Teasing the Strawberry-Flavored Baby Alpha (ABO, GL) - Chapter 23
Chapter 23
On the tree-lined road of Linhai City Middle School, a girl with a ponytail carried a bag in her hand and walked toward the teaching building.
The girl, about twelve or thirteen years old, had a slender figure and a bright smile on her lovely face, already showing faint signs of her extraordinary beauty when grown.
“Shen Tian, what did you buy at the school supermarket? Is there any for me?” Zhao Zhilei jumped out from behind Shen Tian.
Shen Tian looked up and saw Zhao Zhilei, along with a few friends beside him who were making a fuss.
“I bought these for my friends and myself, so of course, there’s none for you. If Zhao wants to drink something, he should buy it himself,” Shen Tian said with some impatience, ignoring the people making noise nearby, and entered her classroom.
She glanced around the classroom and quickly locked eyes with Lu Ningwan, who sat by the window. Shen Tian’s lips curved slightly upward, and she walked over quickly. “Little Sister Lu, it’s too hot today, so I bought some sparkling water. You pick first.” As she spoke, Shen Tian opened the bag for Lu Ningwan to choose.
Lu Ningwan’s long hair fell casually over her shoulders, and her expressive eyes carried a touch of charm that Shen Tian didn’t have, like a rosebud ready to bloom, with small thorns already showing on its stem.
Lu Ningwan looked at the flavors of the sparkling water in the bag, picked out a lime-flavored one and a watermelon-flavored one, and said, “Go ahead, give the rest to your two friends.”
“Got it,” Shen Tian replied without delay. She walked a few steps, tossed the remaining two bottles of sparkling water to Li Mengmeng, letting her and Huang Shuai split them, and then returned to her seat in a few steps.
After entering middle school, Shen Tian and Lu Ningwan’s seats were next to each other. On her desk sat the watermelon-flavored sparkling water. Shen Tian smiled, unscrewed the cap, and took a few sips of the ice-cold sparkling water, feeling refreshed all over.
Lu Ningwan looked at Shen Tian, waiting until Shen Tian finished drinking the sparkling water before speaking. “Tiantian, you didn’t run into any weird people when you went out, did you?”
Shen Tian immediately understood. Her Little Sister Lu meant Zhao Zhilei. Lately, Zhao Zhilei always tried to talk to her, and his classmates loved to tease. Not only was she annoyed, but her Little Sister Lu was unhappy too.
“I ran into Zhao Zhilei asking me for a drink, but I ignored him,” Shen Tian answered while leaning back in her chair to rest.
“Good, stay away from them. We’re still young and need to focus on studying,” Lu Ningwan said, looking at Shen Tian with care. Her Tiantian was so young, and of course, she shouldn’t date early.
In terms of looks, Lu Ningwan was a bit more charming than Shen Tian, but Lu Ningwan was usually quite aloof. Not many people dared to joke or talk with her. A few bold boys who confessed to Lu Ningwan were all shut down by her before anything started.
“Definitely, I just find them annoying,” Shen Tian agreed with a nod.
Seeing Shen Tian’s obedient response, Lu Ningwan smiled, opened the cap of her sparkling water, and took a few sips. The cool, refreshing sparkling water lifted Lu Ningwan’s spirits.
After a short while, Lu Ningwan felt a pain in her lower abdomen, and her brows furrowed slightly.
“Little Sister Lu, what’s wrong? Is the sparkling water too cold? Should we go to the school nurse?” Shen Tian asked nervously. It was the long break between classes, and many classmates had gone to the playground to get some air, so the classroom wasn’t crowded.
Lu Ningwan felt something sticky between her legs and wanted to go to the bathroom. As she stood up and turned to grab some tissue, a bloodstain appeared on the hem of her school uniform skirt.
Shen Tian immediately knew what it was. “Little Sister Lu, wait for me in the bathroom for a bit. Here, let me tie this around you first.” She wrapped her own school uniform jacket around Lu Ningwan’s waist.
“What’s wrong?” Lu Ningwan vaguely knew what was happening but still felt a bit panicked.
Shen Tian leaned closer and whispered so only they could hear, “Little Sister Lu, you got your period, and it stained your skirt.”
Seeing Lu Ningwan’s panic, Shen Tian quickly added, “Little Sister Lu, don’t be scared. I know how to handle this. Just wait for me in the bathroom.”
With that, Shen Tian led Lu Ningwan out of the classroom. They reached the bathroom door together, and then Shen Tian hurriedly ran downstairs.
The school supermarket was near the playground. Shen Tian quickened her pace, entered the supermarket, grabbed some items, paid, and jogged back to the teaching building.
Lu Ningwan felt uneasy. It was her first period, and the sticky discomfort made her unsure what to do as she stood at the bathroom door.
In less than ten minutes, Shen Tian returned. Her hair was slightly messy, and a few beads of sweat glistened on her forehead. She smiled at Lu Ningwan. “Little Sister Lu, let’s go inside. Good thing the supermarket had everything. I got it all.”
Lu Ningwan nodded and followed Shen Tian into the bathroom.
The bathroom wasn’t crowded. Shen Tian took out the items she bought from the bag. “Little Sister Lu, I got underwear and sanitary pads. Do you know how to use the pads?”
Seeing Lu Ningwan’s confused look, Shen Tian took out a pad and explained. Back at home, she had been curious and asked Shen Xian about it, and now that knowledge came in handy.
“Little Sister Lu, go change. I’ll wait here for you.”
