Sweet Kiss - Chapter 9.2
After a whole day of exams, the students collapsed on their desks like corpses.
However, the good news is that they definitely don’t have to study at night today. What’s even better is that tomorrow is Saturday.
Everyone started packing their bags and preparing to go home.
After Qi Jinyang finished his last subject, he fell asleep on the table. He felt a pair of feet kicking his legs in a daze, “Wake up.”
Qi Jinyang rubbed his sleepy eyes, yawned, and sat up.
He looked up and saw Bai Tingzhou. He stretched his body, and his bones crackled. “Great!”
Qi Jinyang packed up the things on the table and looked at Bai Tingzhou, who looked like he had just returned from outside. He said in disbelief, “You didn’t sneak in without telling me, did you?”
Bai Tingzhou ignored him, packed his schoolbag, and threw a rice ball on him, which was still hot. “Let’s go.” This one word was concise and to the point, and it seemed that he didn’t want to say more.
Qi Jinyang looked at the hot rice ball in his hand, feeling touched. “I knew you were the best for me.” As he said that, he made a heart shape to Bai Tingzhou.
The latter said he was too embarrassed to watch it.
The last physics exam was Qi Jinyang’s best subject, so he was ready to take a nap when he had only 30 minutes left. Unexpectedly, he accidentally slept until now.
Qi Jinyang put on his schoolbag, took a bite of the rice ball, and said incoherently, “Those bastards should be waiting for us in the back street.”
Bai Tingzhou glanced at Qi Jinyang calmly. “You’re not going home?”
Qi Jinyang chuckled, “I’m too lazy to go back. I’ll go with you.”
It’s better not to stay at that so-called “home.”
Bai Tingzhou and Qi Jinyang strolled all the way to the back street.
This morning, Bai Tingzhou went to Class 5, where Li Yansui was.
Because he went there early, there were only a few girls in the class doing the test papers. When they saw Bai Tingzhou, they almost all got his attention. However, they only dared to glance at him, then took out their phones and typed something on them.
Coincidentally, Li Yan’s deskmate Xiao Xi was also there.
Bai Tingzhou wanted to put a coat on Li Yansui’s stool, but unexpectedly, Xiaoxi suddenly asked, “Hello, I want to ask, is she not coming today?”
Bai Tingzhou looked at the girl in front of him and nodded, then answered patiently, “Li Yansui is sick and will not come today.” Because Li Yansui told him that Xiaoxi was her only good friend in Class 5, Bai Tingzhou was naturally much more patient.
Xiao Xi nodded, clenched her fists, and finally, when Bai Tingzhou just walked out of the classroom door, she mustered up the courage to run over and pat him on the shoulder.
Bai Tingzhou asked in confusion, “What’s the matter?”
Xiao Xi is an introvert by nature, and when she meets a boy she isn’t familiar with, her voice becomes even lower.
However, there were not many people around early in the morning, so Bai Tingzhou naturally heard it clearly.
Bai Tingzhou’s face was originally able to maintain a polite expression, but after hearing what Xiaoxi said, he instantly turned cold. He frowned, feeling a little irritated.
After Xiao Xi finished speaking, she didn’t even look at Bai Tingzhou. She said, “I’m done. You, please say sorry to Li Yansui for me.” and ran back to the classroom.
Bai Tingzhou’s head was still replaying what Xiao Xi had just said, “Well, what I wanted to tell you is that Li Yansui’s fever might be due to Liu Ping’s group of boys, because the last time I saw them deliberately use the air-conditioning remote control to freeze the air-condition and lower the temperature, so that it will blow towards Li Yansui, and they also intentionally asked someone to take the hot water in her cup, and said that they would find some girls in the to beat her up next time. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, they threatened me not to tell anyone. I’m really sorry!” Her tone became faster and faster as she spoke.
Bai Tingzhou didn’t mean to blame her, but that group of people did get in her way.
Liu Ping, is that so?
Bai Tingzhou stayed there for a while before leaving.
Hengshan First High School is actually an international private high school in Qinghui City. It has both a general high school department and an international department. Because of its strict education, good teachers, and complete facilities, parents in Qinghui City think that if their children go to Hengshan, they will be able to go to a good university.
The principal later promised that students who had been admitted to a good university based on their academic performance could come to Hengshan First High School to receive their bonus, and only the students themselves could receive it.
As a result, with the strong support of parents, Hengshan First High School has developed. Liu Ping and his group got in by taking advantage of the last “bonus.” They bought up the scores they didn’t have by spending their money.
After that group of people arrived, they didn’t bother studying at all. All they cared about was dating, fantasizing that some rich girl from the international department would fall for them. Of course, that was nothing but wishful thinking.
They had only managed to get into Class Five at the start of their senior year by cheating. Now, those pests who didn’t belong there were finally getting kicked back to where they came from.
Bai Tingzhou had only asked Qi Jinyang to do two things for him: get the security footage to find evidence of Liu Ping and his group bullying Li Yansui and to set up a meeting with them in the alley behind the street.
Bai Tingzhou had originally planned to go alone, but to his surprise, Qi Jinyang was more than eager to join. So, he let him tag along.
The alley behind the street was a dead zone—whatever happened there, no one would know.
By the time they arrived, the small vendors were doing booming business. Many young adults and middle-aged workers who had just gotten off their night shifts were there for a meal.
The ground was covered in dirt mixed with fallen food scraps and other unidentifiable grime. Greasy tables and broken-legged stools made it clear just how filthy and poorly maintained the place was.
Bai Tingzhou and Qi Jinyang navigated through the winding paths until they reached the entrance of the alley.
Liu Ping and his group were already waiting.
Seeing them, Liu Ping flicked his cigarette to the ground. “What, you called us out here for something? ”
Qi Jinyang, hands in his pockets and backpack slung over one shoulder, smirked like he owned the place. “Of course, we’re here to teach you bastards a lesson.” His voice dripped with open mockery.
Liu Ping sneered. “Oh? You two little pretty boys sure talk big.”
The gang of thugs behind him burst into laughter, pointing at them.
“You think you two can take us on? Don’t make me laugh! Do you even know who we are? I could crush you with my pinky. You better surrender while you still can.”
Bai Tingzhou and Qi Jinyang exchanged glances before chuckling.
Qi Jinyang was the first to speak. “Zhou-ge, look at him. He’s built like a damn cucumber, yet he thinks he can crush us? “He shot a disdainful glance up and down at the guy in question.
Liu Ping’s face darkened. “Motherf—Why the hell did you even call me out here? ”
Despite his anger, he still had some sense. Bai Tingzhou wasn’t someone he could afford to mess with so easily. Whether it was grades, looks, or family background, Bai Tingzhou outclassed him in every way.
If Bai Tingzhou hadn’t called him out here, Liu Ping might’ve tried to corner him at school. But if he acted recklessly now and injured him, his father would definitely beat him half to death when he got home.
As long as Bai Tingzhou was willing to beg…
Before Liu Ping could even finish his train of thought, Bai Tingzhou’s voice cut through.
“Of course, we called you out here to—”
Liu Ping and his gang all turned to look at him, waiting for the rest of his sentence.
Bai Tingzhou casually rolled up his uniform sleeves, took his time fixing them, then finally looked up.
“To beat the crap out of you.”
He was smiling, but there was an unmistakable chill in his eyes.
