The Black Lotus Omega Always Wraps His Tail Around Me (GL, ABO) - Chapter 5
It wasn’t just the reporter who was stunned. Ji Mingtao, who had been pushing Ji Hesong, was equally surprised.
Because Ji Hesong had mobility issues and was also an Omega, Ji Mingtao had taken her to a private room to administer her suppressant before returning to the hall.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw her younger sister pinning a reporter against the wall, looking like she was threatening him, while another woman stood quietly nearby.
“Wanwan, what are you doing?” Ji Hesong’s voice was gentle, pulling Ji Yanwan back to her senses.
She turned her head and called out sweetly, “Sister.”
“Miss Fu, shouldn’t you be at the entrance with Cheng Mo greeting the guests?” Ji Mingtao’s tone was cold. “What are you doing here bothering my sister?”
Ji Hesong added calmly, “And bringing a reporter along?”
Her words hit the mark. Ji Yanwan looked toward the reporter whose camera she had just destroyed, only to see him now standing close to Fu Suihe.
Frustration welled up in her. She realized her earlier impulse had played right into someone else’s plan.
But Fu Suihe didn’t look the least bit flustered under their questioning. She met their eyes with confidence.
“My sister is greeting guests at the front, so of course I’m handling the ones inside.”
“As for the reporter,” she glanced at the man beside her, “as you know, in our industry, cameras are always part of the job.”
The reporter, clearly catching her hint, quickly apologized and backed away.
Fu Suihe then turned to Ji Yanwan and spoke in a soft, almost aggrieved tone. “Was I bothering you, Third Miss Ji?”
Ji Yanwan cleared her throat and looked away. “More guests are arriving.”
Fu Suihe smiled politely. “Then I won’t keep you. Please call the staff if you need anything.”
As she walked away, Ji Mingtao gave a sharp sigh and muttered under her breath, visibly annoyed.
“If we hadn’t come back just now, the entertainment pages would have had a fresh scandal about you two tomorrow.”
Hearing the complaint, Ji Yanwan lowered her gaze to the spot on her arm where the bleeding had already stopped.
But in her mind, the image of that white bow fluttering above Fu Suihe’s head lingered, refusing to fade.
The engagement banquet felt strange. Not a single elder or family member from the Fu side had shown up. Throughout the entire event, it was Cheng Qi managing everything alone.
Cheng Mo, who was supposed to be greeting guests, had been reassigned. She now stood behind the bar pouring water for Cheng Qi.
Suddenly, loud noise erupted at the entrance, drawing everyone’s attention.
Then came Cheng Qi’s shout. “Security, someone is making a scene!”
Ji Yanwan turned toward the commotion and realized it wasn’t just one person causing the stir.
It was an entire band.
With electric guitars and basses in hand, the group squeezed through the door, blocking most of the entrance.
At the center of the crowd, a woman with dreadlocks and a short spaghetti-strap dress strolled in while sucking on a lollipop.
Seeing her face, Meng Jiayu raised her brows. “Wait, isn’t that…”
Ji Yanwan pushed aside the head blocking her view and got a good look.
That was the same heartbroken DJ Ke Na they had met earlier.
She turned to look at Meng Jiayu, her expression full of doubt.
This world really was something else. Drama never stopped.
The room quickly descended into chaos. Reporters, originally hired to document the engagement, caught wind of a juicy story and began rushing in all directions.
Security guards and photographers clashed as they fought to control the scene.
Guests who had been calmly seated also began to panic.
Ji Mingtao immediately pushed Ji Hesong back into the private room for safety.
Ji Yanwan stood up to follow them, but before she could take a step, everything went black.
The system activated again, this time with a countdown.
“Ten minutes remaining. Remove Fu Suihe from the venue, or face immediate termination.”
“You have ignored your mission. This is your first warning.”
A high-pitched sound filled her ears, followed by a constant ringing.
Ji Yanwan felt like her entire brain was thrown into chaos. Her vision turned dark and her hearing distorted.
She could not see.
Blindly, she reached out in front of her, searching for something to hold onto.
Suddenly, a pair of hands grabbed hers and pulled her forward.
“Meng Jiayu?” she asked instinctively. “Is that you? I can’t see anything.”
The person holding her hands gave a soft hum in response.
Ji Yanwan let out a shaky breath and held on tighter.
As she was led forward, the disorientation in her mind began to clear. The world gradually became sharper.
The voices around her grew louder. The sounds of shouting and camera shutters rang out without pause, making her feel restless and overwhelmed.
She still couldn’t see clearly and wasn’t sure whether it was people screaming or just her own hearing betraying her.
The person guiding her seemed to know the venue well. With their help, she moved through the crowd without difficulty.
Suddenly, they stopped.
Before Ji Yanwan could react, she was pushed hard into a small room.
Her vision cleared just in time. She blinked and looked around.
She had been shoved into a temporary resting area, surrounded on three sides by curtains. The fourth side was marked with a large engagement banner.
The room was just the right size to give her a clear view of what was happening outside without being easily spotted.
Ji Yanwan stood on her toes behind the engagement board, scanning the room for that familiar figure in white.
But she couldn’t see her anywhere.
Just then, a chime echoed in her mind.
Mission complete.
Ji Yanwan frowned. When had she completed the mission?
She tried calling the system again but received no response.
That was strange.
