Teasing the Strawberry-Flavored Baby Alpha (ABO, GL) - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Shen Tian looked around for a long time, but the figure she thought she saw was gone. Her eyes turned red with anxiety as she spoke to Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan, who had caught up to her. “Mother, Mommy, I think I just saw Sister Xiao Lu, but I couldn’t catch up to her. She’s gone again.”
Her voice grew softer as she spoke, her eyes redder, and she finally threw herself into Shen Xian’s arms, crying, “Mommy, Sister Xiao Lu… I can’t find her again, wuu wuu wuu~”
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan exchanged a glance. They hadn’t expected their daughter to be so attached. She still hadn’t forgotten the Sister Xiao Lu she’d been so fond of in kindergarten. “Tiantian, don’t cry. If you didn’t see wrong, at least we know Xiao Lu is at Experimental Primary School too. And coming out at this time, she’s definitely here for first grade, right?”
Her eyes still red, Shen Tian understood her mommy’s words and nodded eagerly. “Right! The teacher said there are six classes in total, so Sister Xiao Lu must be in one of them. Tomorrow at school, Tiantian will find her~” Thinking she might see Sister Xiao Lu tomorrow, Shen Tian cheered up for no reason.
It had been over a year since she last saw Sister Xiao Lu. Her mommy had said Xiao Lu transferred to another city, and Shen Tian had been sad for a long time. But now, knowing Sister Xiao Lu was here, Shen Tian was determined to find her tomorrow!
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan looked at Shen Tian with some helplessness. Their little girl was really smitten with that other girl.
Speaking of Lu Ningwan, she had been to Shen Tian’s house once. Shen Tian remembered it was when she was still in kindergarten. They had a cute little sister at home, so she invited Sister Xiao Lu over to see her and touch her chubby little hands. Shen Tian recalled that her sister, sitting in Xiao Lu’s lap, had wet Xiao Lu’s pants, and her mother and mommy had to help Xiao Lu change clothes.
The more Shen Tian thought about Sister Xiao Lu, the clearer the memories became, as if they happened yesterday. She even remembered Xiao Lu helping her complete a little yellow duck puzzle. That puzzle was still her treasure, kept carefully in a cabinet. Even though her mommy later bought her many other puzzles, Shen Tian felt the little yellow duck one was the most special.
On the other side, Lu Ningwan walked faster with her head down. She heard Shen Tian’s anxious calls, and though it had been a long time since they last met, she could never forget Shen Tian’s voice. Shen Tian was her only friend. With her cold personality, even when her parents were alive, Shen Tian was her only friend—let alone now, with her parents gone.
But she didn’t want to turn back. At just over six years old, Lu Ningwan felt too embarrassed about her current state to let her former friend see her like this. She thought someone like her didn’t deserve a friend like Shen Tian.
Outside the school, Lu Ningwan looked around and spotted her uncle and aunt waiting impatiently with her cousins. Before she even got close, she heard their grumbling.
“Why hasn’t that jinx come out yet? Dawdling like that, making all of us wait for her. I’ve never even waited this long for Deyu or Zixuan. What a big shot,” her aunt, Zhang Ruohua, said irritably, not bothering to lower her voice as Lu Ningwan approached.
“Exactly, Lu Ningwan is so annoying. Mom, I’m hungry,” her cousin Lu Deyu muttered.
“Brother, let’s not wait for her. I don’t like that pest,” her cousin Lu Zixuan added.
“Alright, alright, Ningwan’s here, isn’t she? Hurry up and get in the car,” her uncle Lu Ming said, playing the peacemaker halfheartedly.
Zhang Ruohua shot Lu Ningwan a big eye-roll, her disdain completely undisguised.
Lu Ming got into the driver’s seat, while Zhang Ruohua lifted her two kids into the child seats in the back. When it came to Lu Ningwan, no one helped her. Zhang Ruohua didn’t even glance at her, sitting in the front passenger seat. Lu Ningwan had to pull open the car door herself, climb in with her short legs, and struggle to close the door.
Zhang Ruohua glanced at Lu Ningwan in the rearview mirror and snapped, “Can you hurry up? Such a princess, always so slow.”
“Hahaha, Mom, her a princess? I’m the princess. Lu Ningwan’s just a wild kid,” Lu Zixuan giggled in the car, prompting Lu Deyu to laugh along.
The car filled with mocking laughter, and Lu Ningwan found the sounds刺耳. She tried hard to ignore their hurtful words, quietly climbing into her seat. Without a child seat, she held onto the door handle carefully to keep from falling.
