Sweet Kiss - Chapter 9.1
After hearing Bai Tingzhou’s words, Qi Jinyang leaned closer to listen, stopped joking, and asked seriously, “What’s wrong?”
Bai Tingzhou told Qi Jinyang what he wanted to do. The more Qi Jinyang listened, the tighter his brows frowned. After hearing the reason for the incident, he couldn’t help but burst out with a swear word, “Damn, are they still humans?” This instantly attracted the attention of his classmates.
Today was the placement test, and no one in Class 1 cared about gossip. Even Xu Mu covered his ears and recited seriously. They all hoped to stay in Class 1. After all, leaving this class seemed to tell others that they had become worse. No one dared to take the placement test lightly.
Upon seeing this, Qi Jinyang immediately clasped his hands together and apologized to all the students, “I’m sorry, everyone. Please continue to recite, just continue to recite.”
In fact, the students just subconsciously looked towards the source of the sound, and turned back when they found that it was nothing serious.
Bai Tingzhou’s state today was different from usual. Usually, he was calm and indifferent no matter what happened, and even seemed to not care about anything in the world. But today, his eyes were full of threat, even revealing a sense of cruelty, like the eve of a storm. This was the first time Qi Jinyang saw such emotion in Bai Tingzhou’s eyes after he met him.
Qi Jinyang patted Bai Tingzhou and said, “Good brother, I will definitely help you.”
Bai Tingzhou spoke calmly in his ear.
After hearing this, Qi Jinyang opened his eyes wide in disbelief. “How can that be? How can I let you go alone? I can’t do such a thing.” He gestured as he spoke.
“You don’t have to worry about what happens next. I will handle it. You just need to do as I say,” Bai Tingzhou said firmly, his eyes full of coldness.
Qi Jinyang had an ominous prediction in his heart, but he was unable to stop Bai Tingzhou.
“Okay then.” Qi Jinyang had no choice but to agree.
The bell rang, and morning self-study began.
The students only have the last forty-five minutes to review, or fifteen minutes to be exact, because students from other classes will have to start heading to the examination room in the remaining thirty minutes.
Qi Jinyang looked at Bai Tingzhou beside him and saw that he had no intention of reviewing and was even a little excited. What was going on?
He hadn’t done anything this wild in a long time.
However, the protagonist of this incident, Bai Tingzhou, was still sitting in his seat calmly reviewing, and you couldn’t tell at all how crazy what he was going to do that night was.
While drinking water, Bai Tingzhou glanced at Qi Jinyang beside him and felt that he was a little too excited.
Suddenly I felt that calling Qi Jinyang might be a wrong decision…
As Director Wang shouted “Get ready!” students from all classes instantly jumped up from their chairs, looking nervous. They complained to their friends from time to time, “Damn, I haven’t finished reading it yet.” They couldn’t even put down their notebooks.
Lin Ai stood on the podium of Class 5 and thought the students looked cute. While the students were organizing their pencil cases, she couldn’t help but remind them, “Remember to read the test questions carefully. Don’t be careless. If you can’t do it, move on to the next one. Don’t get stuck on one question. Do you hear me?”
Only a few voices responded to her from the audience, and most people’s eyes were fixed on their notebooks, unwilling to leave.
Lin Ai shook her head helplessly. They were all great minds who were cramming for the exam at the last minute.
She packed her things and went out, preparing to go back to the office to pack for her second year of high school classes.
The students found their own examination rooms and sat down in their seats one after another. Most of them were whispering to each other, with “Do you know how to do it?” mixed in with various recitations.
Things didn’t get better until the invigilators arrived.
The teachers followed the procedure and asked the students to hand in their notebooks and mobile phones. The first subject was Chinese. Students in every examination room were writing furiously, and the classroom was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Bai Tingzhou wrote the Chinese test paper much slower than the math test paper. He read it very carefully. He didn’t stop writing until the teacher said there were 20 minutes left.
For the remaining twenty minutes, he kept his head down and twirled the pen, not knowing what he was thinking about.
After finishing the Chinese test, he would only check for typos and ancient poems, and would not look at any other multiple-choice questions.
