The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 15
Ji Yanwan’s mind went completely blank.
Engaged?
And to Fu Suihe?
She looked up at the still-angry woman in front of her.
The curtains in the room were tightly drawn. It was a beautiful day outside, with no wind, yet not a single ray of sunlight managed to seep through the privacy curtains. That meant Ji Mingtao was not the only one at home.
Realizing this, Ji Yanwan struggled slightly on the floor. Her tied hands and feet bumped into the edge of the coffee table, making a dull thud.
When she looked up again, her eyes were already brimming with tears from holding back too long.
Ji Mingtao stared coldly at her tearful expression and let out a scoff.
“Don’t bother playing the pity card. I’m not falling for it.”
“You’d better give me an explanation. If not, stay tied up like that all day.”
Ji Yanwan ignored the threat and kept struggling.
Bound at the limbs, she looked like a fish out of water, flopping back and forth on the floor in helpless resistance.
Just as Ji Mingtao was about to run out of patience, faint sounds came from upstairs.
Moments later, the elevator near the entrance began to move.
The noise made Ji Mingtao’s expression freeze. A flicker of panic appeared in her eyes.
The elevator dinged softly.
As the doors opened, Ji Yanwan began to struggle harder. She flailed across the floor with renewed effort, her face flushed red and streaked with tears. The pitiful sight made her look truly desperate.
A woman in a wheelchair frowned as she exited the elevator. The soft sound of wheels rolled across the floor.
Ji Yanwan looked like she had seen a savior. Her voice was hoarse, but she called out, “Sister…”
The woman in the wheelchair wore no makeup. Her white dress was light and flowing, making her look even paler. Her lips had no color, and her entire appearance carried a fragile, almost broken quality.
Ji Hesong frowned as she looked at the scene in front of her: one sister standing, one collapsed on the floor. She sighed helplessly.
“Ah Tao, didn’t I tell you to talk to Wanwan calmly?”
Hearing the voice of her greatest supporter, Ji Yanwan began to wail loudly.
“Sister, she hit me.”
“She hit me so hard it hurts,” she cried, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Ji Hesong softened instantly and sighed again. “Ah Tao, help her up. Don’t always be so harsh with her.”
Ji Mingtao clenched her teeth, glaring fiercely at Ji Yanwan. Still, she grudgingly walked over and untied the ropes.
Once free, Ji Yanwan sniffled and wiped away her tears.
Seeing Ji Mingtao biting her lip and trying to keep her temper in check, Ji Yanwan nearly laughed out loud.
Ji Hesong was naturally gentle and had always favored her two younger sisters, especially the rebellious Ji Yanwan.
And Ji Mingtao? She was completely sister-obsessed. She would only listen to Ji Hesong.
Everyone in the business world knew how unusually close the three Ji sisters were. Unlike other families that tore themselves apart with internal conflict, the Ji sisters were united. Their deep bond was the very reason their family continued to thrive and grow.
Ji Yanwan rubbed the spot she had just hit, letting out a few pitiful whimpers.
Ji Hesong looked at her with concern and sighed. “You’re always so stubborn, even though you know your second sister’s temper.”
“I’m sorry, Second Sister,” Ji Yanwan said immediately, taking the chance to de-escalate. “I won’t dare to do it again.”
Ji Mingtao scoffed, rolled her eyes, and ignored her.
Ji Hesong smiled gently. Her eyes were as soft as spring water. She reached out a fair hand and tugged at Ji Mingtao’s sleeve.
Her nails were neatly trimmed, the nail beds healthy and pink. With the slightest pressure, her fingertips turned a gentle red as she tugged lightly on her sister’s sleeve.
The alpha, whose face had been tense this whole time, finally relaxed a little. Her expression softened as she reached out to hold Ji Hesong’s hand and crouched down beside her.
Looking up at the woman who was as gentle and beautiful as a spring breeze, Ji Mingtao finally softened her voice.
“Sister, you don’t know how outrageous she’s been this time. She and that Fu Suihe have already…”
“The Fu family has come to our house several times. She refused to even show her face when we arranged her engagement with the Chengs, but now she’s practically throwing herself at the Fus. She’s such a fool. She’s completely bewitched by Fu Suihe.”
“With that useless brain of hers, how could she possibly outplay the Fus?”
After venting, Ji Mingtao turned to glare once more at Ji Yanwan, who was rubbing her wrists. Her eyes were filled with disgust.
Ji Hesong listened patiently until she finished, then gently patted her sister’s head.
“Be good, Ah Tao. But isn’t this also an opportunity?”
The two sisters looked at each other, and Ji Mingtao saw the flash of sharp light in Ji Hesong’s eyes.
