The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 4
Ji Yanwan had no idea how to explain her “mission” to her two older sisters.
After releasing the latest mission, the system had gone offline and refused to respond no matter how many times she called it.
Annoying. Even the system had an attitude.
Ji Yanwan swallowed her frustration and tried to think through her next move.
This mission had clearly started with force and chaos. If she really went through with taking Fu Suihe away from her engagement banquet, the consequences were unthinkable.
She glanced at her two sisters, who were sitting off to the side discussing work, and decided she needed to find a breakthrough on her own.
Ji Mingtao noticed the softly closed door and felt her right eyelid twitch.
When her little sister acted quiet, it usually meant she was up to no good.
But Ji Yanwan, already out of the building, had no idea what her sister was thinking.
She stood outside the Ji family building, staring off into space.
A black van pulled up in front of her, and the tinted window rolled down slowly.
Inside was a stunning woman, who removed her sunglasses and smiled faintly.
“What a coincidence, Third Miss Ji. We meet again.”
The woman was beautiful, with a natural air of charm. Her eyes were deep, like a still pool that rippled with something ambiguous every time she blinked.
But being stared at by those eyes made Ji Yanwan feel uneasy.
She quickly glanced around, checking for any reporters nearby.
Fu Suihe noticed the wary glances but wasn’t offended. She kept smiling.
“Are you heading out, Miss Ji? Would you like a ride?”
“No, thank you,” Ji Yanwan replied curtly. “We’re not headed in the same direction.”
The two stood in awkward silence when the honk of another car broke through the air behind them.
A head poked out from a window and shouted, “Ah Wan! Over here!”
Ji Yanwan turned toward the voice. As soon as she saw the face, her mind matched it to a familiar identity.
Meng Jiayu, the youngest daughter of the Meng family. She was Ji Yanwan’s best friend, another carefree Alpha known for partying more than studying.
Like spotting a lifeline, Ji Yanwan quickly ran over and jumped into the car.
From the rearview mirror, Fu Suihe watched the girl’s retreating figure grow smaller and smaller. Her smile faded. A trace of contempt appeared in her eyes.
Inside the car, Ji Yanwan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She wasn’t sure what her plan was anymore, but she decided to just go with the flow for now.
Meng Jiayu turned the wheel sharply and grumbled, “That car in front was such a pain. Just sat there for ages before moving. I almost hit the gas and rammed into it.”
“Sat there for ages?” Ji Yanwan blinked. “I thought she just happened to pass by?”
Meng Jiayu snorted. “No way. That car was parked there the whole time. Probably another shady media outlet camping out for gossip.”
Ji Yanwan thought about who was in the car. So, Fu Suihe had been watching her the entire time?
Meng Jiayu noticed her friend spacing out and teased, “Don’t look so serious. I’m taking you to meet someone. My latest crush.”
“Super pretty, a female DJ. Total badass Omega.”
“Same deal as always. You help me flirt, and if I land her, I’ll introduce you to one of her friends.”
The casual tone brought Ji Yanwan back to herself. This was more like the person she was supposed to be.
The original character had been a notorious flirt. Of course this made sense.
Meng Jiayu glanced over and grinned. “By the way, what’s up with that news story? Pretty bold, Ah Wan. I mention a pretty girl and you don’t even blink. Don’t tell me you’re actually into Fu Suihe?”
“Absolutely not,” Ji Yanwan said without hesitation.
Meng Jiayu nodded. “Good. My sister doesn’t ask much from me, but one thing she’s dead serious about is staying away from the Fu family. You should be careful too.”
“The Fu family?” Ji Yanwan frowned. “They’re really that dangerous?”
Meng Jiayu burst out laughing and turned the wheel as they passed a green light. “Don’t tell me you’re already so enchanted by Fu Suihe that you’ve forgotten everything about her family.”
Over the next ten minutes, with Meng Jiayu and the system both filling in gaps, Ji Yanwan slowly started piecing things together.
Fu Suihe’s father had been the head of the Fu family. Ten years ago, an internal family power struggle ended in disaster. Both her parents died in a car crash. Of the Fu family’s five children, only Fu Suihe survived. All the others died one after another under mysterious circumstances.
