The Beautiful Older Sister I Picked Up Is Good at Flirting - Chapter 34
Chapter 34
The next morning, Fanzhen entered the master bedroom to prepare the toiletries. Fu Siyi was already up and getting dressed, while Ying Gu was bending over to tidy the bed. She turned around and saw Fu Siyi struggling with her buttons and chuckled:
“Miss, have you gained weight recently?”
Fu Siyi lowered her hands, a smile brushing her lips. “Yes, I’ve really put on some weight. I’ve been happy lately, eating more, and even my insomnia is gone. How could I not gain weight?”
Ying Gu grinned and stepped closer, pinching Fu Siyi’s arm. “You really have… there’s some flesh now.”
She opened the coat and helped Fu Siyi into it. “Our young lady has always been beautiful, just too thin. Now with a bit more weight, you look even prettier. Your mood is better, your complexion is glowing—you’re getting more and more gorgeous…”
Ying Gu had the typical “my child is the best in the world” attitude. Fu Siyi was a bit embarrassed by her praise. “Actually, this is all thanks to Fanzhen…”
Just as Fu Siyi finished fastening the last button and looked up, she caught Ying Gu giving her a sly, teasing look. She quickly lowered her head, pretending to straighten her clothes.
Ying Gu calmly smiled and smoothly took over the conversation, “Actually, this is all Fanzhen’s doing…”
Fanzhen happened to come out of the bathroom just then. She vaguely heard her name and responded with confusion, “Po-po (granny), did you call me?”
Ying Gu leaned in with a wide grin, her eyebrows nearly dancing with amusement. “The young lady said… you’ve fattened her up.”
Fanzhen’s face instantly flushed, and she gave Fu Siyi a warning look for talking nonsense. Fu Siyi shook her head in mock innocence, silently insisting she hadn’t said a word.
Their intimate and playful exchange didn’t escape Ying Gu’s eyes. She covered her mouth, quietly giggling, satisfied with the sweet, romantic scene. She tactfully exited the room. “I’ll go check if breakfast is ready.”
Once Ying Gu was gone, Fanzhen turned to Fu Siyi, noticing the pink tint still lingering on her cheeks. She frowned playfully, “Why are you blushing?”
“I don’t know. I can’t control it.” Fu Siyi’s smile was soft and happy, her eyes sparkling like stars.
Fanzhen’s heart raced under her direct gaze. “Every time you look at me like that, aren’t you afraid Po-po will figure out what’s going on between us?”
“Things like this… aren’t something you can just control…”
Suddenly, Fu Siyi leaned in close. Fanzhen, slow to react, turned her head just as Fu Siyi’s cool lips brushed lightly under her chin.
That soft, delicate touch made Fanzhen’s heart pound in her ears. Her cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
Noticing the blush, Fu Siyi smirked. “You’re blushing too, jie-jie (big sister)…”
The little “beast” lowered her voice playfully. “See? I told you… it’s not something you can control, jie-jie…”
That sweet, sticky “jie-jie” nearly made Fanzhen’s knees buckle. She turned away to avoid her gaze, trying to preserve her dignity. “Don’t look at me like that anymore…”
“But I’m just looking at my own wife… what’s wrong with that?” Fu Siyi clung to her, clearly not planning to let go. Fanzhen instinctively backed away, and the little beast gave her a pitiful look. “Jie-jie, when will you admit you’re my wife?”
Fanzhen: !!!
Wife?
This little beast worked fast—upgrading her from “girlfriend” to “wife” in just one night. Typical shameless behavior.
Fanzhen tried to correct her. “We agreed on a one-month trial period. I’m not your…”
Fu Siyi didn’t let her finish, sealing her lips with a kiss to shut her up.
It was soft, sweet, and fleeting.
Her peach blossom eyes locked onto Fanzhen’s with intensity, lips curved just right—utterly captivating.
“Yi-xiao-zai (little rascal), you…”
Another kiss landed before she could finish.
Fanzhen stepped back instinctively.
When she backed away, Fu Siyi advanced, moving faster, their bare legs brushing together, igniting a subtle, invisible spark.
Fanzhen’s ears turned red. The closeness made her nervous, and she swallowed hard.
Fu Siyi closed in again, lowering her head and kissing her once more.
Fanzhen’s heart pounded louder. She backed up until she hit the edge of the bed. Fu Siyi smoothly twisted and, using the momentum, pinned her down in an extremely suggestive position.
