The Beautiful Older Sister I Picked Up Is Good at Flirting - Chapter 55
Chapter 55
Fu Siyi smiled at her. “Do you want me to give it to you now?”
The velvet box lay quietly in her palm, and the key’s outline was vaguely visible through the deep blue fabric.
Fan Zhen hesitated for a moment but didn’t reach out. She stared at Fu Siyi and said with a soft smile, “Give it to me on the day of the wedding.”
Fu Siyi took her hand and placed the small box into her palm. Her voice was low but firm. “Fan Zhen, you don’t have to answer right away. I can wait, but I won’t take it back.”
Fan Zhen held the box, her fingers tightening slightly around it.
“Take your time,” Fu Siyi said. “The key is yours. So is the person who gave it to you.”
Fan Zhen looked at her. Her heart trembled slightly, but her eyes were clear. She smiled and said, “Fu Siyi, I didn’t think you were someone who needed an answer so quickly.”
“I don’t,” Fu Siyi said. “But I also don’t want to hide it. You don’t have to answer right away, but I want you to know: I love you.”
Fan Zhen’s eyes welled up, and she couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Why do I feel like you’ve rehearsed this speech a hundred times?”
“Probably,” Fu Siyi said, “but you’ll never hear it again.”
The moment those words fell, Fu Siyi leaned in and kissed her.
Fan Zhen wanted to push her away, but Fu Siyi grabbed her wrist.
The taste of red wine was still on their lips, along with a faint scent of flowers.
It wasn’t like the surprise kiss in the garage, nor the cautious kiss that followed—it was the kind of kiss that didn’t need permission.
Fan Zhen only resisted for a moment before yielding.
She wasn’t sure what emotion drove her, but she followed Fu Siyi’s lead and kissed her back.
Until Fu Siyi suddenly let go of her hand and said with a smile, “Fan Zhen, if you don’t like it, you can just push me away.”
Fan Zhen asked back, “Then why didn’t you let go just now?”
“I was afraid I wouldn’t get to kiss you again.”
Fan Zhen rolled her eyes, “You’ve been really arrogant lately.”
Fu Siyi said, “That’s because you let me be.”
Just then, a horn sounded from the garden. They turned and looked out the window. It was a silver-gray sports car parked on the central lawn.
Fan Zhen saw the keys and remote on the dressing table. She picked them up and pressed the unlock button, and the lights on the car flashed.
Fu Siyi said, “Auntie gave it to me.”
Fan Zhen was surprised. “Is it your birthday?”
Fu Siyi nodded. “Today.”
Fan Zhen raised an eyebrow. “And you’re still bothering me on your birthday?”
Fu Siyi took a step forward and wrapped her arms around her from behind. “Because I want to be with you on my birthday.”
Fan Zhen couldn’t help but soften. “This is a really expensive car. It’s not like she just gave you something casual.”
Fu Siyi chuckled. “I wouldn’t say it’s that expensive. She gave me another one last year, but I gave it to my cousin. I didn’t like the color.”
Fan Zhen smiled and said, “You really grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth.”
“I did,” Fu Siyi said, “but only because I was lucky enough to meet Auntie.”
After Fu Siyi’s mother passed away and her father was imprisoned, she lived in the Fu residence, but no one really cared for her—until Fu Weirong brought her back from the boarding school and left her with Cen Wan.
Auntie had no children of her own and wasn’t related by bl00d, but she treated Fu Siyi like her own daughter.
Some said Cen Wan doted on her because she was childless, others said it was because she was using Fu Siyi as a pawn in a power game.
But only Fu Siyi knew—Auntie was her salvation in that dark childhood.
Cen Wan gave up her rights as the heiress of the Fu family and moved to the capital for a man.
She waited in the capital for twenty years, without a proper title, without a promise.
Even when she was asked about her relationship with Fu Weirong, she only ever smiled and said, “We’re just old friends.”
Even so, she stayed.
She did everything for the Fu family and was always clean, elegant, and graceful.
That day, she wore a lake-blue cheongsam, standing tall and beautiful under the garden lights. Her brows were gentle as she looked toward Fu Siyi and nodded approvingly.
Fan Zhen looked over and happened to catch Cen Wan’s gaze.
She wondered if Cen Wan had seen through her identity.
For a moment, she wanted to escape, but then remembered Fu Siyi was still behind her. She took a deep breath and said, “Do you want to take the car for a spin?”
“Sure.”
They went downstairs and into the garden.
The moment they got in the car, Fu Siyi leaned closer. Fan Zhen was still fastening her seatbelt when she felt her lips being kissed again.
She murmured, “Aren’t we going for a drive?”
“We are.” Fu Siyi said, “But I’ve been thinking about this for a long time.”
Fan Zhen pushed her away, flushed. “It’s your birthday today. Shouldn’t you act more like it?”
Fu Siyi said, “What does that have to do with kissing you?”
Fan Zhen said, “You—”
Fu Siyi raised her eyebrows. “What, you want to say I’m being shameless?”
Fan Zhen was about to respond, but a knock came on the car window. It was Ai Qing, who had just come back from the buffet and happened to see this whole scene.
Ai Qing stared at them, stunned. “I… I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
Fan Zhen practically wanted to bury herself in the seat.
She didn’t know how she got through the rest of the party, only that when it was finally over and they got into the car, she immediately slumped in the passenger seat.
Ai Qing said, “It’s fine, don’t be so nervous. I won’t tell anyone.”
Fan Zhen sighed.
Ai Qing leaned over with interest and whispered, “Did you really fall for her?”
Fan Zhen looked at her. “Do I look like I didn’t?”
Ai Qing laughed. “Then you’ve really been completely claimed by her.”
She added, “But you should probably prepare yourself mentally.”
Fan Zhen paused. “Why?”
Ai Qing said, “Do you know who she thinks you are?”
Fan Zhen fell silent.
Ai Qing sighed, “Siyi isn’t stupid. She may not have guessed everything, but at the very least, she knows—you’re not a Beta.”
Fan Zhen didn’t respond.
Ai Qing added, “Also, I think she’s known for a while… you’re Huo Fanzhen.”