At just over six years old, no matter how mature, those words still hurt deeply. Her eyes reddened, but she knew crying was useless—those who truly cared for her were gone.
Lu Ming, seeing his wife and kids had vented enough, played peacemaker again. “Alright, say less. Ningwan didn’t mean it. We’re family, so let’s be understanding.”
Lu Ningwan clenched her small hands at her sides. With no parents, she had nowhere else to go but to live under their roof.
Though she, Lu Deyu, and Lu Zixuan all attended this school, her cousins were in Class 2. The reason was simple: her uncle paid to get them into a better class. As for her, it was obvious they wouldn’t spend much on her. If it weren’t for saving face, Lu Ningwan truly believed her uncle and aunt might not even let her go to school.
Meanwhile, Shen Tian was happily sitting in her mommy’s Maybach, with her mother playing with her.
Lin Qinghan glanced at Shen Tian, then at Shen Xian driving. “Tiantian, you need to sleep earlier from now on, okay? Don’t think I didn’t notice—you were about to fall asleep while the teacher was talking. No watching cartoons for too long today.”
“Okay, Mother. I’ll sleep early today so I can go to school tomorrow and find Sister Xiao Lu~” Knowing Sister Xiao Lu was at the same school made Shen Tian inexplicably happy, and she couldn’t wait to go back to school.
Lin Qinghan poked Shen Tian’s cheek with amusement. “You’re supposed to study, not play. Oh well, as long as our Tiantian is happy.”
Shen Tian happily played with the stuffed toy in her arms.
Soon, Shen Xian’s Maybach pulled up in front of their villa.
Lin Qinghan carried Shen Tian out of the sports car. Shen Tian scampered into the house with ease. The housekeeper, Aunt Wang, saw Shen Tian’s lively cuteness and hurried after her, saying, “Tiantian, slow down, don’t fall.”
“It’s okay, I’m going to wash my hands~” Shen Tian said in her sweet voice, changing her shoes and running to the bathroom to wash her hands. Then she eagerly dashed to her little room, pulling a puzzle from a drawer beside her desk.
Shen Tian carefully took out the puzzle and spread it on the table. She saw a hand-drawn duck beak on the completed puzzle. She touched the spot gently. She’d always been reluctant to take the puzzle out too often—it was the only thing Sister Xiao Lu left her. If it got damaged, she’d lose even that trace of her. But now, things were different—she could find Sister Xiao Lu! She didn’t want to be apart from her!
Shen Tian played with the little yellow duck puzzle for a while. She’d improved a lot, and the puzzle wasn’t challenging anymore, but because of Sister Xiao Lu, it was still her favorite.
She carefully put the puzzle back in its box, closed the drawer, and ran to the room across the hall. Her grandma and Aunt Liu were playing with her little sister.
Seeing her sister, Shen Tian’s eyes lit up. Fang Jinglan, her grandma, waved her over. “Come, Tiantian, play with your sister for a bit.”
Shen Tian ran over with her short legs, kicked off her shoes, and climbed onto her sister’s big bed. Her little sister, Lin Yinan, wasn’t surnamed Shen like her, but she was her real sister. Her mommy said since Shen Tian took her mommy’s surname, her sister took her mother’s surname, so they had different last names.
Shen Tian loved her sister. The little one was fair, soft, and cuddly. Shen Tian’s favorite thing was playing with her sister’s soft hands, like little rabbit paws that didn’t scratch.
At one and a half, her sister could say a few words, though it depended on her mood. Right now, not having seen her big sister all day, she crawled toward Shen Tian, babbling, “Sis… sis… play…” Her tone was off, but Shen Tian understood.
Shen Tian proudly showed off to Fang Jinglan and Aunt Liu. “Grandma, Aunt Liu, my sister likes me and wants to play with me~”
Fang Jinglan laughed at the two kids. “Good, you two play.”
Shen Tian waited for her sister to crawl over, grabbing her chubby little hands to play. She couldn’t resist poking her sister’s chubby cheeks now and then. Now she understood why her mother and mommy loved pinching her cheeks—she loved pinching her sister’s cheeks too!
Her sister, knowing it was her big sister, wasn’t shy and climbed into Shen Tian’s lap to play.
Shen Tian happily held her sister’s chubby arms, shaking them and making her giggle.
Later that evening, without her mother or mommy reminding her, Shen Tian went to bed early. She couldn’t wait to find Sister Xiao Lu tomorrow!
