- Chapter 1 - Scumbag Alpha, Truly Scum
The rich orchid scent in the room was overwhelming, almost suffocating.
A dim floor lamp cast a soft halo of light. On a large round bed, a woman lay sleeping.
More precisely, she was an Omega in heat, barely clothed.
A pair of hands reached around her from behind.
Then, another woman, equally out of control, slithered up like a snake and wrapped herself around the Omega.
The Alpha, whose heat had been triggered, burned with unbearable desire. Her body was feverishly hot, and she yanked open the Omega’s collar.
It was hard to tell whether she was savoring an appetizer or toying with prey already caught in her trap. Her lips brushed softly against the Omega’s gland, now overflowing with orchid fragrance, but she never bit down.
Her breath scattered across the Omega’s neck. The Omega, flushed and teary-eyed, was clearly struggling to keep control.
Still, the Alpha only licked lightly, even teasing the sensitive skin with the tips of her canine teeth.
Just as the air in the room grew thicker with pheromones and the Alpha began to completely lose control—
The door, slightly ajar, burst open.
A flood of flashing lights and cameras rushed in. The Alpha, jolted out of her heat, blinked in confusion and collapsed.
The reporters who broke in didn’t care what was going on. They frantically snapped photo after photo.
In less than a minute, the Alpha lying on her back slowly lifted her head. The lust in her eyes had faded, replaced by confusion.
The Alpha on the bed had transmigrated into the story.
Ji Yanwan slammed her fist against the bed and angrily exited the novel browser on her phone.
Hearing the noise from the bunk above, her roommate teased, “What happened? Scammed again?”
Grinding her teeth, Ji Yanwan snapped, “I wasted five bucks and an entire night.”
Her roommate tried to comfort her. “What can you do? Your preferences are so weird. You’re like a masochist. Besides, sites probably won’t allow stuff like that to be published properly.”
Ji Yanwan said nothing and sat up, trying to calm her breathing.
She, Ji Yanwan, a reader with ten years of experience on Lujiang, still kept falling for the same trap—GL novels on Jinjiang.
This one had the innocent-sounding title “Scumbag Alpha, Truly Scum,” written by a small-time author. Despite the refreshing name, the content was the same old cliché.
It skimmed past how the original Alpha ruined everything, then dumped the whole mess onto the poor transmigrated Alpha.
There was not a single scene that showed what made the Alpha truly scummy. Like every other scumbag Alpha novel, it started with the same recycled setup.
Still holding onto hope, Ji Yanwan skimmed through the novel. In it, the so-called scumbag Alpha immediately inherited the mess left by the original Alpha and spent dozens, maybe hundreds, of chapters dodging a deadly Omega who wanted to tear her apart. After diligently acting like a loyal dog for the entire story, the “scumbag” eventually redeemed herself and won the girl.
Ji Yanwan was furious. Why was it always false advertising?
Labeling a character as a scumbag only to have her behave like a pathetic simp. If the Alpha was going to be reformed, then what was the point of reading it?
Ji Yanwan, who had a habit of buying full access before reading, had once again been scammed out of five bucks.
Fuming, she decided to use this very novel as inspiration for her dreams tonight. She would go into her dream and play the role of the true scumbag Alpha.
She shoved her phone under her pillow and climbed down from the bed to get a glass of water and cool off.
Grumbling as she descended the stairs, she muttered, “I clearly have a thesis to revise. Why am I wasting my time on garbage like this?”
She gestured mid-sentence and forgot she was on the stairs.
She slipped, fell backward, and tumbled down.
Her vision went black. But the expected pain never came.
She felt like she had been falling in the dark for a long time. The first sense to return was smell.
The thick, almost choking scent of orchids.
Then came sound and touch.
A woman’s labored breathing filled her ears. Her fingertips landed on something warm and soft.
When Ji Yanwan could finally see clearly, she was completely stunned.
She, the pitiful reader who had suffered countless times at the hands of scumbag Alphas, only to love them anyway, knew this kind of scene all too well.
A story that began with a bed scene was a textbook scumbag Alpha novel opening.