“Jie-jie…” Fu Siyi grabbed her soft hand and pinned it above her head, her lips capturing Fanzhen’s again, tasting her sweetness.
“Can we end the trial period early?”
Fanzhen was still relatively clear-headed. In the gap between kisses, she murmured, “No…”
Fu Siyi slowed, moving her lips to Fanzhen’s ear, her voice low and heavy: “Jie-jie…” she whispered, dragging the end of the word like a hook in her ear. “Say yes… please?”
Fanzhen’s head started spinning, her mind foggy like she was drunk.
Fu Siyi suddenly bit her earlobe, gently nipping it.
Fanzhen’s mind went blank.
“Jie-jie… please?”
In her daze, Fanzhen instinctively murmured, “Mhm…” Just as she realized and tried to take it back, something cold clasped around her wrist.
She lifted her wrist in shock and stared at it. Her pupils trembled. “Isn’t this… the bell you mentioned? I thought it was lost?”
Fu Siyi sat up, composed, and looked at her calmly. Seeing her shocked and flustered expression made her want to laugh. “I found it.”
Fanzhen’s eyes widened. “Where?”
Fu Siyi, ever the actress, feigned cluelessness with wide, innocent eyes. “In the closet…”
She casually added, “I was grabbing a dress and found it hooked on the hanger. Must’ve caught on when I changed clothes.”
Fanzhen sighed in relief, her suspended heart finally settling. She forced a smile. “Heh, good thing it’s found… better put it away next time.”
Just as she reached to take the bracelet off, Fu Siyi quickly grabbed her hand and gently pulled her into her arms.
“Jie-jie, do you think maybe Grandma helped us find the bell?”
Fanzhen blinked in confusion. “What?”
“You agreed to be my girlfriend, and the bell appeared,” Fu Siyi’s eyes sparkled as she leaned in. “Grandma must really like you. She can’t wait for you to be her granddaughter-in-law.”
Fanzhen: !!!
It’s you who can’t wait, okay!?
Fu Siyi held her gently, stroking her back. “Grandma had the best goldsmith in the country make that bell. It took me ages to find the master again. But he still remembered me…”
Fanzhen looked into her smiling eyes. “Why did you find him?”
“I wanted to learn from him. He said I had talent.” Fu Siyi fiddled with the bracelet, clearly fishing for praise.
Fanzhen froze. Her chest filled with warmth and ache. Her eyes welled up. “You… made this bracelet yourself?”
Fu Siyi nodded, holding her tighter, resting her chin on her head. “I made it into a bracelet for you. From now on, you’re my wife.”
This little rascal had been sick and still ran around secretly to make this bracelet. So stubborn…
Fanzhen lowered her gaze and noticed something etched inside the bracelet.
Looking closely, she saw it was a flower petal—exactly like the birthmark on her chest.
Above it were her name’s initials.
She gently traced the carving with her finger, her heart surging with emotion.
Since she was young, she knew Omegas in high society were just tools for marriage alliances. Like hothouse flowers, nurtured with the finest resources, only to be cut and placed on display.
She was never short of suitors. Every Alpha treated her like a beautiful ornament to enhance their image.
Only Fu Siyi had truly nurtured her with care. Only with her did Fanzhen feel truly “cherished.”
She wrapped her arms around Fu Siyi, snuggling into her. Her voice was nasal and soft: “Yi-xiao-zai… you really don’t mind that I’m just a Beta?”
Fu Siyi shook her head. Though she didn’t know why Fanzhen pretended to be a Beta, she didn’t care. No matter who Fanzhen was, she loved her and wanted a future with her.
Seeing her lashes damp, Fu Siyi’s heart ached. She leaned in and teased, “What’s the difference between a Beta and an Omega? Just that you can’t smell pheromones and are harder to impregnate. Jie-jie… doesn’t your country have a saying ‘zī zī bú juàn’—it means if it doesn’t work once, try twice. If twice doesn’t work, try more. Keep working hard, and we’ll have two babies.”
Fanzhen: ???
That idiom was definitely misused.
Afraid of being tricked further, she tried to pull away, but Fu Siyi held her tight. In the struggle, Fanzhen’s pinky caught on Fu Siyi’s collar.
She frowned. “It really is tight. Is it uncomfortable?”
