That Man Is a Little Wild - Chapter 6
The air in the car was stifling.
Li Cang frowned, trying to stay composed. “Turn on the air conditioner,” he said.
Chi Ye went to do as he was told. The cool breeze soon filled the space, easing some of Li Cang’s discomfort. He was used to comfort the kind of person who demanded perfection wherever he went.
When Chi Ye returned, he sat close again, pulling Li Cang into his arms. “What’s your name?” he asked quietly.
Li Cang, his breathing uneven, turned the question around. “What’s yours?”
“Chi Ye,” came the low reply against his ear warm enough to make his skin tingle.
Li Cang brushed his ear irritably, trying to hide his reaction. “If you’re done, I’m going home.”
He clearly didn’t intend to share anything more about himself, much less stay in touch.
Chi Ye understood. He leaned closer, his tone calm but certain. “Fine,” he murmured. “Then just stay a while longer.”
Li Cang didn’t answer. His silence said everything.
When it was over, he rested lazily against the back seat, exhaustion softening his usual sharpness. His half-lidded eyes gleamed faintly under the car’s dim light eyes that hinted at stories untold.
There was something about him refined, detached, and unreadable. No one could tell what he was really thinking. That air of mystery made him all the more captivating.
