- Chapter 6 - The Iconic Moment with Three People
“Wait, hold on. Why is Meng Xue at Tang Jing’s house?”
Someone in the livestream finally noticed something unusual.
By now, the staff had already finished their breakfast, so Tang Jing didn’t prepare any for them. As she ate, she casually asked, “When did you wake up?”
“Not long ago,” Meng Xue replied.
“How did you sleep?”
Meng Xue smiled and nodded. “The bed was really soft. I slept very well.”
“So that means Meng Xue is staying at Tang Jing’s house?”
“Am I the only one with a dirty mind, or does that sound a little suspicious?”
“So Tang Jing ordered Meng Xue to cook breakfast for her?”
“That’s so gross, if it’s true.”
Meng Xue looked at Tang Jing expectantly and asked, “Miss Tang, how’s the sandwich?”
Tang Jing had already eaten most of it. She paused when she heard the question, then nodded. “It’s not bad.”
A smile appeared on Meng Xue’s face. “The braised chicken you made last night was also amazing. I’m not great at cooking, so I can only make something simple like this.”
Tang Jing took a sip of freshly made soy milk. “No need to put yourself down. Your breakfast is delicious.”
“Whoever said Tang Jing forced her to cook, come out and apologize.”
“I can’t believe she can cook. I want to try her food so badly.”
“You’re dreaming, buddy.”
Morning sunlight poured into the living room through the windows. The two beautiful women sat facing each other at the table. One was gentle, the other cool and elegant. When their eyes occasionally met, the atmosphere was striking.
“This scene is absolutely beautiful.”
“I’m obsessed. I’m shipping them so hard. I’ll ship anything if it feeds my soul.”
“Don’t they look perfect together?”
“Soft and cold, a perfect match. I already have a 10,000-word fanfiction in my head.”
“Meng Xue is so much better than Sun Sijia. There’s no comparison.”
“Sun Sijia would never accept that. She’s been clinging to Tang Jing for years and milking every bit of it.”
After breakfast, it was time to pack their luggage.
Most of their personal items had already been gathered in bags, and now it was time to put everything into suitcases.
The cameraman assigned to Meng Xue arrived.
Two cameramen went upstairs. One entered Tang Jing’s room, and the other entered Meng Xue’s, each taking position on either side.
Viewers quickly realized there was only a single wall separating their rooms, and their imaginations ran wild.
“Miss, please begin,” one of the staff members said once the camera was set up.
Tang Jing and Meng Xue started packing at the same time.
As the livestream continued, viewers began to laugh.
“You all have to check out Tang Jing’s livestream,” said someone from Meng Xue’s stream.
“Tang Tang, you should see how organized Meng Xue is packing. It’s incredible,” someone commented from Tang Jing’s fan group.
Those watching both streams came to a unanimous conclusion: the two of them complemented each other perfectly.
Over in Meng Xue’s room, viewers felt their obsessive-compulsive tendencies being soothed. She had neatly packed all her items into storage bags, each one carefully labeled.
One bag was marked for today’s outfit, another for tomorrow’s, and so on. It was tidy, efficient, and incredibly satisfying to watch.
Meanwhile, over in Tang Jing’s room, she had simply folded her clothes once and tossed them into the suitcase. Visually, it was hard to tell the difference between her method and just stuffing them in at random.
“I can’t believe someone who’s always so serious could be this messy in private.”
“Tang Tang, maybe you should ask Meng Xue to help you. I can’t bear to watch this anymore.”
“Don’t ask her. If you do, the haters will definitely start making a fuss again.”
Knock knock.
There was a soft knock at the door. As she continued folding clothes, Tang Jing said, “Come in.”
It could only be Meng Xue.
“Miss Tang, do you need any help?” Meng Xue pushed open the door and walked in. As soon as she looked down, she saw the chaotic mess inside Tang Jing’s suitcase. All the clothes, tops, and pants were crumpled together in one big pile.
“Meng Xue looks stunned.”
“No need,” Tang Jing said as she placed the last piece of clothing into her suitcase. She felt it was packed well enough.
