Teasing the Strawberry-Flavored Baby Alpha (ABO, GL) - Chapter 29
Chapter 29
During dinner that evening, Lu Ningwan felt deeply uncomfortable under Lu Dezhou’s constant gaze. But it was too dark outside, and she was unfamiliar with the village, so staying in the room with the adults turned out to be her best choice.
The New Year’s Eve dinner always involved plenty of toasting. In previous years, Lu Ming would drink more, but this year he felt something off about Lu Dezhou and kept his wits about him by not drinking too much.
Zhang Ruohua drank quite a bit, and Lu Ming got roped into downing a cup and a half by Lu Peng. Because of Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu, Lu Ningwan had not dared to go to the bathroom all afternoon.
The toilet at the old home was built in the yard, just like the old public ones, with an open door. Bricks formed a wall in front of it, serving as the door. And family toilets generally had no such niceties—they did not separate men and women, which left Lu Ningwan with very little sense of security.
She did not want to go alone, and Lu Zixuan disliked her, so the only person Lu Ningwan could turn to was Zhang Ruohua. Fortunately, since connecting with the Shen family, Zhang Ruohua’s attitude toward her had been decent. Lu Ningwan spoke up to Zhang Ruohua. “Auntie, I need to use the toilet. It’s too dark over there. Could you come with me?”
Zhang Ruohua had drunk some, but she had not forgotten Lu Ningwan’s ties to the Shen family. Though she did not want to go out deep down, she did not show it on her face. “It is pretty dark outside. Alright, I’ll go with you. Lu Ming, you keep Mom and the others company while we eat. Ningwan and I will be right back.”
“Okay,” Lu Ming replied as he ate.
Liu Xiangping swallowed a mouthful of food and said, “Lu Ming, you two really spoil this child. She can’t even go to the toilet by herself and needs someone to accompany her.”
Lu Ming smiled. “Hey, she’s my brother’s child after all. It’s only right that I treat her well.”
“Dad, you all just spoil Lu Ningwan too much. Even Auntie here has noticed,” Lu Zixuan chimed in with a sarcastic tone. She had long disliked Lu Ningwan.
Lu Deyu, on the other hand, grew a bit anxious. He and Lu Dezhou had planned to strike when the adults got drunk later and Lu Ningwan was alone. But now it seemed Lu Ningwan was too vigilant and gave them no chance at all.
Lu Dezhou stood up and said he was full and going out to watch people set off fireworks. He gave Lu Deyu a look, and Lu Deyu rose to glance at Lu Ming. “I’ll go with Brother to watch the fireworks.”
After the two went out, Lu Dezhou quickly pulled Lu Deyu aside and whispered a few words.
“Go on, hurry. If we wait too long, it won’t work,” Lu Dezhou said, giving Lu Deyu a push.
Lu Deyu dawdled and looked back at Lu Dezhou three steps at a time, which infuriated Lu Dezhou until his face flushed red.
After dragging his feet for a minute or two, Lu Deyu finally shuffled over to Zhang Ruohua’s side.
Zhang Ruohua had drunk plenty and felt a bit dizzy now. Seeing Lu Deyu approach, she asked, “What are you doing over here? Need the toilet? Someone’s inside. Wait a bit.”
Lu Deyu rubbed his hands nervously. “Um, Mom, Zixuan just called for you. Not sure if it’s something urgent.”
“Oh? But Ningwan’s scared to use the toilet, so I’m waiting here for her.” Zhang Ruohua usually doted on Lu Zixuan the most, and the moment she heard her daughter needed her, she took the bait right away.
“It’s fine. I need to go anyway. I’ll stand guard for her here,” Lu Deyu said after a moment’s thought.
“Alright then. I’ll head inside and check.” Zhang Ruohua figured Lu Ningwan would be okay now that she had finished. She was just afraid of the dark, and having someone outside to watch would do. It did not have to be her specifically.
Inside, Lu Ningwan hurriedly stood up, pulling up her pants as she shouted to Zhang Ruohua outside. “Auntie, I’m done too. Wait for me just a second. I’ll be right out.”
Zhang Ruohua heard and stopped in her tracks. Lu Deyu grew anxious and pushed her along as he spoke. “Mom, go back quick. I’ll wait for Lu Ningwan. Sister’s in a hurry for you.”
Zhang Ruohua thought it made sense. Since Lu Ningwan had finished using the toilet, she did not need to wait. She hurried back to the house to see what her daughter wanted.
When Lu Ningwan came out, only Lu Deyu and Lu Dezhou remained outside the toilet.
The toilet sat in the corner of the yard, some distance from the house. It was past eight in the evening, and the village rang with nonstop sounds of firecrackers, poppers, and Roman candles. Lu Ningwan skirted around the two, not planning to have much contact with them outside. She fiddled with her watch a few times and started to leave, but Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu blocked her path, one on each side.
“Don’t go. We brothers have something for you, little sister,” Lu Dezhou said. He was indeed bad in school—had even gotten a room with a girl from the rough crowd at fourteen. Now he acted like an old hand, eyeing Lu Ningwan.
“I have nothing to say to you two.” With that, Lu Ningwan lifted her foot to leave again.