Outside, the chaos had only grown.
The people storming in were not shouting or acting out. They just moved with confidence, still chewing lollipops as they entered.
Cheng Mo, who had been quietly pouring water, turned around and froze when she saw who was walking toward her.
Her hand slipped and the glass she held dropped to the floor with a loud crash.
The woman with the lollipop tilted her head slightly and gave a playful grin.
“I’m here to crash the wedding. Coming with me?”
Cheng Mo, usually so reserved, let out a rare laugh.
“Just like that? Where’s the betrothal gift?”
Ji Yanwan watched the whole scene play out with wide eyes.
Of course. This world really was a novel. There was always just a hint of cheesy romance tucked behind the chaos.
Ke Na rummaged around for something to offer but found nothing.
She clicked her tongue in annoyance, took two steps forward, cupped Cheng Mo’s face, and shoved the lollipop into her mouth.
“You ate my candy. That means you’re mine now.”
Ke Na grabbed Cheng Mo’s hand and ran off with her, waving cheerfully at the cameras aimed in their direction.
Everything happened so fast.
By the time Cheng Qi realized what was going on, Ke Na and Cheng Mo had already disappeared down the hallway. The rest of the band members exchanged glances and began playing music before they were escorted out by security.
Ji Yanwan, still hidden, whispered excitedly to the person beside her, “Meng Jiayu must be heartbroken. What a dramatic love story.”
The person next to her hesitated, then replied in a low voice, “Yes. But we’re not so different, are we?”
“Me?” Ji Yanwan scoffed softly. “Please, I’m just a poor soul who nearly got executed by a failed mission.”
“What mission?”
“Have you ever read those outrageous romance novels?” Ji Yanwan gestured animatedly. “It’s all about forced love and chaotic drama!”
But the moment she turned her head and saw who was standing beside her, her heart nearly stopped.
The woman who had pulled her out earlier—who she thought was Meng Jiayu—was now standing in a strapless gown, her makeup flawless. Glitter adorned the corners of her eyes, making her already alluring gaze even more irresistible.
Under the soft lights, the shimmer sparkled like a galaxy. Ji Yanwan’s heart pounded uncontrollably.
Fu Suihe smiled faintly, the stars in her eyes glowing with mischief and calm. “So, your mission was to forcibly take me away?”
She gently lifted her dress and stepped closer. The distance between them narrowed to just a single step.
From outside the curtain, soft footsteps could be heard approaching.
Fu Suihe glanced at the narrow gap in the curtain where a camera lens had slipped through. Without hesitation, she stepped closer and pressed a kiss to Ji Yanwan’s cheek.
She was wearing perfume—a scent unlike her usual pheromones. It was oolong tea, delicate and warm.
The soft kiss, the brush of her fingers, the light floral scent—it all wrapped Ji Yanwan in a gentle, invisible veil.
A woman who had never been in love, Ji Yanwan felt something crack open in her chest.
Especially when she looked into Fu Suihe’s eyes. It was like staring into an endless starry night.
Fu Suihe reached out her hand and whispered, “I’ve already come with you. Just for today, let me be your bride.”
Ji Yanwan couldn’t look away. It was as if she were bewitched.
She slowly lifted her hand to respond.
But before their hands could fully meet, the curtain was suddenly flung open and the quiet moment shattered.
Fu Suihe was faster—she held tightly onto Ji Yanwan’s hand.
A crowd stood at the entrance. The once dimly lit room was now fully exposed.
“Ji Yanwan.”
Ji Mingtao practically spats out the name, fury etched across her face as she saw the two of them standing hand in hand.
While everyone else was panicking over Ke Na and Cheng Mo’s dramatic escape, Ji Mingtao had felt something was off. Her right eyelid had been twitching since childhood, that had always been a sign that her younger sister was about to cause trouble.
Now, seeing Ji Yanwan holding hands with Fu Suihe, her fury exploded.
“What are you two doing?” Her voice was harsh and unforgiving.
“Jie…” Ji Yanwan swallowed nervously. “If I say this is all a misunderstanding, would you believe me?”
Ji Mingtao gave a short, cold laugh and began walking toward them.
Panicking, Ji Yanwan instinctively stepped back, forgetting what was behind her.
The decorative engagement sign, printed with the words “A Century of Love and Harmony,” toppled backward with a loud crash.
More eyes turned toward them. The attention was suffocating.
Ji Yanwan tried to pull her hand away, but Fu Suihe held on firmly.
To the surrounding crowd, the gesture looked like bold defiance rather than embarrassment.
“Xiaowan, what’s going on?” Ji Hesong’s voice was filled with surprise.
All eyes focused on them.
Ji Yanwan felt her heart sink to the floor. She turned to her sister with a pained expression. “Jie, this is a misunderstanding!”
But the large event screen had already captured everything.
On the screen, their clasped hands were clearly visible. Fu Suihe’s blushing face was framed by the soft lighting, and the way she looked at Ji Yanwan was unmistakable.
“Stop taking photos!” Ji Yanwan shouted.
But the more she backed away, the more her face came into view, right along with the lip print on her cheek, perfectly matching Fu Suihe’s lipstick shade.
Ji Yanwan’s vision darkened.
The system’s voice rang in her head again.
Ding.
Mission Three: Share a public kiss with Fu Suihe on camera.
