Teasing the Strawberry-Flavored Baby Alpha (ABO, GL) - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
September is the most comfortable time of the year in Linhai City. A few leisurely clouds are scattered in the sky, drifting aimlessly.
In front of Linhai City Experimental Primary School, it’s packed with parents and children. Today is September 1st, the first day of school for first-grade students. It’s 7:30 in the morning, not yet time for students and parents to enter the school, but the entrance is already crowded with people. Almost every child is accompanied by several parents.
Shen Tian is no exception. Her mother and mommy came with her early this morning. Starting primary school means waking up earlier than kindergarten, and Shen Tian’s little head is still foggy. She’s just doing whatever her mother and mommy tell her to do.
After standing for a while, Shen Tian feels tired. She tilts her little head up to Shen Xian and says, “Mommy, Tiantian is so tired. When can we go in~?”
Her words quickly catch the attention of the woman beside her. The woman is about 172 cm tall with a slender, well-proportioned figure. A black fitted long dress makes her stand out with an air of elegance.
Hearing her daughter call her, the woman glances at the woman beside her with a smile, then pinches Shen Tian’s little face and says, “Tiantian, hang in there a bit longer. Look, the other kids haven’t gone in yet. It’ll be soon. Lean on Mommy’s leg for now.”
The woman speaking is Shen Tian’s mommy, Shen Xian. Shen Tian obediently moves closer, leaning against Shen Xian, letting her mommy take some of her weight.
The woman next to Shen Xian leans over and pinches Shen Tian’s cheek. She exchanges a smile with Shen Xian, her eyes full of gentleness. Dressed in a moon-white long skirt, she seems to stand out even in the crowded group. This woman is Shen Tian’s mother, Lin Qinghan.
“Tiantian!!!”
Just as Shen Tian leans against Shen Xian, her eyes barely staying open, a familiar voice snaps her awake. She rubs her eyes and looks toward the sound. Seeing her kindergarten friend Li Mengmeng, she immediately perks up and waves, “Mengmeng, I’m over here!”
“Here I come!” Li Mengmeng pulls her mother and mommy toward Shen Tian.
The two kids, who haven’t seen each other for just a month since kindergarten graduation, act as excited as old friends reuniting after years.
Shen Tian hugs her little friend tightly. “Mengmeng, you’re here too! That’s great, we can play together again!”
“Yup, yup! Tiantian, I’m in Class 1. What class are you in?” Li Mengmeng asks, happily holding Shen Tian’s hand.
“I’m in Class 1 too! Awesome, we’re together again!” Shen Tian is thrilled.
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan watch the two kids chat with amusement, not interrupting.
After a while, at 8:00 a.m., the school’s security guards open the gate, guiding the new students and parents in an orderly manner into the school building.
Shen Tian holds her mother’s hand with her left hand and her mommy’s with her right. Her little ponytail swings as she walks, looking absolutely adorable.
Soon, Shen Tian, her mother, and her mommy arrive at Class 1 of the first grade. Linhai City Experimental Primary School is the best in the city, so parents go to great lengths to get their kids enrolled here. Many who don’t live in the area even buy houses nearby to transfer their household registration, just to secure a spot for their children.
Shen Tian’s mommy did the same, pulling strings to get Shen Tian into the best class in the school. Each grade has six classes, but Class 1 is special, with only 40 students and the best teachers in the grade. Classes 2 through 6 have more average teachers, and it’s an unspoken rule that the later the class number, the less prestigious it is. Everyone wants to be in the earlier classes.
In Class 1, every seat has a name tag. Shen Tian’s seat is in the third row in the middle. Guided by her mommy and mother, she sits down and looks at the name on the desk next to her—it’s Huang Shuai! Another kindergarten friend. Shen Tian gets even more excited. Huang Shuai and Li Mengmeng were her closest friends in kindergarten, and now they’re in the same class in primary school.
Shen Tian points to the desk beside her with her little hand. “Mother, Mommy, the desk next to me is Huang Shuai’s. We used to play together in kindergarten.”
Hearing this, Shen Tian’s mother, Lin Qinghan, feels a bit relieved. With friends around, her daughter won’t feel lonely during her six years of primary school.
“Good, with friends to keep Tiantian company, you won’t be lonely,” Lin Qinghan says to Shen Tian. Just then, Huang Shuai and his parents arrive. Huang Shuai is also thrilled to see Shen Tian and Li Mengmeng, knowing he’ll have playmates.
The classroom holds 40 kids and many parents, making it noisy with chatter. It isn’t until the class teacher walks in and taps the podium that the room gradually quiets down.
“Students and parents, please settle down. My name is Qiao Yunnian, and I’m the homeroom teacher for Class 1. For the next six years, we’ll be together…”
The teacher on the podium keeps talking. Shen Tian props her head up, listening while observing her new homeroom teacher. Teacher Qiao is in her forties, with shoulder-length short hair and narrow-framed glasses. She speaks quickly. Shen Tian, at six years old with limited experience, still senses that her teacher is probably quite capable.