The current head of the Fu family wasn’t someone from the younger generation, but Fu Leiwu, Fu Suihe’s uncle, who had risen to power after that internal conflict.
To this day, no one knew how Fu Suihe had managed to survive.
Ji Yanwan asked nervously, “So the downfall of the original Fu family… does that have anything to do with us?”
“What does it have to do with us?” Meng Jiayu replied casually. “That was their internal family drama.”
Ji Yanwan nodded, but something still felt off.
If it had nothing to do with the other families, then why was Fu Suihe so fixated on her?
While she was still trying to untangle the logic, Meng Jiayu pulled into a parking space.
The café looked stylish and modern, with white decor and a black logo that gave off a chic vibe.
At this hour, it wasn’t too crowded. A live musician strummed a guitar gently in the corner.
As they entered, the singer paused and brought over two prepared coffees from the counter.
Meng Jiayu pulled Ji Yanwan to sit down and introduced her to the woman walking over.
“This is my friend, Ke Zai.”
The woman wasn’t wearing makeup. She had on a loose white T-shirt and shorts, with braided hair that somehow looked soft and casual.
Ke Na set down the coffee and gave a calm smile. “Hello.”
Meng Jiayu casually wrapped an arm around Ji Yanwan’s shoulders and said, “This is the Ji family’s Third Miss, Ah Wan.”
Ke Na’s hand paused. She looked up and examined Ji Yanwan closely.
“The one from the recent gossip post?”
Ji Yanwan froze mid-sip and immediately choked, coughing violently.
Meng Jiayu jumped in surprise and started patting her back.
Ke Na handed over a few tissues. As she reached forward, Ji Yanwan noticed a ring on her left ring finger.
Why did that ring look so familiar?
She wanted to look again, but Ke Na had already tucked her hand into her pocket, hiding the ring.
Meng Jiayu chuckled. “Wow, you really care about that story, huh?”
Still catching her breath, Ji Yanwan sighed. “Come on, don’t spread nonsense. She’s about to get engaged to the Cheng family’s second daughter. That kind of rumor could damage her reputation.”
A porcelain cup clattered loudly back onto its saucer.
Ke Na looked up, her eyes filled with disbelief.
“What did you just say?”
Ji Yanwan was a little confused. “The woman I was rumored with, she’s getting engaged to Cheng Mo tomorrow, right? It’s at Jiangcheng International Hotel?”
Meng Jiayu nodded and patted her arm gently. “Don’t worry. Tomorrow I’ll find you an even better little celebrity.”
Ke Na asked quietly, “The second daughter of the Cheng family? Cheng Mo?”
Ji Yanwan nodded. “Yes. You know her too?”
Ke Na lowered her eyes and didn’t respond.
The three of them continued chatting casually until the nearby bar opened for the night, and they moved there.
Ke Na changed into a bold outfit. She wore a strapless top with tiny shorts and heavy smoky makeup. Her look was daring and confident.
Watching her move with the music from the center of the bar, Ji Yanwan felt a little dazed.
With Meng Jiayu hyping things up, Ji Yanwan tried to blend back into a life surrounded by beautiful women.
But when an Omega with a sweet orange blossom scent leaned close, Ji Yanwan instinctively stepped back.
She silently cursed in her head. I fight for pure love. Get away from me.
Later that night, they partied until almost dawn. Ji Yanwan was once again woken up by a pillow smack courtesy of Ji Mingtao.
Still half asleep and rubbing her eyes, she stumbled downstairs with a yawn.
Her two sisters were already dressed and waiting.
Ji Mingtao wore a deep red velvet gown. Her long hair flowed over her shoulders, and her matching red lips made her look like a blooming rose in full heat.
Ji Hesong, seated gracefully in her wheelchair, wore a white satin gown. Her hair was elegantly styled in a low bun. With refined brows and deep, calm eyes, she looked like a living painting.
Ji Yanwan looked down in embarrassment at her brightly colored beach shorts and little yellow duck slippers.
The air felt awkward.
