That Man Is a Little Wild - Chapter 20
The room was still humming with the echoes of what had just happened.
Outside the door, silence pressed in, but inside, Li Cang could barely steady his breathing.
Chi Ye leaned in close, his breath warm against Li Cang’s ear. “You make such a scene,” he murmured, voice low and rough. “Aren’t you afraid your friend will hear?”
Li Cang pressed his face against Chi Ye’s neck, shivering at the heat and scent of him. His voice trembled between exhaustion and pleasure. “Shut up…”
Chi Ye laughed softly, a sound that rumbled in his chest. He lifted Li Cang slightly, tightening his hold as if to claim him all over again. The world outside the room faded until there was nothing but their uneven breathing and the rhythm of two heartbeats trying to find calm.
When it was over, Li Cang felt as though he’d melted entirely, his body too light to carry its own weight. Chi Ye helped him to the bed, wrapping a robe around his shoulders before turning to leave.
“Wait,” Li Cang said hoarsely, noticing that he was still bare-chested.
Chi Ye turned back with a teasing grin. “What, I can’t be comfortable in your home?”
“Put something on,” Li Cang muttered, his voice half gone.
Chi Ye chuckled but didn’t argue. He slipped into his clothes, then came back to lift Li Cang into his arms. His movements had lost their earlier urgency now they were slow, almost gentle.
In the living room, Fan Yuanju pretended to be absorbed in his phone, earbuds in, though his expression was suspiciously knowing.
Li Cang shot him a warning look as Chi Ye carried him past.
Fan Yuanju coughed lightly, mumbling something about having left his air conditioner on, and escaped the apartment.
In the quiet that followed, the sound of running water filled the air. Chi Ye washed him with careful patience, his hands moving as if memorizing every inch of him again.
“Don’t,” Li Cang said weakly, swatting his hand away when it lingered too long.
Chi Ye only smiled, brushing his thumb over Li Cang’s shoulder before pressing a kiss there.
Their movements slowed, the water running over them like rain. For a long moment, neither spoke.
When they finally returned to the bedroom, Li Cang was already half-asleep. He curled up on his side, the same way he always did, guarded, small, as if even in dreams he expected someone to leave.
Chi Ye lay down beside him and drew him close. In the dim light, he watched his face, the lashes that trembled even in sleep. Then, unable to resist, he bent down and kissed him lightly on the lips.
The faintest smile crossed his face. The more he looked, the deeper he fell.
