What should a man do for his boyfriend?
Feeling he had made a remarkable decision, Shu Yang lay awake that night, contemplating his future life.
Thinking of this, he pulled out his phone and typed in these words, but couldn’t find a reliable answer.
He thought for a moment and tried another approach.
How do you pursue the man you like?
There were many search results, and the one pinned to the top, meaning the one with the most likes, drew Shu Yang’s brows as he read them.
A man isn’t impressed by persistence? Rather, he needs to let him notice something about you that appeals to him.
Why is this so difficult? What kind of person does Francis like? Who knows?
As the night deepened, the faint glow of Shu Yang’s phone still shone, blending with the moonlight outside the window.
The living room wasn’t too dark; at least the furniture could be discerned. Moreover, the brightness was as bright as daylight for the 3S soldiers, and their movements were unaffected.
A white figure slid down from the upper railing, moving swiftly and silently. He quickly approached the beanbag by the window and stood beside the sleeping Shu Yang.
The bright moonlight shone through the polished glass onto the young man’s face, casting a faint halo. The sleeper unconsciously smacked his lips and unguardedly tilted his head to the side, where the light was blocked and dimmed.
Thus, his entire sleeping face was exposed to the man.
Francis leaned in closer, gently brushing back a few strands of hair from Shu Yang’s forehead and observing him for a moment.
He passed his arm between the boy’s hunched legs, and with his other hand, he gathered his head, then reached under him, securing his back. With a slight push, he gently lifted the boy up.
Francis’ steps were steady, and Shu Yang showed no sign of waking.
Only after Shu Yang was placed on the bed did he mutter a word, without even opening his eyes, and grasped the man’s hand as he was about to leave. “Dad? Are you back?”
…
Shu Yang knew he slept soundly, despite having a rather unpleasant dream. In it, he had actually spent the entire night with Shu Zhiyi, exchanging many intimate conversations. The mere thought of it was terrifying, giving him goosebumps.
Shu Yang rubbed his eyes. The curtains had been drawn, and bright sunlight streamed in through the window, illuminating the entire bedroom.
Although it was early July, the heat was still high, the air conditioner was set to a comfortable 21 degrees Celsius.
What is the happiest thing in life? Isn’t it to enjoy the heat of summer while others scramble to work while you sit back, enjoying the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a great watermelon?
Shu Yang sat up, quite content with his current life. However, early in the morning, he felt something was amiss.
Only when he saw himself in the mirror, still wearing the same clothes he’d worn the day before, did he realize what was wrong.
He hadn’t gone to bed last night, so how had he managed to get across one flight to his bedroom?
“Big Pigeon! Ah!” Shu Yang shouted, unconcerned with the foam still in his mouth.
“What’s up?” Francis appeared at his bedroom door, already washed and ready to go.
Shu Yang instantly forgot his question. “Where are you going?”
Francis had only been here a day and didn’t even have an ID, effectively an illegal immigrant. Where was he going? Without documents, it was easy; he wouldn’t get caught if he didn’t cause any trouble. But the problem was, he had no money…
“Let’s go out for a walk, stretch our legs.” Francis adjusted his cuffs, his gaze finally landing on Shu Yang’s bare feet. After being pulled over last night, he’d listened to this person for a long time. Some of what he said was unclear, but some he could hear clearly.
“You, do you know the way?” Shu Yang, with his white beard, quickly rinsed his mouth. “Wait five minutes, I’ll go out with you!”
But he was rejected. Francis walked into the bedroom, picked up a pair of slippers from the bedside, and placed them by the bathroom door. Then he turned and left. “No thanks, I’ll be back soon. Message me if you need me.”
“…Okay.” Shu Yang listened for the door to close. When he heard it close, he quickly wiped his face, found his phone, and called Chen Yi for help.
[Da Ge just left and wouldn’t let me follow. I’m worried…]
Chen Yi: [Young man, you already have the answer. Why bother sending me a message? I’m not even up yet.]
[I don’t have the answer. Tell me what to do!] Shu Yang automatically ignored the fact that his friend was a lazy pig, even though he had just gotten up.
Chen Yi: [Your phone has location tracking.] “Alright? Do you know what to do? Isn’t that what you wanted to hear? Are you satisfied with what you saw? Ha, so pretentious.”
Shu Yang happily tossed his phone aside and opened his tablet. This was what Fatty Shen said, none of his business.
There was a small icon on the map, and Shu Yang stared at it as he quickly left the neighborhood. After crossing three intersections, his speed increased rapidly, and in just three or four minutes, he was in the downtown area.
What was going on? Shu Yang had originally hoped to have a chance encounter with Da Ge. How could he have a chance encounter now?