But when this happened to a college student chained to her thesis, there could only be one explanation.
She had transmigrated into the novel.
Because she should have been lying in bed reading this very story, not straddling a strange woman in the middle of a sexual encounter.
Her first thought was that she had entered a Jinjiang-style GL scumbag Alpha novel. After all, nine of her ten reading years were spent on yuri.
And judging by the setup in front of her, this was very likely the exact novel she had just been reading.
Just as Ji Yanwan was frozen in confusion, a ding echoed in her mind.
“Congratulations, Host. You have successfully entered the Dream-Fulfillment App. I am your assigned system.”
Ji Yanwan: What?
System: “Dear host, you are now in an immersive roleplaying game. Your assigned storyline is ‘Scumbag Alpha, Truly Scum.’ You must complete the tasks according to system instructions. Please follow the narrative strictly.”
Ji Yanwan: There’s no way I’m playing the simp. Screw off.
Meanwhile, the beauty beneath her noticed her hesitation. Her gaze darkened, and her hand began to feel around for something.
Alarm bells rang in Ji Yanwan’s mind. Was this woman about to stab her?
She quickly grabbed the woman’s hand.
Her grip was a little too strong, causing the beauty to let out a soft gasp.
Ji Yanwan glanced around. The room was dimly lit, saturated with orchid scent, but otherwise calm. The reporters hadn’t arrived yet.
She shifted the woman’s hand aside and rolled onto her back.
System: “Due to piracy, the story has been tampered with. Your mission is to correct the plot and return it to its original arc. As a reward, you will receive life points and one million currency units. The story will conclude based on your revised version.”
The system rambled on in her mind, but Ji Yanwan only caught two key points.
One, her life was now being restricted.
Two, there was one million on the line.
System: “That’s right. The prize pool you accumulate will be brought back with you to the real world. Please remain alert and be ready to receive tasks at any time.”
With that, the system went silent as if it had logged off.
Ji Yanwan scoffed. She was a university student who had downloaded anti-fraud apps.
There was no way she would believe such nonsense.
While Ji Yanwan was still frozen in shock, she didn’t notice the woman beside her slowly moving her hand.
Fu Suihe glanced at the clock on the wall. It was a quarter past nine.
There were only five minutes left until the reporters she had scheduled were supposed to break in.
Moments ago, Ji Yanwan had acted like a wild dog. Now, she was limp and weak, lying to the side.
If the reporters captured this pathetic scene, all the money she had spent would be wasted.
So Fu Suihe continued releasing her pheromones as she reached under the pillow for something she had hidden.
The wandering mind of the Alpha was suddenly shaken by the surge of pheromones.
Her natural instincts began to stir again, slowly but surely.
It was only then that Ji Yanwan realized she had not only transmigrated into the novel, but her biology had changed too.
She was now an Alpha, currently out of control.
Just as she turned to speak with the beauty about how to handle the situation, her face was suddenly drenched in a clear, scentless liquid.
What the hell? Was that pepper spray?
She hadn’t even done anything yet!
But her body quickly told her otherwise this wasn’t pepper spray.
If Fu Suihe’s pheromones earlier were a subtle lure, then this liquid was a direct provocation.
Ji Yanwan felt it for the first time, the uncontrollable burning that novels so often described.
Her body felt like it had been thrown into a raging furnace. Flames licked at her skin, and it felt as though all the moisture in her body was evaporating.
Surrounding her was an intense scent, alluring and thirst-quenching.
She lowered her head and gently licked the source of the scent. It was refreshing, but not enough.
She wanted more.
Her sharp canine tooth pierced the surface of the skin. A more intense wave of orchid fragrance burst forth, mingled with the faint taste of bl00d.
The beauty beneath her let out a soft, tearful sound. It was like a mix of grievance and temptation.
Just as Ji Yanwan was about to bite down for a second time, the door was kicked open.
The reporters, seemingly waiting for this moment, rushed in with cameras and flashes lighting up the entire room.
Ji Yanwan’s head throbbed with pain. Her body screamed to continue, but her mind screamed to stop.