Lu Dezhou reached out to block her. In his mind, girls like Lu Ningwan seemed tough but were actually timid. He simply unzipped his pants and pulled out his thing, raising an eyebrow with a wicked grin. “Know what this is, little sister? Someone as high and mighty as you probably doesn’t have a boyfriend yet. Come closer. Brother will teach you properly. In a bit, I’ll make you feel so good you can’t stand it.”
Lu Deyu stood stunned. He had not expected Lu Dezhou to just pull it out like that.
Seeing no reaction from Lu Deyu, Lu Dezhou sneered. “Deyu, why don’t you pull yours out and let little sister see if she likes the size? Too small to show, huh?”
Lu Deyu’s anger flared at Lu Dezhou’s words. “Fvck you. Mine’s definitely bigger than yours.” With that, Lu Deyu pulled his out too.
With Lu Deyu and Lu Dezhou focused on comparing sizes, Lu Ningwan seized the moment and kicked Lu Dezhou in the crotch with all her strength. Lu Dezhou doubled over in pain, clutching himself below as he yelled at Lu Deyu. “What the fvck are you standing there for? Grab this stupid b1tch for me. It fucking hurts like hell.”
Lu Deyu zipped up his pants. By then, Lu Ningwan had already bolted toward the house, shouting as she ran. “Uncle, Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu just tried to bully me. Everyone, come out quick.”
Zhang Ruohua had just returned to the house and asked Lu Zixuan about it, but Lu Zixuan said she had not called her. Since Lu Ningwan had finished using the toilet, Zhang Ruohua stayed put.
The moment Lu Ming heard Lu Ningwan’s voice, he hurried out and saw her standing at the door, along with Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu not far off.
“What happened, Ningwan?” Lu Ming just wanted a peaceful New Year back home and then to send Lu Ningwan safely back to the Shen family. He did not want any trouble.
“Lu Dezhou and Lu Deyu just exposed their genitals and tried to molest me.” Lu Ningwan’s heart still pounded wildly. Thinking back on it, she felt a lingering fear.
Lu Ming’s mind nearly short-circuited. Had Lu Ningwan just said “molest”?
While the two spoke, the other adults came out too. Liu Xiangping, already woozy from drink, saw her son squatting and groaning in the distance and ran over at once. “Dezhou, what’s wrong?”
“Mom, that b1tch Lu Ningwan kicked me in the balls. It hurts so much,” Lu Dezhou said, unable to straighten up.
The moment Liu Xiangping heard her son had been wronged, she charged over, raising her hand to slap Lu Ningwan. Lu Ming blocked her. “Sister-in-law, whatever it is, let’s talk it out. Don’t act on impulse first.”
“What’s there to talk about? Lu Ningwan, you dare hit my son. I’ll fight you.” Liu Xiangping’s face twisted as she shouted.
Lu Ningwan clenched her fists tightly. “I kicked him in self-defense. He exposed his genitals first and tried to molest me. I had no choice but to do it.”
“You fucking liar. My son molest you? He’s had girlfriends since his teens. Why would he bother with you? If anything, you threw yourself at him shamelessly. What did you just say? That my son and Lu Deyu both exposed themselves to you? Fine, at such a young age, hooking up with two guys at once…” Liu Xiangping’s words grew more and more vile.
Lu Ningwan held back the churning emotions in her heart and the waves of nausea in her stomach. She sent the wide-angle camera footage from her smartwatch to Shen Xian via Feixin. She lifted her wristwatch to her lips. “Mommy, someone is bullying me here. Come save me quick.” She did not even realize her voice trembled as she spoke to Shen Xian. After that, she sent her location to Shen Xian too.
Liu Xiangping’s cursing grew too foul, and even Lu Ming could not stand it. He shoved her back hard. “Liu Xiangping, stick to the facts. Things aren’t clear yet—don’t curse so viciously. If you want bad bl00d between our families, I don’t care.”
Liu Xiangping glared at Lu Ming in fury. “What are you so smug about? Lu Ningwan said your son molested her too. Stop pretending to be the good guy.”
Lu Ming’s brows furrowed. He glared at Lu Deyu. He knew his own son—Lu Deyu usually disliked Lu Ningwan, but he should not do something this outrageous. “Lu Deyu, tell me yourself. Did you do it?”
Lu Deyu kept his head down and said softly, “I didn’t.”
Lu Ming clearly believed his son more. He turned to Lu Ningwan. “Ningwan, Deyu says he didn’t do it. Could there be some misunderstanding?”
Lu Ningwan’s eyes reddened with anger. “I recorded everything that just happened and kept a backup. If you don’t believe me, everyone can watch. We can call the police and handle it that way. If I’m lying, let them take me away. If those two are lying, then they get taken away.”
As Lu Ningwan pulled out her phone to call the police, Lu Ming pressed her hand down. He turned and glared at Lu Deyu. “Lu Deyu, think it over. Are you going to say it or not? If you do, there’s still a chance to settle it privately. If not, you heard what she said.”
Lu Deyu nearly hated Lu Dezhou to death. If not for Lu Dezhou egging him on, he never would have—or rather, dared to—show his darkest side. Now the whole family knew what he had done.