His house was in a relatively remote suburb, quiet and, most importantly, peaceful, perfect for a good night’s sleep. Therefore, it was a bit far from the bustling area.
Even if there wasn’t any traffic, it would take twenty to thirty minutes to get there without speeding. Now… three or four minutes?
Shu Yang’s face was filled with question marks.
Aliens are truly amazing.
However, because of this, Shu Yang abandoned his plan to have breakfast before leaving. He simply put on his hat and hailed a taxi, heading towards Francis.
Originally, he’d thought Francis was just strolling around nearby, and nothing would happen. Downtown, with its crowded crowds and numerous events, he worried about causing trouble.
He wasn’t worried about Francis himself; after all, the Big Pigeon’s destructive power was already evident. He was worried about offending Francis’s people.
Shu Yang sighed. He didn’t know if rushing there like this would upset the Big Pigeon.
But… before Shu Yang reached his destination, he received a call.
“Hello? Hello? Yes, it’s Shu Yang. What?! I’ll be right there.” Shu Yang hung up and quickly located the small icon. Then, zooming in on the map, he saw it overlapped with a location called the XX District Police Station.
Shu Yang slapped his forehead. How foolish he was! Really, how could Francis go out alone? No matter how well he’d performed yesterday, he was still an ET who’d only been on Earth for a day!
Unsure of the severity of the situation, Shu Yang could only rush over to see what was going on. However, this moment instantly made him realize the need to get Francis some identification.
This matter was quite difficult for him, and he needed Shu Zhiyi’s help. But how could he explain Francis’s background to Shu Zhiyi?
Shu Yang was overwhelmed, and before he could come up with a plan, the police station arrived.
He hurried inside and found Francis, who was standing in the room, looking around. He looked relaxed, not like someone entering the police station, but more like a leader conducting an inspection.
Perhaps his imposing aura had intimidated the others, so no one came too close, and they automatically left him alone.
“Comrade Police Officer, I don’t know if my friend…” Shu Yang smiled, but his face was too young. Even if he tried to act mature and sophisticated, it still wasn’t convincing.
“Who are you to him?”
Shu Yang was stunned for a moment, then blurted out, “He’s my older brother.”
“You two don’t look alike.” The officer seemed kind and didn’t try to scare the young man. “It’s nothing serious. Just take a statement and leave. While you were here, the other party agreed to a private settlement.”
Shu Yang thanked him quickly, then pulled Francis over and whispered, “What happened? Do you need your ID?”
Francis shook his head and hurried into the interview room. He emerged within five minutes and dragged Shu Yang out.
After they left the room, Francis spoke. “Is this your Citizens’ Inspection Office?”
Shu Yang pondered his meaning, then nodded. “Is that so?”
Francis began to speak. “There’s not a single S-rank expert. The highest-ranked one is only B-rank.”
Shu Yang opened his mouth, picking up on Francis’s unspoken meaning. “This is peacetime, and our armed police are incredibly powerful, okay?”
“Yeah.”
“What happened?” Shu Yang held onto Francis’s hand, their overly close gestures drawing the attention of many passersby.
Francis was clearly aware of the glances, but he didn’t react.
“I was chasing a thief, and he was trying to run. I wasn’t paying attention, and I accidentally broke his leg.”
Shu Yang immediately let go of Francis’ arm. The entire situation quickly ran through his mind, and he had a general understanding of the situation.
“I put it back on him.” Francis discreetly adjusted his stance, bringing them closer.
Shu Yang: Okay, even scarier.
“Going home?” Shu Yang smiled flatteringly. “I’ll have someone get you a temporary ID. At least you won’t have to worry about getting caught.”
“Okay.”
The two crossed several intersections and arrived at a less crowded park. Francis put his arm around Shu Yang’s waist.
“So sudden?” Shu Yang hugged Francis back. “I haven’t… ah!”
The immense force of the impact made Shu Yang swallow the rest of his words. The strong wind lashed his face, scratching it painfully.
The man, realizing this, considerately helped Shu Yang turn around so he was facing him. “This way, go faster.”
Shu Yang finally opened his eyes and realized that Francis was practically carrying him as he raced down the Outer Ring Road. Occasionally, one or two cars would pass by, but only their shadows would be visible for a moment before disappearing.
Shu Yang, a little worried, buried his face in the man’s chest. He opened his mouth to speak, but fearing he wouldn’t hear, he strained his lungs, “Big! Big pigeon! The dashcam’s recording us!”
“Blocked.” The man’s faint voice reached Shu Yang’s ears through the slight trembling of his chest.
No one could see that Shu Yang’s face had already turned a faint red. No one would notice that the tips of Francis’s ears, which had been normal, had also quietly taken on a faint crimson hue.
