The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 16
Ji Yanwan waited for a long time, but all she could hear was the steady ticking of the countdown.
That meant the mission was still in progress.
Get engaged to Fu Suihe. Engagement… with Fu Suihe?
Ji Yanwan suddenly realized what was missing. The mission had not been completed because one important person had yet to be involved.
But did she really have to get engaged?
In the now quiet living room, Ji Yanwan collapsed onto the carpet, staring at the fresh bruise she had just gotten from bumping into the table.
She remembered the bruise on Fu Suihe’s ankle from a few days ago at the engagement party. It looked the same, buried under the skin, faint and bluish.
In just a few days, it would deepen and spread.
Ji Yanwan suddenly became curious. Had Fu Suihe’s ankle healed?
She grabbed her phone and scrolled through her contacts, only to find that she did not have Fu Suihe’s number.
So she opened the Big-Eyed app. The trending page was full of unrelated headlines. She typed “Fu Suihe” into the search bar and found plenty of results.
The top trending topic was “Please treat Fu Suihe better, FU Entertainment.”
Curious, Ji Yanwan clicked in. The most popular post was a collection of updates compiled by one of Fu Suihe’s most devoted fans.
It listed ten different incidents, all accusing FU Entertainment of exploiting her.
There were claims of forcing her to work during her heat period, stealing her rest time, leaking her home address to obsessed fans, and letting the paparazzi mix set photos with her private life to spread rumors.
Ji Yanwan scrolled through the list, looking at the photos the fan had attached. The more she read, the more engrossed she became. A few times, she even clicked her tongue in disbelief. Gradually, a sense of sympathy began to rise within her.
One photo showed a man pressed against the glass at Fu Suihe’s house, grinning creepily into the camera. The caption explained that her address had been leaked.
Ji Yanwan imagined someone like that showing up outside her own home. The thought alone was terrifying.
She continued scrolling until her finger stopped at the final entry.
“Please do not confuse official production stills with her private life!”
The fan wrote that the photo had been taken on set, yet tabloids were using it to spread false stories. Though the person in the photo had been blurred, Ji Yanwan recognized herself immediately.
Her lips twitched slightly. Honestly, she had to admire how skilled the fans were at defending their idol.
The entire post was passionate and well-organized. The photos were clear, the arguments convincing. Even a complete stranger would feel sorry for Fu Suihe after reading it.
Ji Yanwan rolled onto her back and started to wonder. Why had there been no mention of the engagement between the Cheng and Fu families? There had been so many reporters at the event.
She searched everywhere online, but it was as if it had never happened. There was not a single trace of it on the internet.
Fu Suihe’s most recent post on Weibo was from a week ago. It was a candid behind-the-scenes photo.
She was waiting for her cue, dressed in a bright red qipao. Her lips curled into a subtle smile as she looked toward the camera. Her expression was stunning and full of energy.
Ji Yanwan had never seen Fu Suihe like this in real life. She was amazed by her versatility.
With makeup and red lips, her lifted eyes made her look like a seductive rose. But when she wore a simple white dress with her hair down, her expression turned soft and sorrowful, like a fragile dream. She became the kind of woman people could fall for in a single glance.
The comments were full of people calling her “wife” and making flustered emojis.
Ji Yanwan zoomed in and out of the picture five times before swiping it away.
As someone who adored beauty, having such a gorgeous wife, even if she did nothing but sit there, would still feel like a blessing.
Ji Yanwan rolled over and called her best friend.
Normally, Meng Jiayu picked up immediately. This time, the phone rang until it reached voicemail. Ji Yanwan tried again. On the third attempt, it finally connected.
Meng Jiayu’s voice was low and slightly shaky. “Awan, what is it?”
“Send me Fu Suihe’s number. I just realized I don’t have it,” Ji Yanwan said as she rolled across the carpet. “Why are you whispering? I can barely hear you.”
“You still have the nerve to talk to me?” Meng Jiayu snapped. “You’ve got your older sister protecting you. My sister beat me like she wanted to end me. I don’t have the number. Goodbye.”
Even though she sounded angry and flustered, her voice was still hushed. Ji Yanwan could easily imagine her getting punished too. Somehow, knowing they were both in trouble made her feel a bit better.
She kicked her feet back and forth in boredom. A message notification popped up.
Despite claiming she didn’t have it, Meng Jiayu had still sent over the number.
Ji Yanwan stared at the message box for a while, trying to think of the right words. Eventually, she typed the message and hit send.
The moment it was sent, she jumped up from the floor.
This mission was actually pretty simple. She could probably finish it within a day.
If a mission did not hurt anyone and was within her abilities, Ji Yanwan did not mind completing it.
A few moments later, the message received a reply. She checked the time. She still had time for a nap before heading out again.
Inside a crowded bar, music thumped and bodies swayed.
Several alphas sat at a table near the front, their gazes fixed on someone nearby.
Their target sat alone at another table, a stunning omega they had chosen for the night.
She was a true beauty. The short skirt outlined her figure perfectly. Her long legs were crossed under the table. Her red lips shimmered under the bar’s lighting, touched slightly by alcohol. She looked both alluring and cold.