Fu Siyi shook her head. “Just the collar.”
“I’ll return the clothes the mall sent last time. The sizes are still your old ones. I’ll have Uncle Zhong take them back this afternoon. We’ll buy new ones—especially underwear and pants.”
Fu Siyi smiled. “Tomorrow’s the weekend. Let’s go shopping—go on a date.”
Fanzhen adjusted her collar. “We?”
“Of course we—me and you. Who else would I mean? Hmm, wifey…”
Fu Siyi obediently let her fuss over her, eyes following her hands. “Where do you want to go?”
Fanzhen smiled warmly. “If I could go out, I’d have bought you clothes long ago. No need for you to worry about these small things.”
“Tsk.” Fu Siyi looked upset. “I’m going to talk to my mom today. No matter what, I’ll get your residency papers.”
Fanzhen grabbed her hand. “Don’t act rashly. Madam is very busy. Didn’t you already arrange to meet her assistant at the end of the month? I’m not in a hurry.”
Thinking of the meeting, Fu Siyi’s mood dipped. “I’ve been sick for days, and Mom still hasn’t come back…”
Fanzhen couldn’t bear to see her like that. She even lied. “We were so busy we forgot to notify Madam.”
Fu Siyi looked down, disheartened. “Don’t cover for her. I almost drowned—Po-po definitely told her. She just doesn’t care again…”
No matter how hard she hid it, Fanzhen still saw the red rims around her eyes. It softened her aloof demeanor and revealed a fragile side.
Fanzhen’s heart clenched painfully. She hugged Fu Siyi tightly and gently patted her back. “The election is near. She’s busy campaigning. Po-po couldn’t reach her. If she knew you were sick, she’d definitely come. Don’t overthink it. Let’s go eat—Miss Cen is probably starving.”
Fu Siyi didn’t really care whether her mother came or not. She was used to being ignored and had long learned to nurse her wounds alone.
But when Fanzhen comforted her like this, she truly felt loved.
She leaned into Fanzhen’s shoulder like a puppy. “Jie-jie… please pamper me more…”
If Fu Siyi had a tail, it would’ve been wagging pitifully.
Fanzhen almost laughed. She reached up to pinch her cheek. “Do you know our country has another idiom—‘dé cùn jìn chǐ’? (Give an inch, take a mile.)”
“I don’t know that one.” Fu Siyi stole a kiss on her neck and looked up with a grin. “But I know a phrase—‘tián bù zhī chǐ’ (shameless sweet-talker): it means someone who’s good-looking and sweet-talking is always right, no need for shame.”
Fanzhen: !!!
Alright then, you little beast—not only are you twisting idioms now, you’re even sneaking in self-praise. Truly… you’re playing this game like a master.
Fanzhen glared at her in mock irritation. Fu Siyi blinked at her innocently, her eyes shimmering with moisture. There was no sense of awkwardness at all—just cuteness that could melt someone.
All Fanzhen could do was sigh and cradle her forehead.
She honestly would have preferred it if this little beast could act a bit more arrogant and aloof toward her, like she did with everyone else.
Fanzhen let her cling and act spoiled until her arm started to go numb. She gently pushed her away:
“Alright, can we save the cuddles for tonight? Miss Cen is waiting for you to have breakfast.”
“Wait, I have something for you.”
Fu Siyi pulled back from her shoulder and walked toward the vanity. When she turned around, there was a white box in her hands.
Inside lay a brand-new phone.
Fu Siyi handed her the box. “I bought you a phone. If you need anything, just call me. It’ll be more convenient—no need to run around trying to catch the intercom line.”
Seeing Fanzhen hesitate, Fu Siyi added, “I’m going to the mall later to buy clothes. You can video call and help me pick stuff.”
Only then did Fanzhen take the phone. When she lit up the screen, the soft blue glow danced in her eyes like ripples on water.
It was clear—she really liked it.
Fu Siyi, seeing her delight, couldn’t help but beam. “There’s no passcode. Just open it.”
Fanzhen swiped through with her slender index finger and tried to hold back a laugh as she looked at the contact list.
It was completely empty—except for three contacts:
-
-
-
- Yi Xiao Zai (Little Fu Siyi)
-
-
-
-
-
- Yi Xiao Zai’s Assistant
-
-
-
-
-
- Yi Xiao Zai’s Office Landline
-
-
Fanzhen stared at the three names and couldn’t help chuckling:
“Why did you save your assistant’s number?”