Ji Mingtao narrowed her eyes. “Don’t tell me you plan to wear that to the Cheng and Fu engagement banquet.”
Ji Yanwan curled her toes against the floor.
Ji Hesong asked softly, “Did you not sleep well, Wanwan?”
Ji Mingtao frowned deeply. “Ji Yanwan, do not tell me you went out drinking last night knowing full well today is the day of that engagement.”
“No. Not at all.” Ji Yanwan shook her head. “Meng Jiayu invited me out. I didn’t even stay that long.”
Ji Mingtao glared at her. “If you do anything even slightly suspicious with Fu Suihe, I swear I’ll deal with you myself.”
Ji Hesong smiled and gently patted her. “Alright. No need to be so harsh. Call Ann and have her pick out something for Wanwan to wear.”
That took a full two hours.
When Ji Yanwan finally came downstairs again, both sisters were stunned.
She looked tall and poised. Her medium-length hair was neatly combed back. She wore frameless glasses and a custom tailored deep green suit. The cuffs were rolled up slightly, showing her slender pale wrists.
Ji Mingtao’s expression finally softened a little. She gave a snort. “Now you look like someone who belongs at this kind of event.”
The engagement banquet was held at the International Hotel.
Both the Cheng and Fu families had gone all in, reserving an entire floor to host their guests.
The venue was packed with people. Reporters, business partners, and media personnel crowded the entrance.
Fu Suihe had recently won the Best Actress award and was at the peak of her fame. Before the banquet even began, it had already become the top trending topic online.
The Ji family was the last to arrive. When Ji Mingtao pushed Ji Hesong through the entrance, all the cameras turned their way.
Ji Hesong frowned slightly, but her view was quickly blocked by someone stepping in front of her.
When she looked up, she saw only the back of a tall figure in a dark green suit.
“Please move your camera. Thank you.”
When Ji Yanwan spoke without expression, she sounded stern and sharp.
The reporter, startled by her intense gaze, quickly lowered his camera.
There were many Alphas and Omegas at the banquet. Since no private areas had been arranged, every table came equipped with a box of suppressants.
After finishing her injection, Ji Yanwan looked up and saw someone walking toward her.
Fu Suihe.
Unlike their previous meetings, today Fu Suihe wore an elegant yet revealing gown. Her pale shoulders and delicate collarbones were exposed.
The white silk dress hugged her curves tightly, accentuating her slim waist and full chest. A large bow in her hair fluttered softly with her steps.
It was the first time Ji Yanwan had ever seen such a perfect hourglass figure. She froze, mind blank, recalling that orchid-scented night that almost drowned her in temptation.
The white bow stopped right in front of her.
Fu Suihe smiled gently and leaned in. “Miss Ji, you’re bleeding.”
Snapping back to reality, Ji Yanwan looked down and quickly removed the injector.
As Fu Suihe pointed out, she had left it in too long. A few drops of bl00d had already formed around the injection site.
Ji Yanwan quickly grabbed a tissue and pressed it against her arm.
“Thank you,” she mumbled.
“You shouldn’t do it like this.”
Soft, warm fingers touched her hand. Fu Suihe carefully folded the tissue and pressed it gently over the wound.
The bow on her head moved slightly as she leaned closer.
From this angle, Ji Yanwan could not only see the top of her head.
She also saw the faint lines of her spine, the delicate curve of her back like the ridges of snowcapped mountains.
Ji Yanwan cleared her throat and turned away, locking eyes with someone nearby.
The camera flashed.
The male Omega reporter panicked and fumbled, accidentally switching on the flash.
Ji Yanwan glanced at the angle, then looked down at Fu Suihe, who was still tending to her wound.
Her expression tightened.
From this angle, the photo would capture both their faces. Worse, it would show just enough of Fu Suihe’s exposed back to create an ugly headline.
Something about that bothered her.
She stood up and walked straight toward the reporter.
The reporter gulped and opened his mouth to speak.
Then came the sound of shattering glass.
He turned in shock and saw that the lens of his expensive camera was now broken into pieces.
Ji Yanwan calmly adjusted her sleeve and looked at him.
“The memory card. Take it out.”