Fu Suihe had been sitting in the bar for over thirty minutes. She looked at her phone again. The most recent message was five hours ago.
Yesterday evening, she had received a text from an unknown number.
“This is Ji Yanwan. Would you be open to meeting?”
She had been on her way home at the time.
The uproar earlier that day had been unusually loud. Even Fu Leiwu, who usually paid no attention to her, had lost his temper. He sent people to pull her straight off set, probably after seeing the photos she had leaked herself.
Fu Suihe looked at the email she had sent. Both recipients had opened the file.
What puzzled her now was the message from Ji Yanwan.
Logically speaking, those photos should have been enough to trigger Ji Mingtao’s anger. Otherwise, she would not have called Ji Yanwan directly. But based on what she knew of Ji Mingtao, this matter should not have ended so quietly.
So why was Ji Yanwan asking to meet?
Had she figured out that Fu Suihe was the one who sent the photos?
Just as Fu Suihe’s patience was running out, someone tapped her on the shoulder.
She turned around to see a woman in a neatly tailored suit. It was different from the one she wore yesterday. This time, the buttons were done all the way up to the collar.
The woman, fashionably late, adjusted her glasses and spoke with a tone full of apology.
“Sorry, traffic was bad.”
Ji Yanwan sat obediently across from her, her eyes lowered, avoiding any wandering glances.
She had noticed Fu Suihe the moment she entered. Those long, slender, pale legs, no matter where they were always made a striking impression.
Fu Suihe looked at the well-behaved girl sitting opposite her and studied her with mild amusement.
“You know,” she said with a faint laugh, “the outfit you wore yesterday was actually more appropriate for a place like this.”
All around them, flickering red lights danced. In the center, people swayed on the dance floor, many clearly drunk.
Ji Yanwan, dressed in a proper suit and sitting stiffly, looked completely out of place.
Fu Suihe raised her hand and ordered two drinks.
“So, Miss Ji,” she said lightly, “what business do you have with me?”
The bartender slid two cocktails across the counter. The soft pink liquid in the glasses shimmered like poison.
Ji Yanwan’s old roommate used to love drinking. She had tagged along a few times, but this was her first time coming to a bar alone. As she picked up the glass, her hands were a little stiff.
Noticing her hesitation, Fu Suihe let out a soft laugh, then raised her own glass and took a small sip.
“Don’t worry, Miss Ji. I didn’t poison it.”
The alcohol soaked her red lips, making them shine under the dim lights.
Ji Yanwan swallowed hard, then braced herself and downed the whole drink in one go. With that, her courage surged.
“Actually,” she began, “I want to get engaged to you.”
Fu Suihe paused with her glass in hand and let out a cold chuckle. She pretended to be surprised.
“Why? We barely know each other. Isn’t that moving a bit fast?”
Her voice was soft and smooth. Her lips glistened with the trace of alcohol, and her fox-like eyes sparkled under the lights like distant stars.
Ji Yanwan looked up at her. In that moment, the noise of the bar faded away. It felt like she had fallen into a boundless galaxy. A cool, faint scent of blue mist wrapped around her, and the drink she had just swallowed exploded like a sugar bomb in the back of her throat. The sweetness spread from her stomach all the way to her eyes, setting her whole chest ablaze.
Fu Suihe, sitting in front of her, looked like a crystal spring. Ji Yanwan opened her mouth, suddenly thirsty.
“So… I was hoping you could do me a favor.”
Seeing the dazed look in Ji Yanwan’s eyes, Fu Suihe retracted her pheromones and sneered.
“I can’t help you with that, Miss Ji. You’d better ask someone else.”
She stood up and straightened her clothes. As she did, a small card conveniently slipped from her pocket and landed on the table.
Ji Yanwan watched her walk away. The beautiful figure slowly faded into the crowd, shrinking until she was nothing more than a distant shadow.
Ji Yanwan sighed deeply.
She had flirted, and still been told to leave. The rejection stung.
A heavy wave of defeat mixed with self-doubt swept over her.
The system had already started its countdown. Only twenty-four hours remained, and most of it had already passed.
Ji Yanwan glanced at her watch. By the time the night ended, her life would disappear along with the fading moonlight.
So what if it did? Death was just death.
Giving up was something today’s students had mastered like a skill.
She raised her hand and waved the bartender over, ordering another round of the same drinks.
If she was going to die anyway, she might as well drink enough to meet death in a dream.
Determined to let it all go, Ji Yanwan drained her glass. The burning alcohol matched the growing fire in her chest.
By the third glass, the whole room was spinning.
Leaning against the back of the sofa, her consciousness started to fade.
“Beep. Detected resistance from host. System will initiate correction immediately.”
The woman who had been slumped in the chair suddenly jolted upright. Her once-glazed eyes sharpened in an instant.
Those grey irises now shone brighter than usual, with a colder and more dangerous glint.
“Correction complete. Please proceed with the side mission.”
“Seize Fu Suihe by force.”