Everywhere she looked, there were cameras and flashing lights. Reporters were shouting, the woman on the bed was crying softly, and more people were crowding into the room, whispering and gossiping.
Everything echoed in Ji Yanwan’s ears like it was being played through a loudspeaker.
A soft chime rang in her mind.
Mission One: Get Fu Suihe to kiss you voluntarily, then clarify your relationship to the reporters.
Life Points: Countdown at 1. Reward Pool: 0
Ji Yanwan’s head throbbed as she slowly lifted herself off the beauty and looked around coldly.
Her gaze was fierce and sharp, like a predator.
The lead reporter flinched. She knew that neither of the women on that bed was someone to provoke. But the temptation of profit pushed her forward.
“Miss Ji, is it true that you and Movie Queen Fu are in a romantic relationship?”
It was a ridiculous question, considering the two of them were lying disheveled on the same bed.
The woman who had been pinned beneath Ji Yanwan trembled as she sat up, as if it took all her remaining strength.
Her round, teary eyes looked up at Ji Yanwan, filled with innocence and vulnerability.
She seemed on the verge of tears as she answered softly, “Yes… it’s true.”
Her voice was gentle and weak, like a breeze brushing through tall grass. It sounded less like she was responding to reporters, and more like she was addressing their parents.
Ji Yanwan, who had no intention of completing the mission at first, suddenly felt a strange wave of emotion rise in her chest as she looked at her.
She had just been provoked with some kind of special formula, and yet she still looked so delicate and pitiful.
As the reporters began preparing their next question, the Alpha, seething with restrained aggression—turned her head slightly, curled her finger, and beckoned Fu Suihe closer.
Fu Suihe moved toward her, only to hear a cold chuckle.
“Kiss me.”
Fu Suihe hesitated, clearly reluctant, but with all the cameras flashing and reporters watching, she had no choice. She pouted, pretending to protest.
“There are so many people. I’m embarrassed.”
Still, she leaned forward and placed a quick kiss on Ji Yanwan’s cheek.
“Here,” Ji Yanwan said as she pointed to her lips.
Then she rubbed the lipstick smudged on her fingertip onto Fu Suihe’s lips, staining the already fragile-looking woman with a blatant mark of possession.
The reporters scrambled to take faster pictures.
As Ji Yanwan smeared Fu Suihe’s lipstick, she whispered coldly, “Did you forget? What did I teach you last night?”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but every person in the room could hear it clearly.
The atmosphere grew unbearably intimate.
Fu Suihe leaned in again. Just before kissing the corner of Ji Yanwan’s lips, she closed her eyes, full of suppressed disgust.
Their kiss was long and lingering, full of aching tension.
Ji Yanwan counted silently in her mind.
Fifteen seconds.
She finally pushed Fu Suihe away.
Not enough. One second short.
The long-absent system suddenly reappeared, startling Ji Yanwan. She cursed at it mentally a few times.
But her body betrayed her thoughts. Her hand moved instinctively, pulling Fu Suihe back in. She gave her another quick peck on the lips.
The beauty looked soft and delicate, and kissing her felt just the same tender and gentle.
Fu Suihe looked toward the reporters, who had already taken enough photos, then sighed softly. As if completing a task, she looked up and calmly said, “Yes, we are indeed developing a private, intimate relationship.”
The reporters stopped asking questions and simply continued snapping photos.
This was the final shot. Once they were done, they could wrap up.
But just as they were about to finish, the woman who had just demanded a kiss now wore a cold expression. Ji Yanwan lifted her head and stared straight into the cameras.
“There is nothing between us,” she said icily.
The roomful of reporters, ready to pack up, froze in stunned silence. They didn’t know how to react.
Then the woman on the bed spoke again.
“If you insist on saying there is something, then it’s that she shamelessly clings to me.”
The air in the room chilled. Everyone gasped, as if they had just witnessed an explosive scandal.
A soft chime rang out in Ji Yanwan’s mind.
{Mission One complete. Life Points: One day. Reward Pool: One million.}