Fu Siyi’s face was serious:
“In case one day you can’t reach me, you can call Assistant Jiang. She’ll definitely know where I am.”
“How would I not be able to reach you?” Fanzhen rested her chin in her hand and looked at her, eyes curved like crescent moons, gleaming with rare mischief:
“For example… under what circumstances would you go ‘missing’?”
Fu Siyi’s thick lashes fluttered downward with a hint of guilt, her ears turning red.
“Well… doing business sometimes involves socializing. Some partners like to go to certain kinds of places… If I get drunk, I might not answer the phone… but you can call Assistant Jiang…”
Her face was blushing now. She licked her lips nervously, then pressed them together and snuck a glance at Fanzhen’s mock-stern expression. She quickly leaned over and mumbled against her shoulder:
“I only go to those places for business. And when I’m drunk, I just fall asleep… I swear I’m very disciplined, jie-jie…”
Fanzhen kept her face stern:
“And those places are… what kind of places?”
“Just…” Fu Siyi dragged out the last syllable, carefully watching her expression and choosing her words. “Just… places where Omegas dance and drink with people…”
Fanzhen raised an eyebrow:
“Dance? You mean… the kind where they take off their clothes?”
Fu Siyi first nodded, then quickly tried to backpedal:
“I really… I’ve never watched! I always sit with my back to the stage!”
She added cautiously:
“Of course, those kinds of clients are rare. Most deals happen in the conference room.”
Fanzhen pressed her fingers against Fu Siyi’s forehead to push her away.
“So this is you giving me a heads-up in advance?”
Fu Siyi immediately wrapped herself back around her and hurried to show loyalty:
“Jie-jie is my wife. From now on, wherever I go, whoever I’m with, and when I’ll be home—I’ll tell my wife everything.”
“Jie-jie…” Fu Siyi’s pretty peach blossom eyes drooped slightly as she nestled into Fanzhen’s neck, whining:
“I’m being so obedient… can’t I go official early?”
Fanzhen: …
She knew it—this little beast definitely had a scheme waiting.
But once she acted spoiled like this, Fanzhen’s heart melted like butter. She reached out and stroked Fu Siyi’s cheek.
“Be good, little rascal. Just wait one more month, okay?”
“But… I’m already 24…” Fu Siyi tilted her head up, eyes glistening with just a touch of seduction.
“Song Xian has marked plenty of Omegas already… I haven’t even had one…”
Well, well—who knew this little beast could be so sly with her words?
Not only was she begging for benefits, she even managed to throw subtle shade at someone else, afraid Fanzhen might fall for Song Xian instead. A quiet jab at her “rich dating history.”
Fanzhen pushed her head away as it rubbed against her neck.
“You waited 24 years—what’s one more month?”
“I didn’t like anyone before, so of course I could wait.” Fu Siyi wrapped her arms around Fanzhen’s waist, her gaze intense.
“But now I have a wife… how am I supposed to endure this?”
“I mean it, jie-jie. I want you…” Fu Siyi slowly moved her right hand down, grasped Fanzhen’s hand, and placed it at the nape of her neck—right on her scent gland. Her eyes locked onto Fanzhen’s slightly panicked face, shimmering with a barely hidden desire.
“I want to be with you…”
“No!”
Fanzhen felt the unusual heat under her fingers and quickly broke free from her grip, cutting off the second half of her sentence.
This little beast had nothing but inappropriate thoughts in her head!
Fu Siyi calmly pulled her back into her arms, her tone increasingly innocent:
“Po-po (Granny Ying) said that once an Alpha has a girlfriend, she doesn’t need to take suppressant pills anymore. She can mark her girlfriend…”
“That’s still a no!”
Fanzhen’s nerves snapped. She shoved her away again and rushed out the door.
Fu Siyi watched her flee in panic, the corners of her lips lifting ever so slightly.
So cute.
Her jie-jie’s cuteness was completely different from those ditzy, naive types.
Hers was a mature, elegant kind of cuteness.
The way she was gentle toward her, the way she doted on her, and of course—those moments of endearing cluelessness… all of it was just—
Jie-jie was cute in every way.
Lingering on that thought, Fu Siyi bit her lip, a bit unnaturally.
Now then…
How could she make jie-jie drop her disguise soon?
