The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 19
If Ji Mingtao was this furious, it meant she already knew what had happened.
Ji Yanwan ended the call. She opened her mouth to ask something but was cut off.
Fu Suihe was curled up under the blanket. Her voice trembled as she asked, “You’re not going to ask me what happened last night, are you?”
Caught off guard by how accurately she had read her mind, Ji Yanwan froze and met her gaze directly.
Their eyes locked, and for a moment the air around them fell completely silent.
Fu Suihe’s eyes turned red, but her face grew even paler. “You bastard. Ji Yanwan, you bastard.”
Seeing her cry like a fragile flower drenched in rain, Ji Yanwan started to panic. The way she repeated the word “bastard” sounded less like rage and more like heartbreak, like a betrayed lover mourning her trust.
But no matter how hard Ji Yanwan searched her memory, she couldn’t recall anything that would explain the marks on Fu Suihe’s body.
Seeing her hesitate, Fu Suihe sniffled and said, “Do you need me to help you remember? Remember how you broke into my room? How you humiliated me?”
“Or do you just want to apologize casually and say it was all because you were drunk?”
The more she spoke, the more off it sounded to Ji Yanwan.
She knew her own limits when it came to alcohol.
Sure, she couldn’t hold her liquor, but her behavior was always decent. When she got drunk, she usually just passed out cold. Her friends often joked that she was like a brick—wherever you put her, that’s where she’d stay.
That was exactly why Ji Yanwan had felt safe enough to abandon the mission and rely on alcohol to shield herself from the system’s punishment.
But now, none of it made sense. If she could barely stand when drunk, how could she have done anything to Fu Suihe?
The more she thought about it, the worse her headache became. She forced herself to reach for her clothes and began putting them on. In her mind, she had already given up on the mission.
After over twenty years of being raised with a clear moral compass, Ji Yanwan couldn’t accept doing anything that went against her conscience.
Once she was dressed, she stood up and looked at Fu Suihe, who was still curled up on the bed, watching her with wariness all over her face.
Ji Yanwan bowed and said, “I’m truly sorry for scaring you last night. Maybe it wasn’t my intention, but I still ended up hurting you. I will accept any compensation you ask for. However, for the sake of both our safety, I think it’s best that we keep our distance from now on. I apologize again.”
Fu Suihe was stunned by the apology. She tried to find some trace of sarcasm or mockery in Ji Yanwan’s expression.
But the woman’s face was calm and serious. Her tone was sincere, without a hint of evasion or denial. What caught Fu Suihe off guard even more was that Ji Yanwan suggested they stop seeing each other.
Fu Suihe let out a soft laugh, finding it absurd.
She had set all this up not to get an apology or distance. She wanted the exact opposite. She wanted to be bound to Ji Yanwan for good.
Ji Yanwan wasn’t surprised by her reaction. Whether she had done it or not, the system and the mission had caused harm, and she was willing to accept the consequences.
What she didn’t expect was Fu Suihe’s faint smile. The swelling on her face made that forced smile especially jarring.
Fu Suihe lowered her voice and said softly, “Didn’t you say you wanted to get engaged to me? We’ve come this far. Are you going to break off the engagement now?”
“And besides, aren’t we in love?”
Love? Ji Yanwan was completely lost. She was about to ask what Fu Suihe meant when the hotel room door suddenly opened.
A woman stormed in, heels clacking against the floor. She rushed toward Ji Yanwan and raised her hand to slap her, but it was blocked midair.
Ji Yanwan pushed her hand away, and when she looked up, there was a sharp edge in her eyes.
Ji Mingtao stared at her and took a deep breath, clearly shaken by the sudden shift in Ji Yanwan’s presence. For a moment, she forgot to move.
Somehow, her once-rebellious little sister had become tougher, carrying an aura that Ji Mingtao couldn’t quite explain. Even someone as fierce as she was felt momentarily intimidated.
Then came the sound of wheels rolling across the floor. Ji Hesong sat calmly in her wheelchair, her usual warm and gentle demeanor gone.
“Ji Yanwan.”
Her voice was neutral, giving away no emotion.
Ji Hesong had always been gentle and patient. She had only called Ji Yanwan by her full name twice in her life. Once when she tried to force an Omega. And now.
Looking at her two furious older sisters, Ji Yanwan took a deep breath. “Sister, I…”
“We’re in a relationship.”
She didn’t get to finish before someone else spoke up.
Fu Suihe was still wrapped in the blanket, sitting on the bed with a pale face. She said calmly, “Ah Wan and I are in a relationship. Everything that happened was consensual.”
The Ji sisters were stunned and turned to look at her. The bruises on her body were impossible to ignore.
They could already imagine what had happened last night. With the photos sent to Ji Mingtao’s inbox this morning, they had enough to get Ji Yanwan arrested for years.
But Fu Suihe’s words pulled everything back.
Her hair fell loosely around her face. Her long lashes fluttered like butterfly wings. She looked up and met Ji Mingtao’s cold gaze without flinching.
She spoke slowly and clearly. “I want to get engaged to Ah Wan. What happened last night was something we discussed beforehand. I hope both of you will give us your blessing.”
“No,” Ji Yanwan said sharply, frowning. “That’s not true. I was drunk last night. I made a mistake.”
She turned to Fu Suihe. “You don’t need to lie to protect me. I already said I’ll take responsibility, so there’s no need to cover for me.”
“But I’m not lying. I’ve liked you for a long time. You like me too, don’t you?” Fu Suihe said. “If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have visited me on set, or helped me when I was being bullied, right?”