Lu Deyu bit his teeth hard and forced out a few words with difficulty. “What Lu Ningwan said is true.”
Lu Ming nearly exploded with rage—not because Lu Ningwan had been bullied, but simply because his son was such a disgrace. He had taken half of his brother Lu Cheng’s assets and gone to great lengths to get Lu Deyu and Lu Zixuan into the city’s best elementary and middle schools. He never expected his son to do something like this. In fury, Lu Ming slapped Lu Deyu hard across the face. Half of Lu Deyu’s face turned red instantly.
Zhang Ruohua’s drunken haze had scared off by now. She had not expected her son to do such a thing either, but she still ached for him and pulled Lu Deyu behind her to shield him. “Lu Ming, talk it out. Don’t hit the child like that. You’ll ruin him.”
“If he’s ruined, he brought it on himself. I worked hard to put him through school so he could learn well and get a good job later—not for this kind of filthy nonsense.” Lu Ming sighed and turned to Lu Ningwan. “Ningwan, what happened today was indeed their fault. But look, we’re family after all. I’ve scolded Deyu, and you kicked Lu Dezhou too. I’ll have them apologize to you. Can we let it go? Calling the police over New Year’s isn’t auspicious. If you don’t want to stay here, I’ll drive you back to the city.”
Lu Ningwan bit her teeth hard to keep from crying. As expected, no one truly considered her feelings. If she had not pushed Lu Dezhou away and run out just now, did she deserve to be bullied by two scum? Lu Ming’s words were all for his son’s sake. In the eyes of these so-called relatives, she was utterly worthless—just a tool for them to gain benefits.
“There’s no auspicious or inauspicious about it. They tried to molest me—that’s a fact. I have to call the police and resolve it.” Lu Ningwan stared straight at the adults watching her, her words showing no room for retreat.
Seeing Lu Dezhou recover a bit, Liu Xiangping feared Lu Ningwan might really call the police and chimed in. “Exactly. Our Dezhou took a kick from you, and I haven’t even asked for medical fees yet. Now you want to call the police? I say we drop it. You city folk are delicate. It was just a flash—nothing actually touched you.”
Lu Ningwan trembled with anger. “Uncle, if Zixuan had been the one hurt just now, you certainly wouldn’t drop it, would you?”
Lu Ming looked away, unable to meet Lu Ningwan’s gaze.
Zhang Ruohua tried to smooth things over. “Ningwan, we’re doing this for your own good too. Calling the police over something like this won’t look good for your reputation later.”
“Heh, I’m not the one who did wrong. Those two should be the ones ashamed. You people really are hypocrites.” Lu Ningwan swept her gaze over the group.
The old lady and her younger brother in the house had listened long enough to grasp the whole matter and shuffled out unsteadily. “No calling the police. It’s New Year’s. Lu Ningwan, you’re standing here fine, aren’t you? What police? If you call them, this old woman won’t live anymore.”
“Right, if you call the police, I won’t live either.” Lu Dezhou’s grandfather sat down on the ground too.
Lu Ningwan’s heart turned ice-cold. She felt an awful chill on her skin, as if all her bl00d had frozen. Looking at the two elders on the ground, she let out a cold laugh. “If you won’t live, then hurry up and die. Live or die as you please. Today, I’m calling the police no matter what.”
The old lady had not expected Lu Ningwan to say that. She had been faking a cry, but Lu Ningwan’s words made her forget to keep it up.
“Lu Ningwan, I have no granddaughter like you. You ungrateful wretch. We worked so hard to raise you, and this is how you repay us.” The old lady roared through her fake sobs.
Lu Ningwan ignored whatever she said and sent the video of these people throwing tantrums to force her to compromise to Shen Xian. Shen Xian, frantic on her end, sent Lu Ningwan several voice messages and made over a dozen calls, but Lu Ningwan stayed locked in confrontation with the group and did not pick up.
Lu Ningwan pulled out her phone and dialed 110. Liu Xiangping panicked. “Quick, stop her. We can’t let her call the police.”
Lu Ming stepped forward. His mind raced in turmoil—one part still wanted to use Lu Ningwan, the other feared she might really call the police.
Lu Ningwan stepped back and said to the group, “I just sent the video to Auntie Shen and my location too. She should be here soon. You know who she is, I think. If you try to grab me and force me to drop it, you might end up adding a charge for unlawful detention.”
The moment Lu Ming heard Shen Xian already knew, cold sweat broke out on his back. He could not afford to offend Shen Xian, nor did he want his son to have a record. For a moment, he had no idea what to do.
Only Liu Xiangping and her husband did not know who Shen Xian was and kept yelling to drag Lu Ningwan back inside first. “Quick, help get Lu Ningwan back in the house. Who cares who this Shen family is? Even if the king himself came, I wouldn’t be scared.”
Lu Ming went mad with anger. It was all because of Liu Xiangping’s son that this happened. He shoved the charging Liu Xiangping aside and said coldly, “If you don’t want to go to jail, don’t touch her. She knows people we can’t afford to cross.”