Things might have appeared calm on the surface lately, but behind the scenes, Ji Hesong had been actively attending bidding meetings. She had already snatched several major projects from Fu Leiwu.
During one bidding session, a small company had even offered to assist her. Though their background remained unclear, no one found it strange, as Fu Leiwu had made plenty of enemies over the years.
It would not be long before the Ji family completely cut off the Fu family’s financial channels and monopolized them.
Since taking over the family business, the two sisters had worked together from opposite ends. What appeared to be old wounds on the Fu family had already festered under the surface. Peel back the scar, and what lay beneath was rotting and inflamed.
The killing intent in Ji Mingtao’s eyes grew stronger. She had tried everything to block the Fu family, but never imagined they would make a move on Ji Yanwan.
“Impossible.” Her eyes flashed with something dark and cruel, and her tone turned cold. “I will never let anyone from the Fu family get close to you again.”
Then her expression softened, and her voice carried pain. “Sister, have you forgotten what happened?”
“I haven’t,” Ji Hesong replied gently, still trying to calm her down. “If the Fu family is this desperate to insert themselves now, it means they’re getting anxious. And I believe in you. The girls you’ve trained, like Bo Li and the others, are all doing exceptionally well.”
Ji Mingtao took several deep breaths and muttered under her breath, “A garden full of blossoming peaches and plums, yet my own house grows bitter melon.”
That made Ji Hesong laugh softly, her tender eyes shimmering like water.
Her smile and her features were soft, but the warmth didn’t reach the depths of her gaze. Hidden deep in her eyes was cold detachment. The Fu family had finally shown their hand. After years of investigation, perhaps now there was a real breakthrough.
Ji Yanwan, standing to the side, only caught bits and pieces. What were they talking about? What exactly had happened in the past? What were her sisters still hiding from her?
Once Ji Mingtao had calmed down, she turned to glance at Ji Yanwan and said with visible disgust, “You and Fu Suihe… how far have things gone?”
Ji Yanwan furrowed her brows, thinking. The most intimate thing they had done was… blow-drying hair?
But then she remembered the system’s mission. Looking at her two sisters, she lowered her eyes and pretended to look deeply moved.
“If you’re not against it… I think I want to get engaged to her.”
“What did you just say?” Ji Mingtao shot to her feet, rolling up her sleeves as she approached. “Say that again, I dare you!”
Ji Yanwan shrank back a few steps, startled. “You’re the one who told me to confess…”
Ji Mingtao’s fury reignited as she cursed, “I told you to be honest, not to start spouting nonsense like that. You really don’t know how to behave, do you? Clearly, I was too easy on you.”
Thinking of how she’d been dropped like a sack earlier, Ji Yanwan felt the lingering pain and lowered her head like a scolded bird.
Ji Hesong quickly reached out and stopped her enraged sister. “Ah Tao, control your temper.”
Then she looked at Ji Yanwan and said gently, “Marriage is not a game. An alpha can only bond with one omega. Once you’re marked for life, it can’t be undone.”
Ji Yanwan rushed to explain, panicked. “It’s just an engagement. Only an engagement.”
Ji Hesong and Ji Mingtao exchanged a look, then Ji Hesong continued, “Are you really sure about this?”
Ji Yanwan nodded quickly, as if afraid they would change their minds.
Ji Hesong smiled softly. “Alright. Then I approve.”
What?
Ji Yanwan looked up sharply, staring at her sisters in disbelief. Just like that, they agreed?
“What? Are you trying to pull something again?” Ji Mingtao glared at her dazed expression. “I’m warning you, don’t push your luck.”
“No, no, not at all. Thank you, Sister. You’re the best.”
Snapping back to her senses, Ji Yanwan quickly stepped forward and hugged Ji Hesong, who was still seated in her wheelchair.
She smelled faintly of gardenia, a light and comforting scent. Ji Yanwan nuzzled against her like an oversized puppy.
Ji Hesong couldn’t help but laugh, reaching up to gently pat her on the head.
Ji Mingtao, who had been left out, took a step forward and pushed her away. “You’re filthy. Go take a shower.”
Ji Yanwan giggled, then quickly turned and gave Ji Mingtao a big hug too, releasing her just as fast before she could react.
“Thank you both. I love you more than anything.”
Ji Mingtao wasn’t moved. She pushed Ji Hesong’s wheelchair toward the elevator, calling back over her shoulder, “Now that you’ve gotten what you wanted, get lost. Stop hanging around the house being an eyesore.”
Ji Yanwan nodded enthusiastically, grinning like a fool.
Only when the elevator doors had closed did she finally snap back to reality.
Wait a minute…
Why didn’t the system give her the mission completion alert?
