- Chapter 16 - Once I’m Cured, We’ll Divorce!
Wang Bupo didn’t know what Fu Jing intended to do, but since his body was craving the comfort of pheromones, he obediently turned around, his back to him.
The pale skin of his neck, covered with a suppressant patch, was now fully exposed. Fu Jing leaned closer, tore the patch off, and said curtly,
“Endure it.”
The familiar grapefruit scent washed over him like a wave. Wang Bupo shivered, biting back a groan.
He could only half curse before the rest of his voice trailed off into an incoherent sound.
Fu Jing’s hand tightened slightly around the back of his neck, his tone low and rough as he muttered.
“Quiet.”
Later, standing in front of the bathroom mirror, Wang Bupo touched the faint bite mark on his neck.
So this was what a temporary mark looked like?
He tried to recall the educational videos he’d once watched about ABO biology, but most of the information was gone from memory. He only remembered the way Fu Jing had calmly explained the aftereffects just now, as if giving him a quick lesson in physiology.
The Omega body really was a strange thing… just a bite on the neck could make someone feel that good?
The memory made his face heat up. He couldn’t help thinking.
If this is what treatment feels like, my condition doesn’t seem that bad after all. A bite or two and I’m cured, no need to lose my virtue, and I even enjoyed it.
Would it be too much to let Fu Jing bite him five or six times a day?
The more he thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. No need for kissing or hugging, just a simple bite. Why hadn’t that doctor said so earlier? What a useless quack!
“Wang Bupo! Wake up!” Fu Jing’s voice broke through his thoughts.
“What? I’m exhausted today, I just want to sleep early…”
“This is my bed!”
“What do you mean your—wait, what?!”
Wang Bupo’s eyes flew open. Fu Jing was standing by the bed, glaring at him. He looked around the room and froze.
He could’ve sworn he’d gone to sleep in his own bed after showering. How on earth had he ended up in Fu Jing’s room? Did someone teleport him here in his sleep?
Fu Jing’s face was dark. He didn’t understand it either. They’d already done the temporary mark so why had he come crawling into his bed again?
“The kind of dependency your partner is showing,” the doctor explained patiently, “is due to stress-induced pheromone imbalance. Temporary marks help, but he also needs consistent emotional reassurance and physical intimacy handholding, hugging, gentle contact to stabilize the body’s pheromone regulation.”
It was nearly midnight when Fu Jing and Wang Bupo left the hospital, still holding hands.
They both looked uncomfortable faces turned to opposite sides, refusing to make eye contact yet neither let go.
“You can relax,” Wang Bupo muttered. “I don’t have that kind of interest in you. Just help me finish this treatment, and once I’m cured, I swear I’ll divorce you and won’t make you pay back a single cent of my debt.”
Fu Jing shot him a sideways glance, expression cold.
“Good. Let’s keep it that way.”
And so, the two of them reached an unspoken agreement this was a partnership, nothing more.
“Fu Jing, there’s one more thing…”
“Hm?”
“Can you come with me to the internet caféfor these next few days? I can’t skip my training for the national gaming competition.”
Because of his dependency, Wang Bupo couldn’t be away from Fu Jing for more than two hours but he also couldn’t abandon his tournament. After thinking it through, bringing Fu Jing along was the only option.
Fu Jing was silent for a moment.
“What, don’t give me that look,” Wang Bupo grumbled. “Even if you don’t want to, you have to. This means a lot to me.”
Before he could finish, Fu Jing suddenly asked,
“How much does a full gaming setup cost?”
The next afternoon, a courier from SwiftWind Express delivered a high-end gaming computer worth thirty thousand yuan.
“Holy crap! Where did you get the money?” Wang Bupo gawked. Just a few days ago, they were surviving on cheap takeout and discount groceries. Now Fu Jing had dropped thirty grand like it was nothing.
“A competition prize,” Fu Jing said calmly. “I was going to invest it, but I’ll lend it to you first.”
He didn’t realize that in that instant, his image in Wang Bupo’s mind completely changed. That cold, proud face suddenly seemed… radiant.
Wang Bupo felt a surge of emotion. He nearly cried.
“Brother,” he declared dramatically, “if you ever need my help for anything, just call my name your big brother will come running, no questions asked!”
Then, with a sly grin, his puppy-like eyes darted toward Fu Jing. “But really, how should I thank you, hmm?”
“There’s no ne”
Before Fu Jing could finish, Wang Bupo leaned forward and planted a loud kiss on his cheek.
Then, without another word, he dashed to his new computer, leaving Fu Jing frozen in place, face slightly flushed.
In the blink of an eye, the seven-day break was over.
Ever since Fu Jing had bought the computer, Wang Bupo had been smiling in his sleep. He even started finding Fu Jing… adorable. Like a big, aloof cat easily irritated, but soft at heart.
Hand-holding, cheek kisses, quick hugs these little gestures had all become part of their daily routine.
If he had to describe their relationship now, he’d say it was like family as if he were the older brother doting on a moody younger sibling.
Every night, they fell asleep holding hands, with a temporary mark every few days. At first, Wang Bupo couldn’t go two hours without Fu Jing; now, he could last ten whole hours on his own.
That meant during the day, Fu Jing could attend his classes, while Wang Bupo stayed home to train for his games.
The final round of the national competition was scheduled for the day after the break ended.
This time, it was an offline event contestants had to arrive at Starlight Tower by seven in the evening for the live finals.
Which meant as soon as Fu Jing got out of class, they’d have to rush straight there.
“The third annual Gun God National Tournament Finals will be broadcast live tonight at 8 PM! A hundred top marksmen will battle it out for the championship let’s see what kind of spectacular show they bring us!” The host’s excited voice echoed across major streaming platforms.
The comment section exploded immediately:

Outside Starlight Tower, crowds of fans and reporters packed the entrance so tightly it was impossible to move.
Wang Bupo entered through the secured passage reserved for finalists, with Fu Jing at his side.
Tall, long-legged, and good-looking, the two of them immediately drew every camera’s attention. Screams and flashes filled the air as if a pair of celebrities had arrived.
Wang Bupo hadn’t expected such chaos. The blinding camera flashes made him squint, raising a hand to shield his eyes.
Fu Jing quietly grabbed his wrist and guided him quickly into the venue.
Inside, the arena was divided into sections competition zones filled with rows of computers, live monitors, and a spectator area for family members. Reporters and media personnel were restricted to the outer hall, watching the match on a giant screen.
After the competition ended, players would step out to give interviews and receive their awards onstage.
