That Man Is a Little Wild - Chapter 23
When Li Cang was expressionless, he looked every bit the noble young master poised, distant, and untouchable. Yet when he smiled, he suddenly seemed boyish and disarmingly charming, the kind of warmth that made people want to draw closer.
Chi Ye pulled him up from his seat, leading him toward the corridor.
“Where are we going?” Li Cang set his glass aside, amusement flickering in his eyes as he followed.
Chi Ye didn’t answer. He dragged him into the dim hallway and pushed open the door to a quiet, tiled room at the end.
“Chi Ye, what are you?” Li Cang’s question was swallowed when Chi Ye suddenly kissed him.
The kiss was fierce, almost reckless, filled with heat and impatience. It left Li Cang breathless, pinned against the cold wall, caught between resistance and the fire that rose inside him.
“You’ve lost your mind,” Li Cang managed to say, his voice trembling with something that wasn’t quite anger.
Chi Ye’s hand brushed against his face, his tone low. “You shouldn’t smile like that in front of others.”
Li Cang’s breath hitched. “Like what?”
“Like you’re asking to be devoured.”
Their gazes locked. Between them was the sound of their uneven breathing, the faint music from outside seeping through the walls, and the silent tension that refused to break.
Li Cang’s fingers curled against Chi Ye’s chest, but he didn’t push him away again. There was a long, charged silence before Chi Ye leaned closer, his voice rough with warning and desire.
“Don’t tempt me like that again,” he murmured. “Next time, I might not stop.”
Li Cang’s eyes darkened, his lips curving slightly. “And if I’m not afraid of breaking?”
Chi Ye’s jaw tightened. He stared at Li Cang for a long moment before turning away with a quiet laugh that sounded half like surrender, half like promise.