This is a common point among most students. After reading, they will question it, and after questioning it, they will revise it, and most of the revisions will be wrong.
The tense atmosphere did not ease until the bell rang.
Some students have just finished it, and most of them are relieved; after all, they fail every subject they take.
But there were still many voices of answers lingering in Bai Tingzhou’s ears.
However, he and Qi Jinyang never cared about things like test answers. After all, they had already written them, so how could they change them?
Qi Jinyang carefully walked around the students, reminding them from time to time, “Please make way for me. Thank you, thank you.”
He returned to Bai Tingzhou, and they went straight to the cafeteria.
While waiting in line, he took out his cell phone from his pocket and replied to the message Li Yansui sent him.
Little pear: picture.jpg
Little Pear: [Mother Bai brought me lunch.] Jealous? ]
Li Yansui also added a show-off emoticon.
After his mother saw the circle of friends he posted last night, this morning, Ms. Yu immediately called him to ask about Li Yansui’s situation.
After hearing good news about Li Yansui’s, she gradually felt relieved. However, Ms. Yu, who loved her dearly, even cooked and sent her a meal over at noon.
Xiaochuan: [Envy.]
Xiaochuan: [There are too many people here, and we haven’t had our meal yet.]
This is true. Qi Jinyang decided to have a good lunch for the battle in the evening, so he dragged Bai Tingzhou to the window of the braised chicken. The braised chicken can be said to be one of the most delicious dishes on the first floor of their school cafeteria.
Their cafeteria is very big and is even divided into three floors, but the best home-cooked dish on the first floor is the braised chicken.
Normally, getting a plate of it required fighting for it.
But since they had finished their exam earlier than the first and second-year students, they were guaranteed to get some today—though the wait was still long.
Lizi: [Xiaochuan, I suggest you come home to eat instead.]
Bai Tingzhou chuckled at his phone and replied with a “lying down and sleeping” sticker.
Qi Jinyang, who had been playing a mobile game beside him, suddenly glanced at something—or rather, someone—and immediately shoved his phone into his pocket, frantically poking Bai Tingzhou’s arm.
Bai Tingzhou instantly understood and swiftly slipped his phone into his pocket as well.
Their school wasn’t too strict about phones—they were allowed to bring them. But playing on your phone in front of a teacher was considered disrespectful. If caught, it would be confiscated until the evening.
The next second, a teacher doing cafeteria rounds appeared at the entrance. He scanned the crowd, smiling in satisfaction, occasionally stopping to ask students how their exams went.
Qi Jinyang muttered under his breath, “Ugh, even in the cafeteria, a mood killer has to show up.”
Not that it made any difference.
Bai Tingzhou silently rolled his eyes.
After finishing their meal, they returned to class. Along the way, Qi Jinyang kept raving about how amazing the Huangmen Chicken was. He went on and on until Bai Tingzhou’s ears nearly grew calluses from listening.
After the midday break, he turned on his phone again.
This time, though, he felt a hint of anticipation.
Just as he had hoped, Li Yansui had sent a message.
Lizi: [Reporting to Xiaochuan!]! Lizi has taken her medicine! ]
Afraid he wouldn’t believe her, she even attached a photo of the medicine in her palm.
Bai Tingzhou quietly sent her a “praise” sticker in response.
Then he sent a reply.
Xiaochuan: [I have something to do tonight, so I will be late.]
The message came quickly, and the person on the other end seemed to have been staring at the screen the entire time.
Lizi: [Huh? What happened? ]
Xiaochuan: [Qi Jinyang wants to play in the secret room; I will accompany him.]
After a while, Li Yansui sent an “OK” emoticon.
Bai Tingzhou patiently asked her what she wanted to eat tomorrow morning.
Pear: [Noodle soup]
Pear: [Add eggs! ]
Bai Tingzhou smiled and replied with an “OK.”
The lunch break passed quickly, and the afternoon exam came without a break.
Director Wang cruelly put all the exams on just one day, under the pretext that tomorrow was Saturday and the students could have a good rest.