“Okay,” Lu Ningwan replied, taking the items into a bathroom stall. After changing her inner clothes and putting on her school uniform skirt, she noticed bloodstains on Shen Tian’s jacket too. Her own skirt had a noticeable stain, and for now, she could only use Shen Tian’s jacket to cover it.
When Shen Tian saw Lu Ningwan come out, she immediately went over. “Little Sister Lu, how are you feeling? Does your stomach still hurt?”
Lu Ningwan shook her head. The panic on her face had faded somewhat. “I’m fine now, much better than before, just not used to it. Tiantian, your jacket got stained too. I’ll wash it and return it to you, but I might need to use it for now.”
Shen Tian flashed a big smile. “No problem. Little Sister Lu can use my stuff anytime. You don’t need to wash it. I’ll wash it myself.”
“No way, I’ll wash it clean tomorrow and return it to you,” Lu Ningwan insisted.
Shen Tian thought for a moment, and her eyes lit up. “Mother said we shouldn’t use cold water to wash clothes during this time. I’ll wash it myself, Little Sister Lu. Don’t worry about it.”
Lu Ningwan and Shen Tian talked as they walked back. On the way, they ran into Zhao Zhilei and his group, who had just finished playing basketball.
Zhao Zhilei wasn’t upset that Shen Tian had ignored him earlier. He smiled and approached, but Lu Ningwan glared at him fiercely.
Zhao Zhilei’s step forward instantly retreated, and he felt confused. He had barely spoken to Lu Ningwan before, so why did she seem to dislike him so much?
Still, Zhao Zhilei mustered the courage to say to Shen Tian, “Hey, Shen Tian, want to go home together after school? I got a bike with a back seat. It’s pretty fun to ride.”
Before Shen Tian could respond, Lu Ningwan answered first. “My Tiantian has a private car to pick her up. This classmate should save his effort. If you keep bothering my Tiantian like this, I’ll have to tell the teacher.”
“Wait, who are you? I’m talking to Shen Tian. Why are you so worked up?” Zhao Zhilei said, slightly annoyed. At this school, where boys and girls hadn’t yet differentiated, he was popular among the boys and hadn’t faced this kind of treatment before.
Seeing him speak rudely to Lu Ningwan, Shen Tian’s usually calm brow furrowed. “How can you talk like that? Little Sister Lu is very important to me. Don’t talk to her that way, Zhao Zhilei. Can you stop always trying to talk to me for no reason? It’s really childish.”
Without waiting for Zhao Zhilei, whose face had darkened, Shen Tian took Lu Ningwan’s hand and walked away.
Zhao Zhilei’s friend Guo Jie teased him jokingly. “Zhao, you’re not cutting it. She’s not falling for your charm.”
Zhao Zhilei was already frustrated, and hearing Guo Jie mock him, he smacked Guo Jie and huffed, “What do you know? Girls and Omegas all like athletic, handsome guys. Just wait for this week’s PE class when we play ball. I bet Shen Tian will see me differently.”
“Really, Zhao? We don’t even know what we’ll differentiate into yet. Isn’t it too early to think about that?” Guo Jie continued.
“Too early? Alphas and Omegas are rare. In a class of fifty, maybe only five or six will differentiate into alphas or Omegas. The rest are betas. Look at me—I’m definitely an alpha, or at worst, a beta. Shen Tian’s so sweet-looking, she’s either an Omega or a beta. Our attributes are totally compatible,” Zhao Zhilei analyzed, successfully convincing his small group of followers.
Seeing Zhao Zhilei get shut down, Lu Ningwan’s lips curved slightly upward before quickly settling. She squeezed Shen Tian’s hand, which she was holding, to bring Shen Tian’s attention back to her.
“Little Sister Lu?” Shen Tian looked at Lu Ningwan with some confusion.
Lu Ningwan smiled at Shen Tian. “It’s nothing. I just think my Tiantian is so good.”
Shen Tian returned a big smile to Lu Ningwan. “Of course, I listen to Little Sister Lu the most. Don’t be mad, Little Sister Lu. I won’t pay attention to that Zhao Zhilei anymore. He’s too rude.”
“Good. At our age, we should focus on studying so mother and mommy can rest easy,” Lu Ningwan advised.
Shen Tian nodded obediently in agreement.
Back in the classroom, Shen Tian had Lu Ningwan sit to the side while she used wet wipes to clean the bloodstain on Lu Ningwan’s chair.
Lu Ningwan wanted to clean it herself, but it was too late to stop Shen Tian. Thinking about the bloodstain she caused, Lu Ningwan’s ears turned red. Her Tiantian was too thoughtful—not only did she not mind the stain on her clothes, but she was also busy taking care of her. Thinking about it made Lu Ningwan happy, and even the discomfort in her lower abdomen eased a lot.
Shen Tian wiped the chair clean with wet wipes, then used dry tissues to dry the water stains. She turned to Lu Ningwan, who was waiting behind her, and said, “Little Sister Lu, I’m done. You can sit now.”
“Okay, you stop running around too. You already made a trip for me, and your hair’s a bit messy. Are you tired?” Lu Ningwan asked while helping Shen Tian tidy the hair that had fallen on both sides.
Shen Tian looked at Lu Ningwan, letting her fix her hair obediently. “I’m not tired. As long as Little Sister Lu feels okay, I’m good.”
“I feel fine. How are you so good?” Lu Ningwan said, poking Shen Tian’s dimple. She looked so sweet and cute—no wonder so many people wanted to talk to her Tiantian. Luckily, her Tiantian hadn’t caught on to that yet.
