The Banished Villainous Noble Son Who Was Used as a Stepping Stone in the Original Work Awakens to Combat and Destroys the Laws of the World - Episode 19: Future Plans
Episode 19: Future Plans
“Um, before that. With your promotion, we’ll conduct a reappraisal of your status… It’s the rule.”
“Ah, understood.”
It’s mandatory to have your status reappraised when ranking up — that was something we were told during training.
I’d forgotten, but I had been meaning to check it anyway.
──I hold my hand over the crystal.

(…I’ve properly acquired it.)
“Constant Activity: Lv.1.” Just seeing it properly listed here, visibly acquired like this, made a quiet joy well up in me.
“Eh, no way…!”
The receptionist, upon seeing the results of the status appraisal, widened her eyes. Then she turned to me with a face that seemed to be silently demanding an explanation.
In response, I answered calmly, without being particularly fazed.
“It’s the result of steady accumulation.”
There’s no lie in my words. It’s simply the truth.
“B-but… to this extent, in such a short period of time…!”
The receptionist’s agitation was clear on her face.
To have resistance-type skills developed this far is usually unthinkable. Normally, it would take months of repeated actual combat to raise these kinds of skills.
…Well, that’s “normally,” though.
That’s exactly why I wanted to prioritize acquiring the “Constant Activity” skill above all else.
“…Alphonse-san, you’re not overexerting yourself, are you?”
“I’m fine.”
There’s no particular reason to explain in more detail. Still, the receptionist seemed about to say something. But then her gaze dropped slightly.
“…I see. Then, I’m glad to hear that.”
Just a brief silence. Then she gave a small shake of her head and smiled.
“Well then, the status confirmation is complete. Now, onto the requests… right?”
“Yes, please.”
At that moment, I sensed her gaze waver just slightly again. But I had no intention of bringing it up.
“Well then… here is the list of E rank requests.”
――The receptionist handed me the list of requests available for E rank adventurers.
Compared to F rank, the difficulty had clearly increased. There were requests like “carriage escort” and “on-site investigation,” which weren’t found among F rank jobs.
As I looked over the list, my thoughts deepened.
(…Not among these, huh.)
My next goal is to level up the “Constant Activity” skill. Now that I’ve acquired it—I can feel it clearly.
With that in mind, I want to raise its skill level even more. There are plenty of places I can’t go and monsters I can’t fight unless I strengthen this skill.
However, the condition to raise “Constant Activity” is to repeatedly cause the fatigue gauge to sharply rise and fall within a certain time frame… To reach Lv.2 and beyond, the number of those cycles increases.
Then maybe if I bring a lot of fatigue recovery potions… but, the “Addiction” status ailment stands in the way.
The downside of the “Addiction” status includes “drastic reduction in the effectiveness of potions”—and fatigue recovery potions are no exception.
So even if I continuously drink fatigue recovery potions, the fatigue gauge only shifts a tiny bit. Like this, I can’t meet the conditions to level up “Constant Activity.”
――Which means, a targeted solution would be the “Indomitable” skill.
“Indomitable” is a skill that grants resistance to mental interference.
It gives resistance not only to “Addiction,” but also to “Charm,” “Panic,” “Confusion,” and similar effects.
If I could raise this skill to, say, Lv.5, I could suppress the negative effects of the “Addiction” status so much it would be almost the same as nullifying it.
If I could acquire this “Indomitable” skill, the training efficiency for “Constant Activity” would skyrocket.
However, the issue lies in how to obtain it. Based on game knowledge, “Indomitable” isn’t something you get from ordinary training.
You need an item centered around a material called “Crystal of Murky Will.”
The monster that drops the “Crystal of Murky Will”… is the “Somnid Beast.” In the game, I remember it appearing in high-difficulty fields.
(If only there were a request related to that monster… but I guess E rank isn’t enough for that.)
At the very least, there’s nothing like that on the list I have now. As expected, it’s not something available at this rank.
(Which means… in any case, I’ll need to prepare.)
Even without taking a request, I could go hunt on my own responsibility. But if I’m going to hunt, I’ll need all sorts of preparation.
When I went to the Miasma Plain, I already knew in advance that the monsters there only used “physical attacks” and “poison”. So “Physical Resistance” and “Poison Resistance” were enough.
But when it comes to the “Somnid Beast,” I’ll need a wide variety of skills.
(This too… if I think of it as a “battle,” it’s kind of fun.)
There’s no need to rush. My preparations are steadily coming along. For now, I’ll just keep building up step by step.
Combat in this world is far deeper than one can imagine. So――I’ll make it to the very depths.
