Sweet Kiss - Chapter 15.2
Earlier, Bai Tingzhou had told Qi Jinyang to ask for a leave for both of them. He replied right away with a mocking emoji.
The sunset turned the whole sky red. The light fell on them, making everything look beautiful.
Bai Tingzhou felt the warmth in his hand and realized that this time, Li Yansui didn’t let go.
Her hand was thin, with clear joints. She had lost weight again, he thought.
They planned to go home for dinner. But halfway there, Bai Tingzhou felt his phone vibrating.
It was a message from Qi Jinyang:
[Bro, get ready. Go to the Dean’s office.]
There was also a “good luck” emoji.
Sure enough, the next second, his phone rang—it was the office landline.
When the dean’s door opened, he was no longer angry like in the morning.
He smiled and welcomed Bai Tingzhou to sit, even handing him a cup of water.
The Dean, Mr. Wang, was in his forties. People called him “Iron Head Wang.”
The nickname came from two things: one, he once hit his head three times in a day on a super clean glass door. Two, someone said he once got yelled at by a school leader from top to bottom, but he still served tea with a smile.
So, students joked—this guy’s head must be made of iron.
So, everyone secretly gave Director Wang that nickname.
When Director Wang saw him come in, he didn’t forget to show concern: “How are you? Are you okay? Those two didn’t come looking for trouble, did they?”
Right after the entrance ceremony ended, the parents of Qiao Chen and Zhang Xi were called in.
It was said that the scene in the office back then was lively, to say the least. Screams mixed with the sound of things being smashed, and even the school leaders couldn’t separate the parents who were brawling with each other. That alone was enough to imagine how intense things were.
As for the outcome, no one knew yet.
However, everyone was guessing whether both students had been expelled. After all, the impact had been huge.
Even now, the number one trending search topic was still Saint Zhe Academy. No matter what they did, they couldn’t push it down.
“I’m fine. Thank you for your concern, Director Wang,” Bai Tingzhou replied politely.
Director Wang took a sip of the now-cold tea on his desk and said, “Regarding this incident, the school leaders have decided to commend you!”
As he spoke, he took a sheet of paper out from the drawer of his desk. Bold characters at the top read: Reward Amount. The reason for the commendation was roughly what Bai Tingzhou had guessed — it was for bravery and seeking the truth, that sort of thing.
Shengzhe School liked to handle these small commendations directly with cash — quick and convenient.
He placed the sheet in front of Bai Tingzhou and said, “You did a great job this time. You know, online…”
Director Wang’s face was all smiles and enthusiasm, but the way he rubbed his hands gave away what he was going to say next.
Bai Tingzhou noticed Director Wang’s every move. He had seen this trick too many times — sweeten you up first, then smack you down.
Although he had helped these old foxes solve a problem at the entrance ceremony today, this kind of overstepping behavior was bound to be punished to some extent.
After all, he had bypassed proper channels.
Bai Tingzhou had already come to terms with it, but Director Wang wasn’t letting it go so easily.
Watching Director Wang ramble on, Bai Tingzhou suddenly felt a wave of irritation.
Sure enough, after the flattery, Director Wang’s tone shifted and his face turned stern. “However, because you acted without the school’s permission and disrupted the order of the entrance ceremony, the school still has to issue an appropriate punishment.”
He was just giving Bai Tingzhou a heads-up.
Bai Tingzhou kept his polite smile but felt no emotion inside. He simply replied with a smile, “Director Wang, I have no objections. I’ll accept whatever the school decides.”
Seeing him so cooperative, Director Wang felt pleased.
He came over and patted Bai Tingzhou on the shoulder, saying, “It’s good that you’re willing to work with the school. Don’t worry, the punishment won’t be too serious.”
Bai Tingzhou lowered his head slightly, and a faint sneer flickered in his eyes.
The final punishment? Just two days of suspension.
A painless slap on the wrist.
Outside the Academic Affairs Office, Li Yansui stood by the wall in silence.
When Bai Tingzhou came out, he reached out a hand to her.
He lowered his head slightly, looked at her, and said, “I’m hungry. Let’s go eat.”
“Mm.” Li Yansui held his hand, and the two walked out of the school together.
Bai Tingzhou originally planned to take her to a nearby restaurant.
But halfway there, Li Yansui was drawn to a dessert shop.
So, they had no choice but to stop in and buy a matcha ice cream.
The night wind brushed against them, but Li Yansui didn’t feel cold.
She lowered her head, eating ice cream, and casually asked, “What did Mr. Wang say to you?”
Bai Tingzhou used a napkin to gently wipe her mouth from time to time. “Nothing much.”
His indifferent tone made Li Yansui wonder if she had overthought it.
“Did he suspend you for a few days?” she suddenly asked.
Bai Tingzhou hadn’t expected her to guess it, even though he’d deliberately kept it from her. So, he could only nod honestly. “Don’t worry. It’s just two days.” As he spoke, he even made a peace sign, acting like it was nothing.
But Li Yansui, who should’ve been fine, suddenly started crying while eating her ice cream.
Her tears slid down her cheeks without warning, startling Bai Tingzhou.
“Why are you crying?” he asked in a panic, hurriedly wiping her tears away. His usually graceful hands fumbled with clumsy urgency.
His touch was incredibly gentle.
When his fingertips brushed her cheeks, Li Yansui froze like she had been electrocuted.
He softly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and said gently, “Don’t cry. I’m really okay.”
His voice was like a feather, teasing her heartstrings and making her feel weak.
His fingers slowly slid up from her cheek.
He touched the edge of her ear, then slowly traced down to her neck.
Li Yansui felt like she had melted entirely.
She closed her eyes, savoring his tenderness.
After a while—
His fingertips brushed over her lips.
Without realizing it, the two had ended up in a dark alley, where only the sound of their shallow breaths filled the silence.
Bai Tingzhou kissed her.
Li Yansui kept her eyes tightly shut, too nervous to look.
His lips were soft, like cotton candy.
When Bai Tingzhou’s tongue curled around hers, a tingling sensation spread through her. Her heartbeat quickened, and her breathing grew rapid.
She didn’t know how long it lasted — long enough for her to feel like she might suffocate — before he finally let her go.
Their foreheads rested together as he exhaled gently on her face and said, “Sui Sui, don’t cry anymore.”
Li Yansui’s eyelashes trembled slightly.
