Teasing the Strawberry-Flavored Baby Alpha (ABO, GL) - Chapter 38
Chapter 38
The next morning when Shen Tian woke up, she looked at her empty arms and then at Lu Ningwan not far from her. She pouted aggrievedly and scooted over to Lu Ningwan’s side. It had been a whole night now, so her Little Lu sister should have cooled off, right?
As soon as Lu Ningwan woke up, she saw her little puppy gazing at her with a face full of expectation. Lu Ningwan’s lips curved up slightly, and she reached out to poke Shen Tian’s cheek. “What are you doing? Why are you so close this early in the morning?”
Shen Tian flashed Lu Ningwan a sweet smile before she spoke. “Little Lu sister, I slept all by myself obediently for a whole night. You’re not mad anymore, right? Hehe.”
Lu Ningwan almost laughed out loud at the sight of her little puppy trying to please her. She poked Shen Tian’s left shoulder and said, “Go on, tell me. What scheme do you have for coming over so early?”
Shen Tian felt a bit shy at those words. She buried her face in Lu Ningwan’s shoulder, rubbing against it coquettishly, then peeked out to look at Lu Ningwan. “Little Lu sister, you haven’t given me today’s good morning kiss yet.”
With that, she looked up at Lu Ningwan with expectant little eyes.
Lu Ningwan chuckled helplessly and pinched her little puppy’s cheek. She laughed and said, “Alright, you’ve got a good memory. You even remember the good morning kiss?”
Shen Tian smiled, and her eyes lit up too. Her Little Lu sister was willing to play along with her, so she would probably give her the good morning kiss, right? “Of course I remember. Last night, I almost didn’t sleep well at all.” Shen Tian muttered the second half of her sentence quietly, not daring to say it too loudly.
“Did Tiantian mean it’s all my fault that you didn’t sleep well?” Lu Ningwan raised an eyebrow and looked at her little puppy.
Shen Tian immediately shook her head. “No, no. It’s all my fault. I was the one who made Little Lu sister mad first. As long as Little Lu sister doesn’t blame me, that’s good enough.”
Lu Ningwan nodded in satisfaction. “That’s more like it.” With that, she planted a kiss on her little puppy’s cheek.
When Shen Tian saw that Lu Ningwan had kissed her, her eyes narrowed happily. “Hehe, I knew Little Lu sister was the best to me.”
Lu Ningwan simply reached out and pulled her little puppy into her arms. She had to admit, even though they slept in the same bed, not holding each other much still felt like something was missing.
Shen Tian saw Lu Ningwan hugging her, and a smile bloomed on her face as she nestled in Lu Ningwan’s arms. Seeing that her Little Lu sister was no longer mad, the little puppy pushed her luck and said, “Little Lu sister, you haven’t written your name on me today yet.” With that, she cheerfully tilted her face toward Lu Ningwan.
Lu Ningwan looked at Shen Tian with a helpless smile. Could she say her little puppy was innocent and knew nothing? Yet her little puppy was clearly very invested in things like kissing and hugging with her. Could she say her little puppy understood? Yet she really didn’t.
Lu Ningwan gazed at Shen Tian, her eyes full of gentle affection. Oh well, she had ignored her little puppy for a whole night already. Since her little puppy wanted it, she would give it to her. With that thought, Lu Ningwan pressed her lips to the other side of Shen Tian’s cheek.
Sure enough, once she got what she wanted, the little puppy’s eyes curved with delight.
On the weekend, Lu Ningwan and Shen Tian both had the day off. Lu Ningwan got up early to learn how to make custard buns with Wang Auntie. After all, her little puppy loved them. Even if she didn’t usually cook at home, it was still good to learn ahead of time, just in case someone tried to lure her little puppy away with food.
Lu Ningwan learned quickly, and Wang Auntie praised her endlessly.
Before long, Shen Tian came over to join in the fun. “Little Lu sister, if you wanted to eat custard buns, why didn’t you call me to do it with you?”
Lu Ningwan shot her little puppy an amused glare. “You’re the one who wants to eat them, aren’t you? I’m learning from Wang Auntie. What if one day neither Wang Auntie nor mommy is around, and someone wants to eat custard buns? What then?”
