, just pointed to the luggage bag overhead. “Don’t worry, I’ll watch it for you, it won’t fall.”
As she spoke, she forcefully pressed Ruan Jing’s head onto her shoulder. Ruan Jing naturally didn’t dare to lean on her.
“Has the college student lost her nerve already? Oh, aunt will let you lean on me, and you can touch my br3asts too, okay? Touch them however you want, I absolutely won’t slap you this time, isn’t that enough?!”
“Don’t talk like that.”
Li Ling’er saw Ruan Jing’s expression and laughed again. “Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore, really. Just sleep for a bit.”
Ruan Jing hadn’t intended to sleep, but after the bus had swayed along for a short while, her eyelids grew heavy, and her mind felt hazy. Every time she blinked, her eyelids felt stuck together with glue, impossible to pull apart.
She vaguely remembered Li Ling’er asking her something again. Ruan Jing didn’t even recall if she had answered before falling into a deep, sweet sleep.
When Li Ling’er woke Ruan Jing, most of the people on the bus had already left. Ruan Jing drowsily rubbed her eyes, her mind still heavy with sleep. She sat there blankly, somewhat disoriented, unsure of the time or year.
“Still groggy?” Li Ling’er’s tone was unexpectedly gentle, and her eyes seemed different than before, though it was fleeting, and Ruan Jing didn’t notice.
Li Ling’er deftly took down Ruan Jing’s luggage bag, slung it over her shoulder, and then picked up her own bundle. She then extended her hand and waved it in front of Ruan Jing.
Just as Ruan Jing was about to dodge, Li Ling’er’s hand swiftly moved to Ruan Jing’s ear and snapped her fingers. The sound was sharp and clear, startling Ruan Jing and making her much more alert.
“I’ll carry my own.” Ruan Jing noticed Li Ling’er was almost buried under both their luggage, but Li Ling’er ignored her completely and quickly got off the bus.
Ruan Jing was surprised by her ease and paused for a moment before chasing after her.
