Lu Ningwan did not feel the stifling sensation in her heart ease a little until she walked out to the yard. The atmosphere inside the house had made her deeply uncomfortable just moments ago, especially the words her grandmother had spoken, which had made Lu Ningwan feel utterly humiliated.

Her uncle Lu Ming had never fulfilled any parental duties toward her at all. This so-called grandmother, who had never once inquired about her, actually wanted to brainwash her into showing filial piety to Lu Ming. Lu Ningwan found everything that had just happened utterly ridiculous.

Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu tussled and pulled at each other as they went out the courtyard gate. Lu Dezhou looked up and saw Lu Ningwan sitting on the stone bench under the banyan tree across the yard.

Sunlight filtered through the dappled leaves, highlighting the girl’s lovely features and cool temperament in the distance.

Lu Dezhou licked his lips. The restless bl00d in his body boiled. The cleaner and more outstanding the girl, the more thrilling it was to drag her into the mud.

Lu Dezhou ignored Lu Deyu behind him and walked straight toward Lu Ningwan.

Lu Ningwan naturally saw the two unwelcome guests heading her way. She gave them a cold glance and casually fiddled with the watch on her wrist a few times.

Lu Dezhou shook his head dismissively, smiled with a hint of roguishness, and said, “Lu Ningwan, right? You’re pretty good-looking. Way better than the girls in our school. By the way, do you have a boyfriend?”

“Lu Dezhou, watch your words and show some respect. I don’t want to hear that kind of meaningless talk a second time,” Lu Ningwan said coldly.

“Ha, respect? Fine, I’ll show some respect. Speaking of which, I’m still your brother, you know. Come on, Lu Ningwan, call me brother.” As Lu Dezhou spoke, he grinned and leaned closer to Lu Ningwan, wanting to sit with her on the stone bench.

“You’re crazy. It’s the middle of the day,” Lu Deyu said, nearly exploding with anger. He was just afraid the adults would find out.

“So what if it’s daytime? Don’t worry—in a little while, those thin-skinned girls won’t even tell their families if something like that happens. They’re afraid of losing face, right? And we’re not scared anyway.” Lu Dezhou completely disregarded Lu Deyu’s words.

Lu Ningwan’s brows remained furrowed as she entered the room where everyone had been earlier. By now, the meal preparations were nearly complete, and the adults sat chatting together.

“What sexual harassment? Is that how you talk? So ugly.” As Liu Xiangping spoke, she stepped forward to push Lu Ningwan.

Lu Ming hurriedly asked Zhang Ruohua to help hold her back while saying to Lu Ningwan, “Ningwan, say a little less for now. Whatever it is, you can tell Uncle privately later. Sister-in-law, calm down too. Don’t stoop to a child’s level.”

“No way. Today I have to make her explain herself clearly.” Liu Xiangping clamored.