Shen Tian immediately matched herself to that “someone” and ran over to tug at Lu Ningwan’s arm coquettishly. “Hehe, I still have Little Lu sister to make custard buns for me. Little Lu sister, let me help you.”
“Forget it. I know you too well. Don’t you just want to play with the dough again?” Lu Ningwan glanced at Shen Tian and said with a smile.
Shen Tian broke into a big grin. “A little bit. Little Lu sister, give me a piece of dough, and I’ll make a little chicken to eat.”
Looking at her adorable little puppy, Lu Ningwan handed Shen Tian a piece of dough about the size of half a fist. “Here. Don’t ask for more.”
“Okay. I’ll make the prettiest little chicken. Little Lu sister, later we’ll split one between the two of us.” As Shen Tian spoke, she washed her hands and started shaping a little chicken on the cutting board.
Wang Auntie watched the two grown children and felt genuine warmth in her heart. She had worked for the Shen family for many years and had basically raised these three kids as her own. When she first arrived, she had always thought children from wealthy families were spoiled and pampered, and getting along with them might not be easy. But these three children had been raised so well. Their lives were carefree, yet they never acted superior because of their family’s money. They knew how to respect others.
Shen Tian had no idea what Wang Auntie was thinking. Right now, she was focused intently on shaping the little chicken in her hands. Lu Ningwan watched from the side and couldn’t help laughing. Her little puppy really hadn’t grown up at all.
Lin Yinan saw the lively scene in the kitchen and came in to take a look. “Little Lu sister, are you and Wang Auntie making custard buns?”
Lu Ningwan smiled. “Yeah. Yinan, want to join?”
“Sure.” Lin Yinan washed her hands and started wrapping custard buns alongside Lu Ningwan. She didn’t forget to shoot her own sister a disdainful look. “Little Lu sister, my sister’s causing trouble again. Look, she’s playing with the dough over there.”
Lu Ningwan looked at the two sisters with amusement. They always loved to bicker with each other whenever they were together.
Shen Tian glanced at her little sister indignantly. “Little Lu sister gave it to me to play with. Hmph, I’ll make a little chicken later, and you won’t get any. Little Lu sister and I will eat it all.”
“I wouldn’t eat it anyway. So childish.” Lin Yinan mocked her sister’s childish behavior.
Lu Ningwan listened to the sisters’ banter from the side, her shoulders shaking with laughter. And with her Tiantian’s skills, she had no real expectations for that little chicken.
Ten minutes later, after Shen Tian’s persistent efforts, an ugly little chicken finally took shape. Its body was plump and round, but its head was all crooked. Shen Tian proudly held up the little chicken to show Lu Ningwan. “Little Lu sister, I finished it. Isn’t it cute?”
Lu Ningwan glanced at the ugly little chicken, then turned her gaze to her little puppy and said softly, “Cute.”
Lin Yinan nearly rolled her eyes to the heavens. Only Little Lu sister would spoil her sister like this and call such an ugly little chicken cute?
When Shen Tian heard Lu Ningwan praise her, she got even happier right away. “We’ll steam the little chicken later too, and we’ll all eat it together.”
“Sure.” Lu Ningwan wasn’t particularly interested in that ugly little chicken, but who could resist something her little puppy had made?
Lin Yinan looked at Lu Ningwan, then at Shen Tian, and suddenly felt like she had missed something. It seemed like Little Lu sister and her sister had some secret they were keeping from her.
When Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan returned from the company, they saw the kitchen full of people and smiled as they asked, “Why is everyone in the kitchen today?”
“Little Lu said she wanted to learn to make custard buns, and Tiantian and Yinan came over to join in the fun too,” Wang Auntie said with a smile.
“Then Tiantian must be thrilled. Now there’s someone else at home who can make custard buns,” Shen Xian said with a smile.
Shen Tian nodded. “Exactly. Little Lu sister definitely learned it for me.”
Lu Ningwan smiled at Shen Tian. Her little puppy sure knew how to take credit.
At dinner that evening, the custard buns—including the ugly little chicken Shen Tian had made—were all placed on a plate. Shen Tian picked up the ugly little chicken and showed it off to everyone. “Look, how’s my little chicken?”
“Not great,” Lin Yinan said first with her opinion.
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan looked at their child and shook their heads with smiles. She was still such a big kid who hadn’t grown up. They had worried about puppy love before, but seeing her like this, they even started to worry for her. When would she ever fall in love?