The teacher is now telling parents that learning starts from childhood. Shen Tian, however, can’t focus anymore. Her big eyes feel heavy, blinking slowly, almost closing.
Lin Qinghan is listening attentively to the teacher, but Shen Xian can’t focus. Seeing Shen Tian’s eyes about to close, she pokes her daughter’s little arm, startling her awake.
Shen Tian immediately widens her nearly shut eyes, making Shen Xian struggle to hold back a laugh. Lin Qinghan glares at Shen Xian, and only then do Shen Xian and Shen Tian sit properly together.
Meanwhile, in Class 6, Lu Ningwan sits in the last row, her lips tightly pressed together. It’s the first day for new students, and every child has a parent with them—except her.
The boy sitting next to her, Liu Jiahao, who’s even shorter than her, whispers during the teacher’s speech, “Lu Ningwan, why didn’t your family come?”
Lu Ningwan slowly turns her head. Her eyes hold no warmth, and the boy shivers under her gaze, not daring to ask more. He pouts and looks away.
Lu Ningwan turns back, gripping her pencil tightly. Family? Over a year ago, she had a family, but her parents are gone now.
Mature for her age, and after everything she’s been through in the year since her parents’ passing, six-and-a-half-year-old Lu Ningwan knows she no longer has a family. Her uncle, aunt, and even her grandparents, who used to care for her, only took her in because her family’s company went bankrupt. After selling everything, adopting her came with a few million, a windfall for her working-class uncle and aunt.
As for today’s parent meeting, Lu Ningwan never expected anyone to show up for her. As she thought, things turned out exactly that way—she’s an orphan now.
Class 6’s teacher, Wang Ping, finishes her speech. With a final, “That’s all for today. Remember to be at school by 7:30 tomorrow,” the kids and parents start leaving.
Wang Ping notices Lu Ningwan sitting alone at the back. She’s seen the students’ files and knows about Lu Ningwan’s situation, but she’s surprised that no one came with her, especially since her file says she was adopted by her uncle and aunt.
“Lu Ningwan, come here for a moment.”
Lu Ningwan pauses while packing her schoolbag, then forces down her discomfort, finishes packing, and walks to the teacher. Her small schoolbag is an old one from kindergarten. Her uncle and aunt got new ones for her cousins, but she’s stuck with the old one.
Lu Ningwan stands in front of Teacher Wang, looking up at her directly.
Wang Ping glances at her and says, “Lu, why didn’t your parents come today?”
Lu Ningwan looks straight at Wang Ping. “Teacher, you’ve seen my file, haven’t you?”
Wang Ping didn’t expect Lu Ningwan to respond like that. Caught off guard by a child not even seven, she hesitates before saying, “Lu, don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean it that way. It’s just… why didn’t your uncle and aunt come?”
Lu Ningwan’s expression stays calm. “Because they have their own kids. They wouldn’t skip their kids’ parent meeting for me. Is there anything else, Teacher? If not, I need to go wait for them.”
She’s telling the truth. To her uncle and aunt, she’s a burden. If she doesn’t hurry to meet them, Lu Ningwan knows they won’t wait long. Even if they do, they’ll just grumble and curse at her. She doesn’t want to hear those dirty words.
Wang Ping stares at Lu Ningwan, struck by how mature this child is—mature in a way that feels like she understands everything. Wang Ping nods. “Go ahead, be careful on your way out.”
“Thank you, Teacher.” Lu Ningwan says, then walks out of the classroom.
On the first day of school, Shen Tian’s teacher is probably the chattiest of the six classes’ teachers. She goes on about not falling behind at the starting line before finally letting the kids go.
Shen Tian and her mommy, Shen Xian, both let out a sigh of relief at the same time.
Leaving the classroom, Shen Tian feels refreshed. Holding her mother’s hand in one hand and her mommy’s in the other, she skips along, practically radiating “I’m the happiest kid!”
While Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan are still chuckling at Shen Tian, she lets go of their hands and runs forward, shouting, “Sister Xiao Lu, Sister Xiao Lu~”
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan jump, hurrying to chase after their kid. They see her standing not far away, pouting and muttering to herself, “I swear I just saw Sister Xiao Lu~ Where did she go?”

Interpretation:
1. 沈羨 (Shen Xian) is most likely the stepmother or adoptive mother – someone Shen Tian has a close, loving relationship with and calls “mommy” (媽咪). The use of “媽咪” (more casual/intimate) supports this.
2. 林青寒 (Lin Qinghan) is likely Shen Tian’s biological mother – her formal title as “媽媽” (mother) and the elegant, reserved description imply a more distant or formal relationship.
Summary:
There are two maternal figures:
1. Shen Xian – The “mommy” who raised or currently cares for Shen Tian.
2. Lin Qinghan – The biological mother.
