That Man Is a Little Wild - Chapter 25
That night, Li Cang stayed over at Chi Ye’s place.
Before heading home, Chi Ye stopped by a boutique and bought him more than twenty sets of clothes, asking for them to be washed and delivered by morning. After leaving his address, he took Li Cang to an elegant restaurant for dinner.
Li Cang seemed particular on the surface, but he wasn’t difficult to please. He had his favorite restaurants and signature dishes. As long as Chi Ye took him to those and ordered the right things, he was content.
Later, before bed, Li Cang spread a blanket on the floor to do his nightly stretches, quiet, disciplined motions that drew long, graceful lines from his shoulders down to his waist. Chi Ye watched him for a while before stepping closer and wrapping an arm around him.
“Need some help?” he asked with a teasing smile.
Li Cang gave him a skeptical look. “Help me how?”
The question hung in the air. Moments later, their laughter was sharp, breathless, and muffled. Filled the room. When it was over, Li Cang lay limp against the floor, his breathing shallow, the flush on his skin deepening.
He mumbled a complaint about work the next morning. Chi Ye only chuckled, saying he’d drive him himself.
By the time Chi Ye carried him into the shower, Li Cang could barely keep his eyes open. His body trembled faintly as warm water ran over him.
“Chi Ye,” he murmured, his voice thin and drowsy.
“What is it? Still want more?” Chi Ye’s tone was teasing again, though gentler now.
Li Cang frowned weakly, muttering something half-coherent that sounded like no. Chi Ye laughed softly, pressing a hand to his shoulder. “Quiet now. Let me finish. Then you can sleep.”
When he was done washing him, Chi Ye wrapped him in a towel and carried him to bed, tucking the blanket around him before taking a quick shower himself.
When he came back, Li Cang was already asleep, breathing softly, curled up like a small animal.
Chi Ye reached out, pinched his nose lightly, and smiled when Li Cang frowned and rolled over in protest. He slipped into bed beside him and pulled him close, closing his eyes at last.
He wasn’t sure why he liked this man so much maybe it was the contradiction in him. Angry one moment, icy the next, but when his guard fell, he was utterly defenseless.
At dawn, Chi Ye went out for a run, returning with breakfast. Li Cang was still asleep, tangled in the sheets. Chi Ye didn’t wake him. Instead, he messaged Xu Siran to take a day off on Li Cang’s behalf.
By the time the clock neared ten-thirty, Li Cang suddenly sat upright in bed, eyes wide.
“Damn it! That bastard Xu Siran didn’t even call to wake me up?!”
He stumbled out of bed, legs weak, then froze when he noticed the unfamiliar color of the floor. It took him a second to remember this wasn’t his home.
And when he glanced down, seeing the faint traces of what last night had been, he could only curse again under his breath.
“Damn it.”