“It’s perfect, since there’s none for you anyway. Little Lu sister and I will split it.” Shen Tian smiled and divided the ugly little chicken in half from the middle. “Little Lu sister, let’s eat it, just the two of us.”
“Sure.” Lu Ningwan looked at Shen Tian and picked up half of the ugly little chicken.
Lin Yinan pouted. Her sister really was childish. She was so old and still loved playing with dough, nothing like how mature and steady Lin Yinan herself was.
As Lin Qinghan ate her meal, she observed the interactions between Lu Ningwan and her child. She always felt that the two little ones had such a strong vibe together, and that clingy way they acted was even sweeter than actual couples in love. If it turned out that way, it wouldn’t be bad at all. The three little ones could still all stay at home just like now.
On weekend evenings, Shen Tian and Lu Ningwan usually painted together. Shen Xian had hired a teacher to instruct them both. Although Lu Ningwan and Shen Tian had no plans to apply to art schools, learning this could still cultivate their spirits. Besides, the two little ones enjoyed it, and Shen Xian always focused her children’s development on their interests. Since they wanted to learn, she supported it fully.
Once Shen Tian finished her own painting, she got a bit restless. She moved her stool over to sit beside Lu Ningwan. Seeing that Lu Ningwan was still painting, she didn’t disturb her and just sat there obediently, keeping her company.
Lu Ningwan saw how well-behaved her little puppy was and couldn’t resist reaching out to pinch Shen Tian’s cheek, accidentally smearing some paint from her hand onto Shen Tian’s face.
“Tiantian, go wash your face quick. I forgot I had paint on my hands,” Lu Ningwan urged Shen Tian to go wash up.
Shen Tian obediently went to the bathroom to wash off the two streaks of paint from her cheek, then sat back down beside Lu Ningwan. She leaned her face forward a bit. “Little Lu sister, is that it? Shouldn’t you give me some kind of consolation prize?”
Lu Ningwan asked with a helpless laugh, “What kind of consolation prize do you want?”
Shen Tian perked up at the opening and immediately leaned her face closer. She poked her own cheek and looked at Lu Ningwan with bright, smiling eyes.
Lu Ningwan’s ears turned a bit red at her little puppy’s sudden move. Her little puppy was so greedy, still thinking of taking advantage of her at a time like this.
But liking her kisses was a good sign, at least. Lu Ningwan shot her little puppy a playful glare and planted a kiss on her cheek.
Shen Tian immediately beamed with joy and rubbed against Lu Ningwan coquettishly.
Once they had both tidied up and lay down in bed, Shen Tian seemed to remember something. She picked up her phone and showed it to Lu Ningwan. “Little Lu sister, look at this.”
What Lu Ningwan saw was a photo—or more accurately, a meme. The character in the meme was her little puppy when she was little.
In the photo, Shen Tian’s face was covered in kiss marks, her little face full of lipstick prints. There was a line of text above the image: “I’ve come back from fooling around.”
“My face was all from mommy’s kisses. I was little back then, and mommy tricked me by saying ‘fooling around’ meant ‘cute.’ I believed her and thought she was praising how cute I was. Turns out mommy was just teasing me and turned my photo into a meme,” Shen Tian explained with a laugh.
The recent kisses reminded her of a childhood memory. She had been little at the time, but she still remembered some things. Originally, mommy hadn’t been very nice to her and mother. Whenever mommy came home, she would have big fights with mother and ask mother for money. Little as she was, she could only hide in a corner and cry.
Shen Tian remembered it clearly. Later, one time mommy picked her up from the kindergarten gate. Not only did she give her back ten yuan, but she also took her to buy treats. After that, mommy got better and better to her. She still remembered how mommy made the classmate who bullied her apologize, bought her little crescent rolls to eat, took her to the company, let her sit in mommy’s boss chair, and called her Little CEO Shen. All the memories after that were of mommy trying every way to dote on her. Shen Tian was so happy that mommy had changed for the better. From when she was three and a half onward, every day was full of joy.
Lu Ningwan looked at the image and felt a slight sourness in her heart. But when she thought about it being mommy who had kissed her little puppy, she couldn’t really feel jealous. She figured she should make some arrangements of her own in the future. These were old memes now, so it was about time to update them.