Watching Tang Jing’s serious expression, Meng Xue couldn’t help but laugh. Her eyes curved sweetly, and her smile sparkled like starlight, bright and charming.
Tang Jing was just about to check if she had forgotten anything when she caught sight of Meng Xue’s smile. Her hand paused. “What is it?”
Meng Xue shook her head, still smiling. The more she got to know Tang Jing, the more she discovered how many unexpectedly endearing traits she had.
She did not try to correct Tang Jing’s chaotic packing style either. Everyone has their own habits.
Once both of them finished packing, they officially set off.
Tang Jing wheeled her suitcase out of the room just in time to see Meng Xue coming out with hers.
Meng Xue’s suitcase was quite small. Compared to Tang Jing’s oversized one, it looked like it was packed for a weekend trip instead of two months.
“Did you not bring everything back?” Tang Jing asked.
Bringing so little for a two-month stay seemed impractical.
“This is enough,” Meng Xue replied with a gentle smile.
Back when she was a trainee abroad, she had always packed light. While others brought a ton of luggage, she managed with just one suitcase. It made things easier.
Tang Jing did not say anything else and carried her suitcase downstairs.
As soon as she turned around, Meng Xue followed behind with two suitcases. One of them belonged to Tang Jing.
Tang Jing stepped forward and took it from her. “Thank you.”
They got into the car where a female host was already waiting. When she saw them, she greeted warmly, “Hello, Miss Tang. Hello, Miss Meng.”
“Hello,” Tang Jing responded politely, though her tone was a bit cool.
The host was not offended. Tang Jing was known for being reserved, even with those she knew well.
Meng Xue smiled as she stepped forward and shook the host’s hand. “Nice to meet you.” Her manner was modest and polite, shaped by years of professional training overseas.
The two sat side by side as the host began asking a few introductory questions.
Other guest groups were also being guided through similar segments.
The destination required a two-hour flight, followed by an hour-long drive in the show’s production van.
When they boarded the van at the airport, someone was already inside. It was none other than Sun Sijia.
Viewers watching the livestream sensed the atmosphere would turn tense.
Sun Sijia had not expected the first person to arrive would be Tang Jing. Because of the cameras, she acted even more enthusiastic than usual. “Tang jie,” she called out sweetly.
But the moment she saw who was walking behind Tang Jing, her smile froze. “Senior?”
Why was her senior arriving with Tang Jing?
Did they just happen to meet along the way?
Or had they planned to come together?
Now that her senior was signed under Ying Tianhe’s management as well, could it be that their agent had arranged for them to travel together so Tang Jing could guide her?
If Tang Jing had been paired with another new artist, Sun Sijia might have panicked. She knew better than anyone how valuable Tang Jing’s resources were. If Tang Jing was expected to help the newcomer stand out during the show, it would mean fewer opportunities for her.
But if the newcomer was her beloved senior, it felt different.
In that case, she actually felt happy for her senior.
After all, Tang Jing had plenty of resources. If she chose to support her senior, it would not be a waste.
“Hi, Sijia,” Meng Xue said with a warm smile as she walked over.
According to the seating arrangement, their seats were in the same row. Tang Jing looked briefly at Sun Sijia, pressed her lips together, and chose the window seat. Sun Sijia took the opposite window seat, while Meng Xue sat in the middle.
At that moment, Meng Xue was chatting softly with Sun Sijia, while the latter felt relieved and secretly pleased.
If the agency had really arranged for Tang Jing to support her senior during the show, then Tang Jing would no longer have time or reason to approach her. That actually solved a big problem.
Off camera, she could still play cute or sulk, then coax Tang Jing afterward. But during the show, everything was being recorded. If the audience noticed anything unpleasant, it could quickly turn into criticism.
And just recently, she had turned down Tang Jing’s confession. She definitely did not want another round of negative publicity.
What she did not know was that the viewers in the livestream were also quietly relieved.
They did not want to see Sun Sijia getting close to Tang Jing either. Her manipulative nature had long worn thin, and she was becoming more and more disliked.