Ji Yanwan’s frown deepened. She realized that she had never truly seen Fu Suihe clearly before.
The struggling actress, the orphan of the Fu family, the gentle one, the beautiful one, the lively one, the devoted one—countless versions of Fu Suihe had blurred into one, layered with so many roles and labels that they made up the person called Fu Suihe.
But weren’t NPCs supposed to stay inside their scripted roles?
Then who was this woman now—this persistent, guarded woman speaking lies with a look of honesty in her eyes?
Ji Yanwan’s headache worsened. She felt like she had fallen into a deep pit.
A pit named Fu Suihe.
For someone who always thought missions were complicated, Ji Yanwan suddenly found herself intrigued. She was even curious to see what tricks Fu Suihe would play next.
There was definitely more going on than she had realized. If the room had only contained the two of them, and those injuries weren’t from her, then the whole thing had to be a setup.
But if Fu Suihe had framed her, why did she now want to marry her?
Ji Yanwan unexpectedly felt like playing along, curious to see what else Fu Suihe could pull off.
Ji Mingtao was the first to react. She stared at the fragile-looking woman on the bed, trying to see through her act.
But Fu Suihe’s expression was genuine, and her words were filled with emotion. There was no fault to be found.
Ji Mingtao asked cautiously, “Are you telling the truth?”
Fu Suihe nodded. “Yes. We actually started dating after that last time we were photographed together.”
“This time we just got a little carried away.”
Ji Mingtao let out a deep breath and bit her lip. “Alright. Then I’ll speak with the Fu family. I hope you’ll still be saying the same thing when the time comes.”
Fu Suihe nodded seriously. When her eyes shifted to Ji Yanwan, there was a trace of gentleness in them. “I really love her.”
Sitting quietly to the side, Ji Hesong frowned slightly but said nothing.
Ji Mingtao was known for her decisiveness.
After bringing Ji Yanwan home from the hotel, she immediately grounded her.
By the next afternoon, she had already arranged a meeting with the Fu family.
Unlike the grand engagement party the Cheng family had previously organized, this was just a simple dinner. They even chose a room casually from within their own home.
But the Fu family took it extremely seriously.
Fu Leiwu arrived early with his wife and two children, all dressed formally, clearly treating the meeting with high importance.
The secretary’s call came just as Ji Hesong stubbed out her cigarette. The lingering nicotine smoke blurred the edges of her face.
She looked up at Ji Yanwan, who was sitting on the couch, leaning on one hand and staring into space.
The tailored suit hugged her frame perfectly. Unlike her usual high heels, she wore white sneakers and low socks today, revealing her fair ankles. Her long legs, wrapped in slim-fit trousers, looked both sharp and graceful.
She rested her head against one hand, and through the haze of smoke, only the sharp line of her jaw and slender neck were visible.
Ji Hesong suddenly realized that her youngest sister had grown up. She now carried the presence of a mature and formidable Alpha.
There was a calmness in Ji Yanwan that hadn’t been there before.
“Yanwan,” Ji Hesong called gently. “Come on. The Fu family is all here.”
Pulled from her thoughts, Ji Yanwan nodded softly in response.
The sound of the wheelchair wheels cut through the last traces of smoke. Ji Yanwan pushed Ji Hesong out of the office.
Only the two of them were in the elevator. Ji Hesong looked up at her and said, “Yanwan, if you regret this, I can help you get out of it.”
Ji Yanwan met her gaze. Ji Hesong’s eyes were filled with worry and affection.
Ji Yanwan smiled. “It’s okay, sister. I caused this mess. I’ll take responsibility for it.”
Seeing her determination, Ji Hesong didn’t try to persuade her again. She just nodded and said, “Alright. No matter what happens, remember you still have us.”
“Don’t pressure yourself too much. All I want is for you to be happy.”
Ji Yanwan felt touched and nodded sweetly.
For a moment, she couldn’t help but reflect. Compared to others who transmigrated into stories filled with toxic relatives and constant schemes, she was incredibly lucky. Even amid the chaos of a wealthy family, she had two sisters who truly cared about her. That was rare.
If it had been when she first entered this world, Ji Yanwan probably would have handed everything over to her sisters and lived comfortably under their protection.
But after being manipulated by Fu Suihe again and again, her competitiveness had been triggered.
Since she couldn’t escape, she might as well play along. She was genuinely curious what plans this storyline-breaking NPC still had up her sleeve.
Why was she so desperate to be tied to her? What was the real motive?
The elevator descended directly to the parking garage. Their driver was already waiting.
Ji Yanwan helped Ji Hesong into the car, buckled her seatbelt, and then sat down beside her.
The driver had been with the Ji family for many years. His greatest strengths were his discretion and silence.
Ji Yanwan glanced down at Ji Hesong’s legs, hesitated for a moment, and asked, “Sister, will your legs ever recover?”
Ji Hesong hadn’t expected that question. Her voice was quiet. “Maybe. Since it’s not congenital, the doctors say there’s a chance. But it will take time.”
Not congenital.
Ji Yanwan picked up on the key detail. Her mind immediately recalled the system’s update data.
Ji Hesong’s injury had happened ten years ago. A serious accident had left her unable to stand again. She had undergone countless treatments, and her spinal and nerve function had supposedly recovered fully. By all accounts, there should no longer be an issue.
But fifteen-year-old Ji Hesong had remained in a wheelchair for ten years.
Ten years ago.
Ji Yanwan narrowed her eyes. That time frame meant something.
Not only had the original Fu family been wiped out ten years ago, but Ji Hesong had also been injured that same year.
What really happened a decade ago?
