The Affairs of the Martial World - Vol 2: Chapter 12
Yin Chang stopped laughing and looked at the newcomer. The sword in his hand also seemed to be intimidated by the newcomer, trembling slightly.
The black-clad man said coldly, “I’m afraid it’s not as good as you think. I originally planned to kill you one by one, but unexpectedly, you fought among yourselves, killing each other, saving me a lot of effort.”
Yin Chang asked, “Who are you?” As soon as the words were spoken, he suddenly realized and said, “You are the one who ambushed us in the dark and punctured our water bags.”
Taking a closer look at this person, in his thirties, with a high nose and deep-set eyes, slightly curly hair, definitely not a native of the Central Plains, speaking with a foreign accent.
The black-clad man said coldly, “Yes, it was me. You are looking for the treasure, right? That place is sacred and must not be disturbed by anyone.”
Yin Chang asked, “Sacred place? What sacred place? Who are you?”
The black-clad man snorted coldly, drew his sword, and said, “Do you know that it doesn’t make a difference anymore? Stop wasting your breath……”
After he finished speaking, with a strange starting posture, his sword was displayed, charging towards Yin Chang. Yin Chang raised his sword to block, and the two swords clashed, making a light clang sound. Yin Chang felt a cold internal force attached to the opponent’s sword. His arm trembled, and the sword in his hand was already swept away by the opponent. The black-clad man’s sword did not stop for a moment, and the sword tip charged towards Yin Chang’s throat.
Beside them, Yin Hui quickly drew his sword to help, charging at the vital point of the black-clad man. The black-clad man had to parry with his sword to save himself, allowing Yin Chang to escape the fierce and ruthless sword moves. This was originally a clever strategy to divert attention, but the black-clad man simply waved his scabbard with his left hand to block Yin Hui’s sword while his right-hand sword continued to attack Yin Chang unhindered.
Seeing that Yin Chang could no longer resist the sword and was about to be killed on the spot, an unexpected person intervened, swiftly making a move as if a hand had reached out from the underworld, striking the fatal acupoint on the waist of the black-clad man with a single move.
The life gate point belonged to the Du Meridian’s vital point. Once it was struck, the whole body went numb, and the limbs were unable to move.
Although the sword of the black-clad man was only an inch away from Yin Chang’s throat, the sword could no longer be delivered.
The black-clad man turned his head to look at the person attacking him and immediately felt a chill run through his body, knowing that he had been tricked.
The person who made the first move was none other than Zhu Que, who was the first to be killed that night.
Since Zhu Que didn’t die, the others naturally pretended to be dead as well. The Mu brothers, Fuying, Yin Nian, and Shui Mingyue, stood up from the ground, brushing off the sand from their clothes.
Fuying said to Zhu Que, “The timing of your shot is crucial. If you delay a moment longer, this big monk will be on his way to nirvana.”
Fuying turned to the black-clad man and said, “Speak up, why are you so ruthless, wanting to kill all of us.”
The black-clad man spat a mouthful of phlegm disdainfully, not responding to Fuying’s words. His expression was defiant; even though he was in the other party’s hands, he obviously had a stubborn and unyielding temperament.
Fuying was furious and immediately wanted to teach this person a lesson but was stopped by Zhu Que.
Zhu Que spoke gently to the black-clad man, “You said the treasure we are looking for is your sacred place. Can you tell us, if we have offended, let us know what fatal mistake we have made?”
The black-clad man remained silent, leaving Zhu Que at a loss. Zhu Que sighed, then reached out to press the black-clad man’s acupoint, causing him to lie flat on the sandy ground.
Fuying said, “Although we have captured him, he refuses to say anything. I doubt he will lead us to find the water source.”
Zhu Que looked up at the starry sky, pondered for a moment, and said, “With this person’s martial arts skills, he is definitely not an unknown figure among his companions. Since we have captured him, I believe it won’t be long before someone comes to rescue him.”
Fuying asked, “How can you be sure he is not alone?”
Zhu Que said, “A few days ago, the people of Five Tiger Gang were buried ahead of us, and the footprints they deliberately left behind indicate that there is more than one of them.”
Fuying said, “Now that we have one more person, it will be even more troublesome to take him with us on the road, won’t it?”
Zhu Que said, “Let’s not go anywhere. Let’s just wait here. I think they will come looking for us soon.”
