- Chapter 29 (pt. 1) - Master, I’m a Little Scared (Some Memories From the Past)
The summer sky darkened late, and it was still bright at that moment.
Wei Qing and Sylvie strolled together, eventually arriving at a familiar shop.
The curtains on the glass windows were drawn down, leaving only the glowing sensor door visible.
“…”
Why pull the curtains?
It was as if they feared others wouldn’t know something shady was happening inside.
“Hey~ Long time no see, you two…”
The glamorous shop owner, wearing a tight skirt, greeted them from behind the counter with a beaming smile.
Her gaze lingered on them for a moment.
The shorter girl grabbed the hem of the woman’s clothes, letting go once they stopped.
Noticing the owner’s stare, she glanced back expressionlessly.
“It hasn’t been that long, has it?” Wei Qing replied casually, looking around the shop.
Her eyes swept over a collection of scandalous fabrics, and she rubbed her forehead, unable to hold back a sigh.
Though she shouldn’t have known much about such things, she couldn’t control her expression.
After a moment of silence, she voiced her confusion dryly.
“What’s with this…”
She trusted the owner and understood her meaning.
“Oh~ You’re quite surprised, aren’t you? Here’s the deal: business is tough these days. We sell clothes during the day, but at night, we cater to the crowd’s desires~ You know, people tend to impulse-buy at night. Of course, the items for impulse buying need to be… suitable.”
Lilith shrugged, her gaze drifting over them meaningfully.
“It’s also somewhat tied to my personal tastes.”
She casually pulled out a set of bright red lace panties and a bra, the kind that was very sheer.
“For example, I’m wearing this style today~ Haha, but in a different color.”
Wei Qing, “…”
She didn’t want to know, thanks.
Wei Qing noticed the girl beside her staring.
Sylvie looked at her, lifting her delicate eyelashes as if about to speak.
Wei Qing naturally covered her mouth, stopping her question in time.
Her expression looked gentle.
“Don’t ask. Don’t bother. No reason.”
From this little girl’s perspective, bringing her to a shop like this must have seemed baffling.
Wei Qing really didn’t know how to explain it.
Her cool fingers didn’t cover Sylvie’s mouth tightly, but the gesture was clear.
Sylvie blinked, looking at her, then licked her palm.
Wei Qing, “…”
She pulled her hand away and turned to Lilith.
“Do you have something less… that? Maybe cat ears?”
Lick, lick, lick…
Was this girl a cat in her past life or what?
“Oh… You like that kind of thing?”
Lilith covered her mouth in surprise.
“Of course we do.”
Lilith turned to rummage and soon handed them a gift box.
“Cat ears?”
Lilith nodded, her expression suggestive.
“Yes, a full set.”
“How much?”
“1888…”
Wei Qing turned to leave.
Lilith hurriedly called out, speeding up her words.
“Hey, hey, fine, fine! Since we’re acquaintances, I’ll give you a discount—888, okay?”
Wei Qing turned back gracefully, her expression soft.
“That works.”
“But, can the price drop that much? Isn’t that a bit too much wiggle room?” she added, her tone gentle but hesitant.
A random draw for some gag ball cost a thousand, and that thing had extra effects.
This was just 888…
Lilith, the shop owner, gritted her teeth, her gaze resentful as she glanced at Wei Qing.
“I’ll throw in a piece of lingerie, alright?” she said, sounding pained.
Wei Qing touched her chin, recalling the flimsy red fabric from earlier, and shook her head.
“No lingerie.”
“Fine, fine! I’ll give you something that’s not lingerie. Stop nitpicking! I’m a good sister trying to make a living here.”
Fearing Wei Qing would say more, Lilith asked, “It’s for this little lady’s size, right?”
Before Wei Qing could respond, the quiet girl beside her smiled, her voice soft.
“My size.”
Lilith laughed, as if worried they’d change their minds, and quickly turned.
“No problem, no problem.”
“Want to try it on?” she asked casually, holding up a folded piece of white fabric that looked somewhat decent.
Though, given the game’s setting, anything sold in a clothing store at night, even if “decent,” wouldn’t be *that* decent—just less indecent.
“Try…” Sylvie started, but Wei Qing covered her mouth again, interrupting her. Smiling, Wei Qing nodded to Lilith. “No need, thanks. Just pack it up.”
She tilted her head, her tone carrying a faint warning in Sylvie’s ear.
“No more licking.”
She didn’t want a repeat of last time’s incident here.
Sylvie wanted to cover her ears.
Wei Qing’s shallow breath brushed lightly against her cheek.
It tickled a bit.
She looked up, meeting Wei Qing’s gaze for a moment.
Wei Qing touched her nose, looking away somewhat awkwardly.
Sylvie’s mood lifted, and she curved her lips slightly.
